Still, in spite of carrying a boat of half seasick passengers who thought they knew best regarding what they wanted (myself of course included)--which was to go home and kiss some land--Captain Tom kept on. We finally found an area where the bottomfish kept biting and magically delivered not only more fish than we needed (though we didn't hit our minimums which.. according to my uncle who's done this before with Tommycod and according to the proud captain.. is unheard of) andddd best of all the sky opened up and the seas settled down. All went home happy, feeling much better, and hungry for fish. Also of note, their max passenger number to 6 which makes for a tight knit bunch and individual attention. My only complaint about this park is the day use area is not easily found. We did not camp here, but ended up driving through both campgrounds trying to figure out where to park. There is a sign pointing to beach access, but until you go down that road, you don't know it's part of the park.

On the coast with some winding little trails under the trees and through the sand, the day use area and one row of campground sites were open. We decided to take the trails on a short leg-stretcher just to see what Twin Harbors was all about. Up and over the sandy dunes and around muddy patches we weaved for a mile or so, and back through the campground to the van. The beaches were empty, a few campers staying overnight, and a handful of cars coming and going from day use. It felt pretty peaceful at Twin Harbors, we would've happily grabbed a site for a night if we weren't heading home. Probably wouldn't be more to do here for more than one night, but it's a low-key spot for a stopover or picnic.

Yes their is sand at each site as it is located on the coast. You can hear the ocean from the park. It is a very short 1.9 mile drive to get to the beach access in either direction. The staff is amazing, the best host I have ever met at any park. The restrooms are the cleanest you will find at any RV park or any where in the surrounding area.. They have the cutest cabins you can rent. There are ones with restroom and some without. As long as you realize that Kenanna is not a 5 star hotel it is a camp ground and their cabins are perfect for camping in. If you are heading to the Great Pacific Northwest and are looking for a place to park your Rv for a weekend or looking to rent cute cabin in one of the most beautiful settings i have ever seen an RV park be in, or you are looking to tent camp, Kenanna is hands down the best park you could pick here on this coastline.. It is quite, beautiful, peaceful place and every single person I met while I was there was so nice and welcoming. It was one of my best experiences ever taking our Rv out for on an adventure. .

The campground is clean, and that's where the positives end…read more Dogs are supposed to be kept on a leash, but during our stay this past week, management seemed to ignore that rule completely. There appeared to be a large family gathering, and the group was extremely loud throughout the day. They parked wherever they wanted, including in other guests' parking spaces, and allowed their dogs to run freely. Trash was left scattered around their campsite, making the area look neglected. The campground is already very tightly packed, so this behavior affected everyone nearby. To make matters worse, there is a long-term resident who regularly yells profanity at his children, and management does nothing about it. Throughout our stay, management was nowhere to be found when these issues occurred. We paid for a relaxing vacation, but instead experienced noise, disorder, and a lack of enforcement of the campground's own rules. Overall, it was a disappointing experience and a waste of money.

You can go Crabbing at the marina down the road and shellfish a few miles away. We usually stay here when visiting Heather and her amazing staff at Wandering Goose Restaurant located across the street at the Tokeland Hotel. Our recent stay we met Mike their new onsite grounds keeper, what a great guy. He stopped mowing and greeted us immediately upon our arrival. After some great conversation he showed us to our side and continued his mowing. This guy is a work horse but never too busy to answer questions or do a favor. Mike was mowing another area, and our camping neighbors asked if he would mow and edge their area since they were having company come visit. Mike didn't hesitate too immediately do this for them. I have to say the park has never looked better. There is a clubhouse of sorts, but it needs some TLC.

WiFi - There really is NO WiFi here. They should not advertise that they have WiFi. We had to leave…read moreto be able to get some basic files loaded down for review and be able to get back to vacationing. This is like going to a state primitive site. Bring you Starlink there is a good view of the the northern horizon. It is a quiet and clean basic park. Definitely should not be called a Resort. WiFi requires no password. Most attempts to connect to the WiFi fail. You will have to use your phone to create a Personal Hot Spot. If you do connect to the WiFi the Internet connection is slow and erratic. Most web sites timeout before you get a connection. This is ancient gear. An inexpensive mesh network with outdoor antennas would solve the problem. The front desk did not know who their internet carrier was. If the carrier is supplying any reasonable speed of 50 to 100 Mbps on a mesh network all would be usable.

We stayed there two nights for some halibut fishing. For a park that would be in my view, a mom and…read morepop operation, they were just as good if not better than some expensive luxury resort. Now they do have a fairly strict list of rules to follow which was no problem for us but it does make for a clean and quiet park. My main sense about how good an RV park is, is how clean are the restrooms and showers. This park scores a perfect 100 in my book for restrooms and showers. They even have a sign which says something to the effect of, first showers in the morning, it'll take a bit for the hot water to get there. Turn on the sinks and let them run until you get hot water. Perfect! At six in the morning I probably would have been a bit upset had I not known about the time it takes to get hot water. The entire park was laid out well so it felt relaxing. So whenever I plan a fishing trip out of Westport, those plans will include American Sunset RV.
