But I went in for a state inspection (which I've done here before), left my car, and got a call back saying all my brakes needed to be replaced and I needed a new caliper, all for just under 3k. I said nah, I'm good. My fiance and my father-in-law (a retired mechanic) looked at it two days later and said, "You do not need all new brakes or a new caliper." They replaced my front brakes and told me not to come back, and to go somewhere else. I went to a Hyundai dealership and they said my rear brakes were fine and I didn't need a caliper. I recognize not everyone has the privilege to shop around but please do. This last experience was not great especially being told they did not have record of them doing my tires literally months before.

While I'm waiting my turn, another employee came out and started helping the lady behind me in line. I watched the guy who told me to wait type with one finger for 10 minutes before he even acknowledged me. Now, he says, I'll have to wait for the lady to get done and we only have one inspector. I paid 148.99 per tire and was told that Goodyear had a rebate as well. Conceniently, the computer wasn't pulling up the rebate info until after my purchase. Oh, what do you know, no rebate. I was charged $25.00 per tire to install and balance. They said an alignment would be $119.00. I then heard another salesman tell a women that an alignment was $84.99. So, I told them that was what i would pay. Was not happy with their lack of transparency, dishonesty, price of $864.19, and pushing all the extras. Not a good experience. I would not go there again.

My last visit I bought my car to have a part replaced and complete my yearly NYS inspection. They installed the part with no issues however they couldn't pass my car for its inspection due to certain repairs needed. MOST of what was needed WAS legit, however they added things that weren't needed to pass the inspection and quoted close to 800 Dollars to get right to pass. 125 / hour for labor for part not needed requiring 3 hours to install was out the park for me. I took it for a second opinion to a shop my company takes their cars to, (very good shop but won't mention who here) i walked away only paying 230 and passing the inspection with the NECESSARY repairs made. Once again I still believe in precision however certain issues might be worth the time for a second opinion.
