FINALLY a Flipper's Pizza near me! I've had them a long time ago in Orlando before going to HHN, and remembered being very impressed with just the sandwich, so when the opportunity came for me to eat it again, I was STOKED. A nice little hack to know is that pizza places make some of the best sandwiches around, and Flipper's is yet one more place that proves my point. Why??!! The bread, the foundation for any good sandwich. It's basically the same dough used to make the pizza, and if you love pizza you're in luck! Some items I've tried: Their chicken pesto sandwich: THE sandwich that first introduced me to Flippers!! Hearty tender chicken, melted mozzarella, and pesto sauce accompanying lots of fresh tasty veggies makes this a meal in it's own class! You really don't need anything else. It practically eats like a personal pizza. I had this accompanied by some strawberry flavored Bubly which was a great pairing. So nice to finally get a chance to eat this sandwich again and remind me what I've missed. I came back a week later and this time I had their pizza, which I haven't tried before but was eager. I love that they have white pizza and that they have it in personal size, so that's was what I went for along with their meatballs and ricotta appetizer. I was a perfect companion so I could dip the pizza crust in the sauce. The pizza was just as good as the sandwich. Even my partner commented on the quality of the dough, which of course the heart and soul of any pizza. Each time I've gone there staff were super friendly and helpful to me upon arrival. Flippers is a pizza place which opened last year. I had taste for pepperoni rolls. Just ordered online and it was ready right when I there. Everything was fresh and hot. Flippers is in the top 5 of pizza joints in South Tampa in my opinion. The artisan pairing which consists of the mini mypie & half salad for $11.99 is unbeatable. Very flavorful pizza and lots of options. The service was top tier, the hostes/waitress had so much energy and truly cared about our experience. I've been hearing about Flippers for quite awhile and finally gave it a try. I'm normally not one to go to a chain pizzeria but I gave it a shot. Their pizza is a little bit thicker than a New York style pizza but it was still good. Their breadsticks are definitely top tier. One of my favorite breadsticks that I've ever had. I ordered a my pie pizza which is their personal size pizza that comes with 4 slices. The staff was insanely nice and sweet. My mom can't have certain things because of her medication and the chef came to our table and spoke to my mom to understand her need and make her food correctly. Their staff deserves all the praise! Their employees were checking up on us making sure we enjoyed our food, which we did. The restaurant itself is in a great location and is well managed. They are constantly cleaning and making sure everything looks correct. It was a quiet afternoon when we ate and had some music playing in the background. read more

Great, family-friendly place for a fast casual pizza meal. I took my kids here for a post-movie pizza. The place was empty, although the kitchen was busy with take out orders. You order at the counter, and then they bring the food to you. We got a large pepperoni napoli pizza, the roast broccoli, and some drinks (they serve Pepsi products, boo, but they also have some local beers on tap, yay). The food was delivered quickly. I love the roast broccoli with the different textures and flavors. The kids both enjoyed the pizza, and my husband enjoyed the leftovers heated up at home. I thought the pizza didn't quite live up to the claim as napolitan (the crust was just a little too soft and even), but it was still tasty. Lots of parking the private lot. read more

Just flew into Tampa for vacation and needed a quick bite before bed--Flippers Pizzeria hit the spot. We ordered a classic pepperoni pizza and garlic breadsticks. The pizza was solid, with a nice crisp crust and flavorful sauce--I'd give it a 7.9. The breadsticks were a standout, buttery and garlicky, earning an 8.1 from us. It was a hit with the whole family. When it comes to pizza, I like a New York style pizza, not a Chicago style pizza. I'm not sure how you classify this pie. Maybe it's a Neo-Neapolitan pizza. The sign out front says that they are an authentic, hand crafted, brick-oven, fresh pizza. I was a little bit confused because right when you walk in the door you see a generic 6 ft.² New York style pizza over. There was kind of a brick façade style counter in front of the oven but it definitely didn't look like a brick style oven to me. "one bite everyone knows the rules" The pizza looks really good, but unfortunately it wasn't my favorite. Don't get me wrong it was not bad, it did taste very fresh but it just wasn't my style. Right out of the box the pizza was floppy! There was no char on the crust what so ever and to be honest the crust was soft and chewy. Very little grease so I guess that's good for most! The sauce was not bad but it doesn't jump out at you. Lots of cheese and that combined with the pepperoni actually helped but still only finished one slice. Overall the pizza was super disappointing and I personally can't recommend this place and or would I ever come back. The service was as great and I paid $16.00 for a small pizza or what they call the "My Pie" and a bottle of water. Oh yea, and I of course tipped the kid at the front counter! Admittedly, I was skeptical about trying a chain pizza restaurant (why would I do that), but thanks to the 2 for 1 special, it gave me the nudge needed to try it out. Flippers did not disappoint. I love brick oven pizza. The pizza had the right amount of sauce and cheese and has the bend/flop traditionally associated with NY style pizza. As winner of a photo contest, Flippers was one of the generous donors with free gift cards to be used at this location. Located on N. Dale Mabry a couple miles south of the stadium, it is completely hidden on one side by Brass Tap. Appears to be a new location, very clean and the staff could not have been more pleasant and helpful. One of my strict rules, real ovens, no treadmills. Now, I am a long time pizza snob with a strong sense and opinion of the perfect pizza pie and yes, I lived in New York. Two pies to go, both with extra cheese. One was a 16" Deluxe and the 2nd was a 16" Pepperoni. The flavors were very appealing, in a couple of ways a slight variation on traditional taste. Good sauce, great cheese, wonderful char on the crust. I was not real impressed with the texture of the dough on the bottom. The great flavor combo outshines that issue and when reheated in the oven, even better. I rate the pie about 4 1/2 stars but the overall is 5 stars. I would use a gps on your first visit because the place is hidden and access if your heading south is tricky. You have to turn before you get there and come in from behind. A worthy pizza contender is now serving Tampa. Try it for yourself. read more

