This was the first Wawa I saw with tables inside. We stopped inside Wawa Saturday for snacks and drinks while on the road. The sandwich line was long so we opted no this time. Coffee is good as always. This location has self-check out stations. Side note: Wawa and business in the area here have out plastic bags. I was surprised after being so used to the plastic-bag-ban in NJ. Useful to reuse if your traveling through or vacationing in the area, but try to reuse or recycle these bags afterwards.

The convenience store fills a need, being open late and selling beer, cigarettes, snacks, ice and such. It's an OK place. The diner is also OK, offering typical diner food at typical diner prices with friendly service. Just fine, but nothing to write home about. One thing that makes Lander's River Cafe better than a typical diner is the view out the window: you can see where Callicoon Creek is about to flow into the Delaware, and from the angle out the back window the two bodies of water appear to be flowing in opposite directions. It's beautiful. Here's where Lander's River Mart excels: in the convenience store part of the establishment they make sandwiches. Not fancy sandwiches, but good subs. Their Italian combo (at about $6) weighs over a pound and a half and easily feeds two hungry people. It might be the best deal in Callicoon; the cold cut to bread ratio is obscene. Three stars on the strength of that sandwich alone!

The price was one dollar more than sheetz for a 12 pack of Michelob ultra, so that was pretty good and saved me another stop. This particular part of Scranton appears to be a little on the rundown side and that's pretty accurate for this part of the Hill Section and Mulberry Street. People will go else where to get their stuff if it's possible. They avoid the store at all costs. Only reason it is still open is the profit they make on alcohol and the somewhat legal gambling machines that are rigged anyway. Everytime I go in the store, there's always a customer having an issue with the clerk. I personally had an issue last week when the clerk demanded I put stuff back since his credit card machine was down. I was okay with all of it until he gave me the attitude he did. As a place that keeps changing ownership to avoid taxes, they should really treat their customers better. Same guy always has a grin on like you are playing a game with him. It's kind of disturbing. Here in Old Forge we treat eachother with respect, there is no room for this kind of behavior in our town or country. Until things change I will continue to give my feedback wherever it's applicable.
