I had a mixed experience with Westland Auto in Fresno. Back in 2023, they did help me get into a car when my credit wasn't great, which I appreciated. I purchased a 2016 Ford Fusion with about 130k miles for around $14k through their in-house financing. I put $1,000 down and my payments were about $700/month. The interest was definitely high, but that's expected given my credit at the time. The buying process itself was smooth, and their team communicated well whenever I had questions or issues. The downside was the limited inventory--my options were basically that car or a smaller sedan. Fast forward to September 2025, I got into an accident and the car was totaled. I still owed about $6k maybe and since I had GAP insurance through them, I expected the process to be straightforward--but it wasn't. Getting the GAP coverage to kick in was a hassle. There was a lot of back and forth between their office and my insurance, and it took about 1-2 months after my insurance paid their portion for everything to finally get resolved. Looking back, the car was priced higher than what it was actually worth. While they do help people with low credit and offer in-house financing, you end up paying a premium for it. Overall, I appreciate that they gave me an opportunity when I needed it, but if you have other options, I'd recommend exploring them first. I was later able to get a 2018 Honda Accord with only 60k miles for about the same price I had been paying for the older Ford, which really put things into perspective. read more

So a few months back I had tried to apply to get a car and everything seemed legit until I received this email.When you are a professional and put "I don't bite unless you ask me to in an email it is absolutely disgusting. Today I decided to try to reapply and requested a different worker than the guy that sent the email. I got a call from a guy and he said that "I wouldn't be a good fit" for their company because I didn't get their sense of humor. I feel like that is discriminatory and really appalling that he basically is ok with said employee being inappropriate and since I had an issue with it I couldn't get help. I have a sense of humor but when you are a business claiming to help people and then send that verbiage in an email it speaks volumes. It's really disappointing because they were highly recommended and I really need a car. I hope that they can learn from their mistakes and do better in the future!!!! read more

This place is only out to screw working class people! I had a car from them for a few months like a year and half ago and the check engine light came on the second day refused to give me the smog certificate all the tried were showing wires and started blowing out the first week of having the car. I only made one payment because they weren't fixing anything. So they repo the car which I expected but was no expecting for them to basically make it were I can't get financing anywhere else. Bought a car from them that ran good the first day. Next day check engine light came on. Scanned it. Fixed it on my own dime and through the actual manufacture. Then another few days goes by, check engine light again. Leak in the coolant. And a few other problems. No brakes. High miles. Alignment off. And they did nothing to help me. Just collect the money. These are lemon cars. Please please PLEASE do not purchase from them. Only reason why I did was because of my bad credit. 100% regret it. Westland Auto Sales are Lying Cheats that will rob you then repossess your vehicle while you sleep. The first thing they did was raise the price of the vehicle $1000 more than the advertised price. The second thing was they increased the downpayment required after they already had the original agreed upon down payment. Third and most downright dirtiest of doing business, was the truck I bought blew a motor rod 2 months after I bought it which rendered the truck useless, when I brought the truck back they offered to finance a used engine with 130000 miles on it for $3000.00 and I had to come up with $1500 before they would do anything. The fourth and last of the dirty deeds this place did to me was during the contract they charged me for the new tags $310 up front. Two months later, I found out they never paid the money to the DMV, forcing me to go and do it myself. When I complained to the Accounts manager, she said she would take it off my next payment. So, three months after purchase I paid the tags costing me $361 and my payment was $450 a month. Keep in mind the truck is broken down still. So, I owed $89 still on my payment. Them jerks came and repossessed the truck while I slept causing me to not be able to go to work on Sunday and they were not even open until Monday. So now I have paid $3211 for a broken truck that I no longer have and paid the tags on it twice. When I called Monday they said I would have to pay $1150 to get it back. I have never been treated so badly at any business in my life and as long as I live I will tell everyone I know how terrible this business is to its customers. read more

Ok, so after 2 horrible experiences here... I finally had a positive one. First of all I believe they hired new staff, and that was thee best move. I called and spoke to Paco, and imma say I think thats her last name, but I may butcher her first name. She listened to my situation, she went out of her way to get me approved and in a vehicle I actually wanted, she talked to me every step of the way and explained EVERYTHING. I felt like I was making a good decision on my own and not being forced into a sale. The things that I was leary of were corrected, and I definitely appreciate having such a positive experience after two previous extremely bad ones. However the service manager's attitude could use an adjustment. Mark was more than willing to take any problem I had and find a solution for it. And to be honest, I was a bit anxious and skeptical looking for a vehicle at a car dealership because I was afraid of getting scammed or being taking advantage. When I arrived at Westland Auto Sales, I was greeted by one's of the car dealers, Mai. He was patient and very understanding throughout the whole process. He even took time to try to teach me how to drive a stick shift, which was extremely difficult for me. I was there for a long time and eventually Mai introduced me to Jennifer Walter(she -hulk). When my friends motor was having difficulties "3 months" after he received the car the salesman (DONT WANT TO SAY NAMES BUT HES STILL THERE) said and I quote "Let's be realistic joe their not NEW cars?" These people basically spat in my face when I ALMOST financed a car with them! They LITTERALY (lied) wrote false information on the paper work to finance the car. The bank teller herself told me it was a bad lot to go to when she seen the paperwork!
