Second, there are no device charging stations or options in any of the spaces. Third, the rooms bordering kitchens are thin and kitchen sounds dominate the volume in those ballrooms. What a pleasant first impression. The rooms are all almost situated at corners that afford views of the golf course. I loved my room from the moment I walked in. It was not at a much higher floor, yet the view was pleasant. I could see the city on the horizon and right before me, the rolling course and walkways. The room itself was very comfortable--open space with no corners to hide rooms or closets that typically make me feel uncomfortable when staying at a hotel by myself. The King bed was very comfortable. There were ample outlets to plug my devices, and the lighting was just right. I enjoyed the rainforest shower head, the toiletries, and the large mirror with makeup lighting, plus a magnifying smaller mirror for touch ups. The bar, coffeeshop and restaurant were all stocked well. The conference rooms huge and tucked away at a private enough corner of the hotel that doesn't bother the guest room area. A bit of a walk but great for exercise. The shuttle ride to and from another wonderful spot, Ryder Cup Grille, was a welcome service. Definitely a property I would return to despite not being a golfer, but for the wonderful amenities and all the above.

The giant pretzel is another of my favorites. We played for an hour and I swear it felt like no time at all! The golf is great for all levels - we played a scramble so each player could be set at their own level, and played Turtle Bay. Let's just say I did NOT carry my team...but it was still a blast! So I ask the guys outside if I can borrow a 6 from their rentals. But I have to walk back to the pro shop to ask, so I do. The shop girl (Tiffany) tells me I have to rent the whole bag to get a 6 iron, what?!? They have hundreds of rental sets (confirmed by my caddie later who said they have tons of them just collecting dust). If they asked me to leave an ID or credit card as collateral, no problem but to tell someone they have to rent an entire set to borrow one club is absurd and not customer focused. From my caddie, "I can't tell you how many people show up to the first tee mad because the shop is awful to them". Then I get to the range, 3 workers are standing around the balls talking to eachother. I walk right by them, nothing. So then I walk back to get some balls, as I was grabbing a bag one of them finally says, "are those the ones you want, bro?" What do you mean? Well we have Callaway, Taylor Made etc. I don't care I say. Then I finish up and I take my dirty clubs back to the station where the same three kids are just talking to each other and paying no attention to their customers. That's where the cleaning bucket is. I sat there and looked at them while I cleaned 6 clubs. Not once did anyone acknowledge me or offer to help, they were talking about the World Cup game, way more important I guess. For $500 go spend your money somewhere else. It was one of the worst golf experiences I've ever had.

The Swing plus lunch/drinks will run you about $100/person so it's not like you're taking advantage of the facilities. That said, only people playing the East/West courses can utilize the chipping areas. Similar issue for using the range, can only use if you have tee time so your range options are to pay $75/hour at the sim or few bays at the Ice House, hitting off mats either way. It's simply not a place to practice even when spending $100+ person on site for other items. Can only pay $200-500 per round to be able to practice here.

Upon arriving at the property there were no clear directions on how to find the clubhouse. I ended up stopping at an apartment leasing office (yes, this course has apartments on various holes) for directions to the clubhouse. Once I arrived at the club house I came across a few other golfers who seemed friendly enough. The guy in the pro shop was also friendly and the check in process went smoothly. The Golfnow deal I had included the use driving range (which I was very appreciative of) which was stocked with balls. Considering it is August in Dallas, the course was in decent shape. The only exception to that was the bunkers. The ones I ended up in were in need of sand. Hitting out of them was just short of hitting off of concrete. The greens were in great shape and played very fast. My 'only' issue with this course is my group golfed 18 holes and the only time we saw a cart-girl was at the turn following the 9th hole. Around hole 5 we called the clubhouse and asked if there was a cart girl out. We were told "she's out and should be there shortly. Back to the cart girl.....upon seeing her at the turn we asked her if she was out making the rounds. We mentioned we had played the front 9 and never saw her or anyone else with a cart. Her response with a lot of unnecessary attitude was "I've been busy". No apology, nothing other than "I've been busy". Needless to say we did not make a purchase from her. Instead we went into the clubhouse and grabbed items from the bar where the staff was super friendly. We did not see the cart girl again until we completed the 18th hole. I find it unacceptable that I can golf 18 holes (on a course that claims to have cart girls) and only come across a cart girl at the club house. If you decide to golf here I highly recommend bringing a cooler filled with your drink of choice. Do NOT expect to buy anything on while on the course.
