I've never met anyone more unfit for her job than Celsa Vasquez. The only way to get maintenance requests even looked at is to call and when I did, Celsa went off on an insane tangent about how we should be putting our requests into the portal. Right, because last time when I put a request into the portal to fix my bathroom ceiling which was leaking wastewater from the toilet upstairs, I received ZERO response. I had to call at least five times for anyone to even care. I had to CHASE them down to get bare minimum habitable living conditions. Celsa does not care about your living conditions even if they are hazardous, and she will yell at you like it's your fault while ignoring the shit actively dripping from your ceiling. I cannot speak for others at this management company, but avoid Celsa at all costs. She might be one of the worst people I have ever met-- horribly unprofessional, blatantly rude, and has negative empathy for others. Someone like that should not be in management, let alone responsible for the living conditions of others. read more

i wouldn't rent here. I rented sight unseen since it was during COvid and I couldn't get in to view apt. That's on me. But, garbage is usually out for days, since they outsource cleaning and pay for only 3 days a week. Apartment is falling apart ; plumbing, cabinets. When you call the super he is rude and too busy to bother coming over. If you try and reach the office, good luck. No email. No one picking up phone. If yiu have a major leak over the weekend, you are screwed. Honestly not worth it. read more

I lived in a Brusco/Westside Management apartment for almost four years and, overall, had a great experience. Afrim was my rep there and he is wonderful to work with. Very professional and, when something needed fixing, he took care of it quickly. Same with a lease issue that came up. Wonderful experience! I'll miss working with him! Plus, the plumbers, electricians, plasterers and painters Westside works with are friendly and did good work. Also, it's worth mentioning that I did a good job cleaning when I moved out and Afrim made sure I got my full security deposit back quickly! I only had one meh experience: I had a very reasonable rent (which was low because of COVID) on a two year lease in my first Westside apt but the % increase for the renewal was, IMHO, exorbitant; I had to move. This is without a doubt the worst management company I have ever dealt with. I moved out in August and they took $300 from my security deposit and my roommates security deposit for cleaning and damages -- both of which they can't seem to send me the receipts for to prove. Additionally, Celsa is the worst human I have ever spoken to. She is rude, unhelpful, unresponsive, and all around not fit for this job. Every time i have spoken to her she has had extreme attitude and just gives me excuses as to why I have not seen the receipts yet. I have called so many times about getting the receipts sent to me that she knows my phone number and denies the call (I know this because i called on *67 and she answered after the first ring). Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! The owners and employees of this company, which also goes by Brusco, as well as the addresses of their various holdings, skip around the law, bully and lie, without regard to tenants' safety or health or rights. We moved because I had a panic attack after coming home to find a strange man standing in the middle of my apartment. He claimed Celsa from Busco let him in. We had not been notified ahead of time by email, phone, any other form of written notice, or in person that someone was coming over. I had only been gone 90 minutes, and on top of that I later realized that man had been sitting in the foyer of the building when I left--like he was waiting for me to leave? This was not the first time Celsa, the company's rep, had allowed someone into our apt without the legally required 24h notice. We called every time it happened to remind them of their legal responsibility and they rarely apologize. When we complained about this particular incident, Celsa said she'd been unable to slip a note under our door and acknowledge she had not attempted any alternative ways of reaching us and expected us to accept that as why she didn't comply with the law. The one time the company did apologize for showing up unannounced was when two men lowered themselves onto our balcony in the middle of the day. That was 2 years before they then just let a strange man inside while I was out. Obviously the apology was insincere. You will find, with not a lot of digging, that this is not the first instance of a tenant calling out this company for illegally entering people's homes without notice and without cause. At move in, the place was utterly filthy and there were holes all over the walls. I ultimately had to cite the NY state law numbers to get Celsa to agree to send someone to paint (they're required to paint every 3 years in NYC and she was unable to produce receipts of the last time it had been painted). That conversation set the tone. I was calm but assertive, prepared with a list of the things that needed to be mitigated and the wording from the law about what her legal responsibilities were. Before I even finished the list, she interrupted, loudly, saying she would not do it. Ultimately she did every single thing on the list, bc every single one was legally the company's responsibility to do. It shouldn't be a struggle to get a landlord to make a place move-in ready or to fix damage you didn't cause. And no one should have a panic attack because their landlord can't be bothered to follow the most basic safety laws. Also, a bit of humor, but also a ridiculous demonstration of how unprofessional these people are, their PLUMBER did the move-out walk through! He kept making these weird comments that made us think he was setting us up to owe some portion of our security deposit. So we asked for an itemized list of what we needed to fix before we moved out. He refused, even after we told him that if they don't provide such a list, they legally can't take ANY money from our deposit. In fact, when we told him that (I was ready with a screenshot of the law) he got irritable. He basically ran out of the apartment at that point. Shortly after, we got a call from Celsa and we made her go on record saying that he had indeed found nothing that would warrant keeping our deposit and we'd get it back along with any interest due. In NYC, it's due 14 days after move-out. We did get it all back...but I'm not sure we would have if we had not been keeping good written records of everything by then and making sure they knew we were. It really is not worth such anxiety and frustration and instability. Stay away from Brusco / Westside / whatever they're calling themselves. read more

