My happy place. Its the perfect place to gather with family and friends. Many happy memories have been made at American Sunset RV

Wonderful Campground. Full hookups. A beautiful meadow. You will often see the deer that have made their home in our woods. Best Campground in Westport. Great tent camping as well. And a playground area for the kids.

My husband and I camped here recently with our Good Sam's club and had a wonderful time. The facilities were very good and suited our needs very well. The club house/meeting room was nice and large, had good lighting, and a well equipped kitchen. The owners/ hosts were very friendly and accommodating. A large (11K) acre nature preserve adjoins the park so it is quiet and natural. We saw deer of all ages each day close by. Our club will definitely return again. My husband and I also plan to come back again on our own. They have two cottages for rent, though they are pricey. They sell propane. The owners are new and are working hard. The park also has an area for tents. It is very close to the ocean and the town, which is almost deserted in the winter, but we were told it is bustling in summer. Hope this young couple keeps the prices in check as they get on their feet so we "old timers" can still afford to go.

We attended a wedding held in the woods with a large tented reception in the huge field. It was surprisingly spectacular. The park is surrounded with trees which helps protect from the ocean wind. They're placed around the outside so they don't block the sun. You can walk or drive to the town and the ocean it's just down the street. This would be an excellent place for a family reunion. The clubhouse is large and well equipped with a cooking area. The pool, laundry area and bathrooms were very well kept and clean. We were in travel trailer but walked into the beautiful wooded area for tents and it was so pretty and well manicured with nicely placed sights. The park staff was very attentive delivering wood in the evening and making sure we had everything we needed. The facilities were exceptionally clean and comfortable. I liked the little extras placed in the bathroom for camper's use if needed We had such a great time and will be back for sure!

    Relaxing peacefully by the fire...

Lots of Karen and Maren. We were harassed all weekend-the moment we drove to the site to the time we left the site. Will not come again.....

Very nice RV place. Has everything a camper or tenter needs including firewood, swimming pool and the best fish cleaning station around.

My only complaint about this park is the day use area is not easily found. We did not camp here, but ended up driving through both campgrounds trying to figure out where to park. There is a sign pointing to beach access, but until you go down that road, you don't know it's part of the park.

On the coast with some winding little trails under the trees and through the sand, the day use area and one row of campground sites were open. We decided to take the trails on a short leg-stretcher just to see what Twin Harbors was all about. Up and over the sandy dunes and around muddy patches we weaved for a mile or so, and back through the campground to the van. The beaches were empty, a few campers staying overnight, and a handful of cars coming and going from day use. It felt pretty peaceful at Twin Harbors, we would've happily grabbed a site for a night if we weren't heading home. Probably wouldn't be more to do here for more than one night, but it's a low-key spot for a stopover or picnic.

There were a few hikers there, but otherwise mostly those preparing to fish. We didn't visit the camping section, but they've got a decent sized day-use area with a good amount of parking, tables, and restrooms. We took the forest loop trail that leads from the lake along the stream through the forest and back around to the day-use, about 2 1/2 miles. There are sections of the trail that are simply gorgeous, and other parts not quite as pretty. But the trail is pretty fun, ups and downs, winding with steps and bridges. While the path is completely passable right now, it was very muddy in many places. A bit precarious at times, as some of the soupiest, slickest spots happened to be on inclines and declines. You'll definitely need waterproof shoes and prepare to get dirty, but Sylvia is good for a quick hike. They've got some interesting educational info along the trail too...and the lake has a very peaceful feeling.

If you have children the walk in spots are best because the are closest to the swimming and playground and bathrooms! There are plenty of amazing trails and all well kept! ***WATER FALL ALERT*** yes there is a waterfall and also a really neat dam that creates a man man water fall affect . Fishing is aloud (no motor I believe) Dogs on leash Swim at your own risk Drinks aloud (I think ... I see lots of them) Also a group camping site that is at the top of a hill and looks down at the water. Easily fits 8-10 tents and has a covered shelter ! Perfect for a family reunion camping trip and honestly a beautiful place to even consider as a wedding venue.
