The boat was in great shape and we lucked out with a week of absolutely perfect weather. Everything from heading out to returning a week later was absolutely seamless. This place is fantastic.

Twas the first time all of us were home together since before Covid. My dad passed a few years ago and we all couldn't be home for it bc it was during Covid. So this was actually the first time all 5 of us kids were home at the same time. It's a trip that had to happen for sure. So getting the boat for an afternoon was super nice and a special day for sure. We got a pontoon boat for the afternoon. My brother and his wife rented it for 6 hours. I can't remember the exact price, I wanna say $450 for the6 hours, but don't quote me on that bc I THINK it may have been a tad more expensive. It's definitely a little pricey, but compared to their competitors, German Brothers definitely had the better price. The so-called "inconvenience" of renting from the vs the other(s) is German Bros is located out on West Lake Rd as the other is located in town...which is why I think they can get away with charging more at that place. The guys at German Bros were fantastic. Super friendly, super helpful...honestly don't have one bad thing to say about them or the business. For my first time experiencing one of these boat rental companies back home, I was definitely satisfied and even from my social media posts from that day and the days after our day on the lake, I referred like 5 people to this place and told them how much better it would be to go with them especially if they were worried about cost. You definitely save using German Brothers and these days, who isn't trying to save money any way they can? One thing to point out, you do have to pay for the gas for the boat and that cost is not included in the rental cost. You pay for the gas at the end of your time on the boat and I wanna say it's like a dollar and change more than what we'd pay at the pump ourselves. Then again, wait, haha, not sure what kind of gas these boats use haha! Just know tho, you pay separate for the gas. I recommended this to 5 different people (as mentioned already) and I'd gladly recommend to 5 more, 10 more, etc. They're a fantastic company and they deserve all the business they can get. This was my first Summer renting a slip from this Marina. I likely will not be going back. My…read morejetski was moved from my original slip without my permission. I had wanted to see the slip they wanted to move me to and when I went to take my ski out they had moved it without the key. On top of that the pool club was not what I expected. My other big complaint is their hours, I would call ahead to confirm hours, especially when putting in or taking out my ski, when I was told they would be there until a certain time and then I made the trip and they had a sign up stating staff had left early. Hoping management will contact me pertaining to these issues during Summer 2024 season.

What an amazing vacation we had on the Canandaigua ! The boat seems a bit large on their web page,…read morebut it turns out it was perfectly sized for three , and easy enough to pilot and park. It had all the comforts of a small floating hotel room. A Full kitchen , comfortable beds, air conditioning , sheets, linens, towels, pots and pans, silverware and to top it all off, a bicycle for each of us. Erie Canal Adventures has thought of everything. Their three hour training was thorough and easy to understand, and included practice time on the canal and negotiating lock 30 twice. All their employees are patient and helpful as were all the other boaters we encountered. On several occasions we experienced a little difficulty with the docking process and each time other boaters were there to assist. There are many towns along the canal, most of which offer dock space and electrical and water hookups, sometimes for a small fee, but often for free. The boats motor along at a stately 6 mph, which might seem slow in 2025, but it's precisely the right pace on the canal. Even on the hottest days 6 mph was fast enough that there was always a cooling breeze. I can't recommended this vacation highly enough. I'd like to say that it was the vacation of a lifetime, but I strongly suspect I'll be back next year.

The boats are easy to operate, well designed and make a comfortable trip. Bow thrusters are a game changer for the amateur sailors. We spent seven nights on Canadaigua. Two double beds were comfortable and once you plug in for air conditioning it's even better! Take a leisurely cruise from town to town. Shop, eat and enjoy dinner on a true piece of American history! We found everything needed along the way. Everyone at Erie Canal Adventures made it great. Even my wife who was intimidated about driving the boat got into it. This is truly a once in a lifetime experience.

The Port of Rochester is a great place to visit for locals and tourists. They have cleaned it up in…read morethe last few years in many ways. Also there are several places to have a snack, a beer, etc. They have ample parking right on the waterfront. Another things for visitors is some of the boats that visit or anchor here. There is also a pretty cool building that I think is a recreational building as there are courts that can be seen through the gates. I have been here twice and the beach and park were clean. There are a variety of places to eat including Bill Gray's, California Rollin II and Abbott's Custard. The restrooms were clean and well maintained. Sorry, I didn't think of taking any pictures besides one of artwork someone had drawn on the beach which was funny to me, but not very Yelp appropriate haha.
