Don't go - extremely arrogant and unfriendly guys. Situation: I reserved a haircut here for me and my son. I asked them in the reservation whether it was possible to come here with kids. Given they advertise children cuts, I thought they would. Upon entering the store with my son, I was greeted with a very unfriendly 'please go away and take your kid away' from a guy, I believe David. He looked like he walked straight out of a dumpster, very unfresh looking dude. Even though I had an appointment, they made me wait 15min. Only after that time, they told me they don't do children haircuts and asked me to leave. Came all the way there from Chelsea with an appointment with my son for nothing, planned our entire friday evening around this trip. These guys clearly don't have children nor respect. This is my second time coming to Westside. My first was a year ago when we first moved into the 'hood. I'm not sure why I didn't go back, but I'm glad I did today. Berta (not sure on the spelling, as she wasn't much of a conversationalist) was really great. Usually with barbers there are one or two spots at the end that I have to tell them to go back to. But she gave me the perfect, clean cut, exactly as I ask for. I will absolutely be back in a couple of weeks because it's always hard to find someone who is talented and she is. The only reason I gave them four and not five stars is that they aren't the friendliest bunch. I felt really uncomfortable at the end, if not unwelcome. Do not go here. David was the worst haircut I've ever experienced. He started by commenting how bad my previous haircut was and criticized my usual barbers work( she was ill, the reason why I searched for another place in my hood). Not only did he leave my hair uneven he cut hair OFF I told him to not touch. How does this guy even have a license to cut hair. DO NOT GO HERE. . Haircut was quick and easy, and the people were friendly. However the gentlemen asked if he can do my eye eyebrows which I assumed he intended to pluck some of the overgrown hairs. He then proceeds to rapidly shave the buzzer over both my brows leaving an awkward bald spot on both of them obviously not giving a shit. Arial is very pleasant and easy to work with. He did a #3 clipper and a razor shave on the neck. Everything was perfect. They are wearing masks, as was I, in line with current Covid precautions. I combined my walk down with a stop at Gotham West market / food hall 2 blocks away. From a COVID standpoint, everyone was wearing masks and they were routinely disinfecting surfaces. NEVER come here. The worst haircut I've ever had in my entire life. Showed the barber a picture of myself right after my last haircut and he completely ruined my hair. I left the barbershop looking like an idiot thanks to this moron. Don't let him anywhere near your hair with a pair of scissors. Friendly staff, quick service. Don't go here for a trim. Be warned. All haircuts are $30. I just wanted my sides trimmed and got charged the same amount, which doesn't make sense. She's in and out in 30 minutes and looks fantastic -- she cannot rave enough. Me? Well, I've had a hair colic that no one could tame for over 40 years.
