A close friend of ours passed away and we volunteered to find a good florist for the service. After spending a couple of days scouring Yelp and other places, and after visiting the top three just to check them out, we decided to contact a local church that my in laws' used to attend because they always had nice flowers for such occasions. They told us that they used Westmoor and were consistently pleased with their work. So off to the Westmoor Florist shop we went (again). The husband chose a tropical theme since that was her favorite. Tropical flowers, as it turns out, are expensive and some are delicate. Alicia at Westmoor worked with us and helped arrive at a budget for three arrangements, and main center arrangement and two side arrangements. The results were, in my humble opinion, quite stunning, the big center display especially so (as it should be), and the two side displays perfectly complementing the center arrangement. Alicia simply did a beautiful job, and the arrangements brought some happiness to a difficult time. These arrangements were quite large and heavy, so we transported them home in our Suburban Friday evening before the graveside service, then took them the next day to the service, then moved them to the church Saturday afternoon where the memorial service was to be held the following day. Despite all the jostling and less than careful handling by the folks at the cemetery, the flowers looked lovely for both services. And since there were three arrangements, family members were able to take the two side arrangements home and we donated the large one to a local home for the elderly. Alicia was extremely helpful in the budgeting process, and she created three gorgeous arrangements for us that, if you closed your eyes just a little, transported you to a Hawaiian island paradise :-) I highly recommend Alicia and Westmoor Florist. Stumbled upon this florist shop on my way to SIRIUS puppy training in Sunnyvale, and fell in love! The woman working was kind and helpful. It was 6:40 PM when I stopped by, and they were supposed to close at 6 PM. She didn't say a word, and I didn't realize until I left the store, after buying a plant. Many beautiful indoor plants I've never seen before, and I love the fact this place is so low key. The set up is welcoming and they have lots of plants to choose from. I also love the fact their decor is mostly plants! It goes to show they love what they do & love what they sell. Five stars, especially because you get to choose the pot you want!
