I grew up in Anaheim, graduated in 1977. Spent many fun nights here in my youth. My wife and I are considering joining a league. We live closer to Concourse Lanes, but I wanted to take us to Linbrook to see if we would like it and maybe spend more time in my old neighborhood. Just for nostalgia's sake. Well maybe we were there on an off night? (Sunday 5pm) When we walked in leagues were in play. It was busy. The look was, frankly, worn. I was not impressed. As much as this Alley is held in high regard, I expected a much cleaner, less worn look. Very unkept. At best. Maybe invest in new carpeting, fresh paint, clean the floors and paneled walls. That would be a good start. We played for an hour and left. None of us felt good about our time there. Me, the wife and my daughter. To make the matter worse, the ball return damaged my new bowling ball. When I brought it to the front counters' attention - they said sorry, nothing we can do for you unless you are a registered league bowler with Linbrook. Well, I'm not and ... I won't be. My high school friend and I decided to grab some lunch and catch up after 50 years! I picked this location, not knowing that it was attached to Linbrook bowling alley. This building is very nostalgic and has been designated a historic landmark. Apologies for not taking photos of the bowling alley. My friend and I both chuckled when we entered into the building because both of us were added bowlers back in our high school days. And often times we would grab a hotdog, hamburger, or fries from the diners or snack bars that were part of the bowling alley facility. We sat down and Alex our server promptly handed us menus and two glasses of water. The restaurant was getting a bit crowded as there was a league that was about to start and many other bowlers were coming to grab a quick soda or bite to eat. Alex however was able to manage this crowd and still was able to take our order quickly. We decided on pizza that had sausage, pepperoni, mushroom and bell peppers as our toppings. It took about 15 to 20 minutes for the pizza to arrive, but we were not in a hurry as we were still trying to catch up with one another. I would have to say that this pizza is one of the most delicious that I've had. The crust was not too thin was not too thick, but very crunchy and there were plenty of cheese and toppings and the price was moderate in fact very affordable. By the way, we ordered a medium size pizza which is 12 inches in diameter. In spite of the fact that it's inside a bowling alley facility, it was quiet. Easy for one to have a conversation. Although he has been almost 40 years since I have picked up a bowling ball, I might come back grab a bite to eat here and then head out to the lanes and see if I can manage to hang onto a bowling ball! Came here for the first time with friends and expected a really run down bowling alley but honestly, it just looks dated. It was nostalgic and had a ton of lanes. The bowling alley itself is 4 stars but the bar service and the pizza place really added that extra star to this review. I tried a philly cheese steak (I know, a little risky) and LOVED it. The seasoned fries were also so good. I had a great time. I don't bowl much so I can't comment about the lane or ball quality but overall no complaints. read more

I used to enjoy bowling in a league here, but lately the amount of vaping inside the bowling alley is overwhelming -- it's like walking into a Grateful Dead concert. Outside isn't any better. Two league officials sat there all night watching it happen and said nothing. At one point, my daughter told one of the smokers, "You shouldn't smoke inside," and the person snapped back, "Mind your own business." Later that night, when I went to teach a class, one of my students said I smelled like weed. The next day, HR called me in and required a drug test (which came back negative). When I complained to the manager about the vaping, he just said, "We give them one warning." Seriously? Any other business would ask someone to leave and not return. Avoid this place to save yourself from fraud. I was charged $127.25 for a bottled Coors Light and wasn't given a receipt. The transaction showed up on my bank statement three days later. When I called the manager, he told me he would "check" for a transaction of that amount or the $8 beer I was supposed to be charged. I returned on July 25, 2025, to show him the transaction on my phone's Chase app. The manager advised me to dispute the charge with my bank because he had no record of either the $8 or the $127.25 transactions. Chase informed me that I needed a receipt, but I explained that I hadn't received one, as I trust merchants to be honest. Takeaways: Never come here again (there are far more modern bowling establishments than this outdated 70s venue). Always ask for a receipt and try to pay with cash whenever possible, especially when buying alcohol. read more

This is a very traditional old school bowling alley - which I love and you don't see around much anymore. They even have a diner attached to it if you want a bite to eat. Me and my friends came here on a Saturday midday and it wasn't overly crowded and the prices are by the hour plus shoe rental. They also have a bar but they mostly serve beers and seltzers. Came here on a Friday night and had to wait about 30-40 minutes. Price per lane: $37 after 5pm. And shoe rentals were $4.75. For a party of 5, it comes out to $20 per person, which is amazing for the price. We got lane 39, and our group thoroughly enjoyed our time playing. The lanes were oiled well, and the fans were working properly. The only downside is the limited bowling balls. Our group had trouble finding the correct sizes. Love the old school vibes! Great staff, they were always available and accommodating. Very clean environment and lots of bowling balls to use. We started bumpers down, but newbie teenagers had more fun with them up! They have two sides and I think they separate serious bowlers from us who just want to have fun. Auto scoring is a great feature, especially if you don't know to keep score. If I could give this place 10 stars I would!!! I held my 30th birthday at linbrook this past weekend and everyone couldn't stop talking about how awesome this place was! I would choose Linbrook over Bowlero or lucky strikes any day! It has more of an old school feel, but with the best prices and customer service ever!!! I like the fact that I just had to rent lanes/shoes and there was no food minimum for a large party so my guests were able to come and go as they pleased. I ordered wings onion rings chicken nuggets and pizza and my god, everything was delicious. My Asian mom who eats nothing but healthy Asian food couldn't get enough of the food there and was honestly shocked she ate everything! That says alot! Nora helped me order and constantly came to my lane to update me on my order. She was THE SWEETEST lady ever. I am just so overjoyed by how nice everyone there was. It felt like I was part of their community. They even announced my birthday on the speakers to make me feel even more special. The second lane(throw number 2) hit a screw popping up on the lane and ball was severely damaged.I asked the place too repair it,it was repaired,but still pretty messed up. The fan on the ball return wasn't working, and the bowling alley was really hot. It's hard to bowl in those conditions. Don't let the dated decor and exterior of this place fool you, this is a clean, well kept, and well maintained bowling alley! The nostalgic feel when you walk in really takes you back, but the modern digital scoring machines remind you this place can keep up. This place used to be 24hrs, and I hope one day it can return in all its glory. There is good food on site as well a huge bar in the middle. They have karaoke some nights. This place is a lot bigger than it looks as well, there are lanes on both sides of the building, the staff is always super friendly. It can get packed on weekend so be prepared to wait. The Guards forced me and dragged me out at the Karaoke Bar and treated me like a criminal. They forced me show my ID if not i will be in trouble. I told them to call the police but they never did. The only reason was that I want to sing at the Karaoke bar before closing. The DJ said to wait before closing. I been setting at the bar counter waiting for hours and the DJ did not call my name. I saw the same girls and guys singing. I did tip the DJ but never called my name. I was shocked by the way the guards and the DJ treating loyal customer. The place becoming a dangerous place to have fun. If you complained due to things they do that favors others, the will forced you out and accused you of provoking and causing trouble.
