Cheesy bread (the pizza is better)
    Rachel C.

Customer service was very friendly and patient, even though it took us a while to order and we came in close to closing time. I really appreciated how welcoming and approachable the staff was. The atmosphere felt comfortable and family-like, and I loved that they don't hold back on the toppings. The flavor combination of how all the different toppings work together was even more enjoyable than the pizza underneath it for me personally. For this style of pizza, I'd definitely recommend getting something with sausage. The sausage was easily the best part for me, and this style of pizza really complemented the sausage they used. The crust had a little bit of a spongy texture which makes it a very filling pizza.

Thursday 9/12/2024 Was looking for the best pizza in Tampa through Reddit and this was the most popular spot that was mentioned. I made a takeout order for an 18" dead man's pizza $27 and 10 wings (half bbq & half sweet Thai) $16. The ordering and pick up process was easy and the workers were cool. - The dead man's pizza aka meat lovers pizza was highly disappointing and underwhelming. * It tasted overcooked & slightly burnt and also the extra oregano and seasonings on the pizza were not needed at all. The pizza was a miss. - The bbq wings were the half I had as my cousin had the sweet Thai half and they were AWFUL. * These wings were dry, overcooked, and tasted like they had been out for while (you can tell they weren't fresh or moist). * The only slight positive I can say is that the sauce was alright but that's literally it. Overall, this spot was an awful experience and it seems Reddit can't be trusted for pizza spots in the Tampa area but then again everyone got they own taste buds.

PIZZA - it's just not that good and it's DEFINITELY not worth $25 a pie. In fact it's pretty flavorless. Cheese has no pull and is again...FLAVORLESS. I don't eat Dominos or Papa Johns because of the not so great ingredients but in this instance I don't think either could have been much worse. WINGS - got hot and bbq. Hardly any sauce on the hot ones. Flavor was meh.

I don't like writing about how great this place is because then more people will find out about it! But it's my job as a Yelper to tell the people the truth and the truth is Lee's is one of the best. Tucked in a neighborhood in an old general store building, they have amazing pizzas and wings. They also feature some of the best beers on tap and have several beer fridges where you can choose your beer as well. They have a bar area, intimate dining room and outdoor patio area for seating. I've seen a lot of people do pick up as well for food and beer. You can choose your own pizza toppings or order several that are already designed like the Dead Mans party, with ham, sausage, pepperoni, meatball and bacon. Hours are Tuesday-Sunday 3-10. Parking is available on the streets surrounding the restaurant.

Hidden gem within a super cool historical building that's serving up AMAZING wings, pizza, and craft beer. I finally got the chance to check out Lees Grocery for a superbowl dinner and will definitely be returning. The atmosphere was very laid back and although it was pretty empty when we went, I can imagine it's a fun spot when it's more busy. The inside is smaller than I anticipated it to be, but I enjoyed it. Made it seem homier. I was surprised to see the large outdoor seating area, which seems great for larger groups! Food: The wings are absolutely amazing. We ordered the 10 wings, plain, with hot and mild sauce and blue cheese on the side. The wings were so perfectly seasoned and almost reminded me of the wings on a rotisserie chicken, nicely smoked. We also got a plain cheese pizza pie, 18''. It came out fresh, hot, and the cheese and sauce had great flavor. It does have a thicker chewier crust. Parmesan cheese, oregano, red pepper, and garlic powder are available to add on top. There were a lot of fun pizza options/ combos and we'll be back to try the more interesting flavors. I'm also interested in trying the garlic parmesan wings. The nice thing about smaller joints like this is that the food comes out quick and so fresh! No food is sitting around when the kitchen is so close to the main dining area. Drinks: They have such a large variey of canned craft beers, ipa's, seltzers, and even non-alcoholic beers. There were also 6 different draft beers. I sipped on some Surfside's, while my boyfriend enjoyed the Tampa Export gold lager. It was a very light and crisp beer. The bartender was great and let us sample a couple of the beers and even made a mix of a sour and seltzer beer that she likes!

Overall the experience at Lee's was pretty great. I've been to better and worse local pizza joints. Nothing special about the Caesar Salad. Worth it? Maybe The Pizza was good. I felt like the toppings were a bit light or unevenly distributed. The flavor was pretty good though. The service was good. Some of the workers could be a bit awkward but that's about it. Not much on the ambience or vibe. Really just your pizza bar joint with some beer. Pretty simple. Great patio for the dogs. The value could have been better. Toppings and special pizzas were a bit overpriced compared to the standard cheese. It was a good pizza, but I felt like we could get the same quality for at least a few bucks cheaper. Same with the salad. Nothing bad at all but it may just be an occasional spot rather than frequent or new favorite.

