I honestly can't believe this place isn't rated higher. Westshore Pizza has been one of the best pizza spots in Tampa for years, and I've been coming here regularly. Recently, they changed the bread on their Philly cheesesteak -- and wow. It was already really good, but the new bread takes it to another level. Stopped by, on the recommendation of a friend, looking for a place to get some food and watch a few games. The service was quick, and the prices were a lot better than expected. I ended up getting a slice of pepperoni and a slice of Hawaiian (I will always defend pineapple on pizza). The pizza probably had the best crust to topping ratios I've had in a while. Crispy platform with a soft end. 10/10. I added pepper flakes for a hint of spice, but the pizza was great on its own. The seating area inside was pretty spacious with TVs everywhere, high and low tables, and a bar area. There's plenty of space outside as well. That's how he gets rich: by ripping off his own employees. The kitchen is just as bad--poorly handled meats, dough made with dirty water, and hygiene practices that look like a manual of what not to do in food service. When you enter the pickup counter is to the right and v the dining room ID too the left. The wall in the dining area is a wall of TVs so your be bound to complain that your game wasn't on. Despite the late lunch hour, they were quite busy. First thing I noticed was the pizza case. My goodness, the pizzas looked delicious. None appeared dried out like they're been sitting for a while. Should've tried the pizza, but I went for the Chicken Philly Cheesesteak, with a side of fries. Why did I get the fries?! The cheesesteak sandwich is HUGE! Its loaded with peppers, onions, cheese and plenty of chicken. I swear it felt like it weighed at least 2lbs. when I picked it up. And the fries, the fries! They were a inviting golden color, lightly salted and fried to just the right crispiness so the crunch when you bite into them. But they were a mound of fries, enough to share. Came here during trivia night. The staff were friendly and explained how the menu/ordering worked. The vibe is a typical small pizza shop, which TVs for sports and whatnot. The salad had micro-shredded chicken - I think, tough to tell with its appearance as to what it was exactly. The mushrooms were brown and the cherry tomatoes were overripe. I went to Westshore Pizza for lunch with some friends at their South Tampa location. It was a larger location than I am used to since I have gotten to go at their Brandon location. This location has a smaller parking lot but I still found parking easily at lunch time. There is a food truck that sells churros out front that I want to get next time! When you walk in there is a counter to order and they also prepare King of the Coop chicken! We ordered and found a seat outside on the patio. So we called 2 orders in. When i get there there was only one order ready. I waited another 20 minutes. I ask how much longer the young lady goes in back then some old hag iucomes up asking whats going on. I explain that half my order was ready and the other half wasn't. I explained i didn't want one hot pizza and one luke warm. Then i get the only attitude from the old lady then i ask for my money back. Save your money they are rude and the food sucks at that. They have a case of pizzas available by the slice if you're looking for something small and fast. The dining area is quite large with multiple TVs on every wall playing every spot on imaginable! There is also an outdoor patio with seating. We tried a few options from pizza, wings, salad, a Philly and dessert! The pizza was hot and fresh, not too flimsy. We ordered some pizza and pasta from Westshore while in Tampa. We didn't realize it was a bit of a well known landmark. Easily to order by phone and it was all ready to pick up on time, even though they were doing quite the business. While we did take away, we took a look around when we got there. It seems like a fun sports bar like place. Lots of TVs up and running. They also had a wide variety of beers on tap. Looked like a fun place to hang out, have some beers and pizza and watch a game.