We ordered delivery and it was nice and hot! The breadstick bites were light and chewy with a little butter and Parmesan sprinkled on top. 13" Quattro formaggio Pizza was excellent cheese blend and classic cheese pull on every slice, cheese was toasted ontop to perfection. My pie California classic pizza was too big for me to finish, cut in 4 large slices, crust has excellent flavor that went so good with the cheese and toppings, it tasted like a great NY style pizza slice to me. We love Flippers! We were so excited to have the Tampa location open. The ingredients are great and fresh. Tonight, we were served by Zach. We came in as a large family one hour to closing. He greeted us with a smile and provided excellent service with a great attention to detail. He noticed drink volumes and when refills were needed and when to go boxes might be necessary. Always serving with a smile. Many other parties came in after us, all the way up to closing time and even as the only wait staff/cashier Zach greeted, seated, and served all with a great, friendly attitude. Okay, so I'm going to be sincere here. I ordered a Pizza from this location a few months ago and was not too happy with it. Not happy at all due to the quality of the pizza and lacking toppings. Somehow, this past weekend, I decided to give them another chance. Boy, I'm HAPPY I did! So, I ordered a large Deluxe and an order of Asiago pepperoni rolls. They were both Excellent! The pizza was fresh with the perfect amount of toppings, which were delicious. And that sauce...wow. The rolls were great too! They get 5 stars from me because they have provided a great and delicious product. I hope they keep it up, because if they do, I will keep ordering from them. Next time might be a Calzone! read more

This particular Flipper's Pizza seems to suffer what I have noticed to be more the norm rather than the exception. Most Flipper's locations seem to have poor management practices. Maybe it is training (or rather the lack of training), but I have seen it and have heard the servers in a few locations complain about the business (never a good sign). The food is ok, but honestly, it is nothing special. This particular location is convenient in the SODO district of Orlando and has some stiff competition surrounding it. Our server was very lazy and affected our experience dining in/trying out this restaurant. were a party of 6 and told the server that we wanted our checks split 3 ways and she told us that she could only split it two ways. I asked her if every party that dines can only split a check two ways and she said she could only provide two split checks. I've never eaten at an establishment that said they couldn't split a check more than two ways. When she gave us the check we told her to split certain meals and charge a specific card. When she came back with our cards she charged the wrong people the wrong meal. The plates were dirty and scratched up. We had to layer a couple napkins on top of our plates to eat. The food was good, but the plates and the service were absolutely terrible. Saw some ants around our booth and the booth was not well cleaned either. Glass on pizza! Visiting from out of state, they had good rating and it was close to our hotel so we called in an order. Told us 15 minutes. We have done delivery a couple of times. Good chewy crust, pretty good pizza. Lots of choices.

Second time they've gotten part of my order wrong. The manager offered two options--I could return to the store to pick up a replacement or take a credit for next time. Not even the option of a refund. So, for the second time, I drove back to the store while my family ate dinner. Then came home to eat alone after most of the food had gotten cold. Manager insisted I bring back the wrong item (for what?), offered no apology, nothing off the bill. Food is meh. Customer service sucks. read more

Carne Di Italia Pizza- The dough here was great tasting , however it was little less cooked than I would prefer for a brick oven pizza. The topping were all good individually, and even better combined. The cheese was tasty, and had good pull. The pizza was served hot and fresh, had to even let it cool a bit before chowing down. I called to have them make it right and they told me sorry they can't do anything!!! It does not say on its website that you are ordering from a third party!!!! They keep saying it says delivered but my husband has been in the lobby for 1 1/2 hours and no pizza!!! Very poor customer service!!!!