Sweet neighborhood spot. Locals must feel real lucky to have a hang like this nearby. Great music playing, good selection of drinks, alcohol and non-alcohol. This spot has limited table seating inside, a couple high and low tops and bar seating as well umbrella covered patio tables outside in the courtyard. Street parking early. No idea how crowded this spot gets later in the evenings but it got busy pretty rapidly after opening. Only thing weird was the pizzas got delivered all out of order. I'm guessing they batch prep by pizza type but it all came out hot and good so no worries. Will def head back here for a laid back meal w good music.

Once again... Lee's did not disappoint. Fantastic service and food!! Thank you for being amazing no matter when we visit.

Lee's Grocery is the epitome of "If it ain't broke don't fix it." Simple concept, beer, wine, pizza and wings. It has a neighborhood tavern feel.  And walking in the aroma of pizza was amazing. It is a small venue with bar seating, two long high tops and two regular tables on the inside and then some outside seating.  It was pretty warm inside on my visit.  The beer selection is extensive with cans and bottles as well as drafts.  What I really liked is the drafts from what I could tell were all from south Florida including one from Oveido Brewing in the Orlando area and one from Tank in the Miami area. It must be a popular spot because it was recommended especially for the wings in two of the breweries we had visited that day. So the service was very good.  Ordered the wings 10 for $12.99 and they don't do half orders.  So we did an order of the garlic parmesan and an order of the thai chili.  The wings here are wet and taste like they are baked not fried.  The garlic parmesan were the best of the two.  The thai chili was more sweet with very minimal heat. Both were good. I really liked Lee's grocery and I will definitely return if I am in the area.

Lee's is one of my favourite little spots to just eat some pizza and wings and wash it all down with a cold beer. They have excellent pies with unique combinations. I really like their Sriracha Bbq pizza in their "secret menu" ;) When it comes to wings, these bad boys fall right off the bone! They are baked and usually covered in rosemary. They look like someone dropped them in the grass but trust me they are delicious haha! They have a wide variety of beers on tap as well as bottled and canned. Briney Melon Gose is my go to! It is a small set up inside and they are usually pretty busy but they do offer outdoor seating. Also it is only street parking so that is something to be aware of.

This place was on point! I'm impressed with the perfectly cooked pie and wings we got ;the wings were crispy but not over done , and the pie was well done and didn't flop in the middle . The vibes were super chill the music was good and they were playing the fifth element! The wait staff behind the bar was friendly and attentive. I'll def be back to hang out here again some time , there's a great selection of canned and draft craft beers and the vibe is very chill.

It breaks my heart to do this but after this last experience at Lee's I had to update my review. Hubby and I used to visit Lee's regularly when we lived in Tampa. We were back in town this past weekend for the first time in almost 10 months and we invited a few friends to join us. Hubby and I arrived first so we grabbed a table. The bartender came over and we each ordered a draft beer. A short while later, all but one friend had arrived so we placed our food orders. I mentioned to the server we were on separate checks. The pizzas took a long time to come out. And when they did, they weren't the same. The crust wasn't as crispy or seasoned as it was in Lee's prime. It felt like I was eating at a different place. Our server never came back to check on us or to see if we wanted more beer. One of our friends had to go up to the bar to ask for our checks. The server finally came back and had everything on one check. I didn't feel like going through the trouble of splitting it so we just used Venmo. The service at Lee's has gone way down hill. The pizza just isn't the same. I first noticed the decline before we even moved but wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Now I doubt I will ever be back.

The veal was incredibly tender, and the gravy was packed with flavor. It was a satisfying entrée that came with two sides. For my sides, I chose the pierogies and spätzle. The pierogies were honestly my favorite part of the meal. They were fluffy, cheesy, and generously filled. So delicious. I could have eaten a whole plate of just those. The spätzle was soft and well prepared, but compared to everything else, I found it a little boring. The restaurant itself is very cute and has a lot of character. I loved browsing the selection of German snacks, candy, and other imported items available for purchase. It added to the overall experience and made the place feel unique. While I'm not that familiar with German food, I thought this was a pretty good restaurant. Overall, I found German cuisine a little more muted than what I'm personally used to, but I still really enjoyed the meal and the experience. I'd be interested in trying more of the menu.

I had such high hopes for this place. :( The selection is very limited and perhaps I missed something (entirely possible), but I did not see a price list for the deli case. We did find a unique assortment of other German products- some we haven't seen in many years. The restaurant portion was quite busy and the customers looked happy. We were flooded with nostalgia and left in hopes of dining in on a less-busy day. I ordered two meats, including the German bologna. During the drive home, my family and I noticed a terrible odor-- the kind where we started pointing fingers at one another. We never suspected that the package from the deli was the source. When we opened it at home, a nauseatingly funky, ammonia-type smell came from the German bologna. While the liverwurst smelled okay, I could not trust it after the bologna and decided against keeping it. Wasted time and money. Dang! The staff is super nice and that was truly a plus. However, I doubt we will be back. My family is very bummed over this.