I love my apartment on 75th St., but this is the worst landlord I have ever had. They rarely make needed updates to the building and in the year and a half I've lived here, I have lost hot water several times, had my buzzer broken and left un-repaired for weeks, had a screen door break several times that they refused to fix or replace, lost gas for several weeks during which they took away our microwaves in order to cover up building violations from the inspector that came to look at the gas (so couldn't prepare any hot food for weeks), the elevator has been out or broken for extended periods... the list goes on. And they are rude and unapologetic about it all. I'd hate to have to move again but likely will when my lease is up because I can't deal with them. Avoid if possible. read more

Ultimately, I had a wonderful last year in NYC living in one of their buildings. Honestly, I would have stayed many more years if I wasn't ready for something new. Afrim and team were always incredibly responsive and actually on multiple occasions took an extra step to just help me out when I was in need. An example: I had ACL surgery and was worried about the shower. On a whim, I asked if Afrim could have a new shower head installed to help and he had someone there within the day. The really amazing thing was he actually had someone come swing by and remove that same showerhead so I could take it with me to my next place (I bought a replacement of course but the one I got was expensive as it had an extension). Its little things but you really don't get that type of support at other buildings in NYC where you are tenant. I had a few issues in my apartment during my time there, little stuff that happens in any home, let alone a NYC home, and Afrim and the Westside Management team were quick to get it handled. I've lived in New York for 10 years and never have come across a management like this. Ephraim is an absolute pill to work with. He won't communicate over email so he can evade legal accountability for what was verbally promised and never answers his calls. He told us we needed to prime the walls before we moved out, which I have never done in any previous buildings, that's a management responsibility, but we obliged when he bought us the primer and agreed we'll get our full security deposit back. We primed the walls but when it came to issuing our security deposit, he took out the priming costs anyway. We called many, many times but the few times he picked up, he was really nasty or screened our calls or just picked up and hung up. Rent might be cheap but with the grifting tactics they use to keep most of your security deposit, better off renting at a higher cost elsewhere. read more

My recent experiences have been the worst yet. No need to go back years to the flood. Right now, my stove died on November 12 going on five weeks ago. Unable to cook for myself. Thanksgiving ruined, Christmas soon to be ruined. Today I learned my next door neighbor had a stove delivered. His isn't broken, he didn't ask for one and he tried to have them take it back. So, Celsa Vazquez can find a stove for someone who doesn't need one while all I have is a hot plate I had to buy. Yes, I agree with previous posts!! WORST EVER!! Rude and they are trying to bill me to repaint and place wasn't even painted when I moved here in 2019! Still had holes and paint on walls from previous tenant. Taken pictures b/c knew they would do this to me when I moved out, but for some reason can't find them. Maybe accidentally deleted? They are trying to bill me for a new stove and it worked perfectly before I moved out! I know b/c used it on Aug. 30 2023 and moved out August 31, 2023. Forced to move out of state although my kids live there b/c too much $$ and would need a guarantor. HORRIBLE MGMT COMPANY!! It has been a decade since I had to deal with these people and it was so traumatizing that when I came across this listing looking for something else I felt compelled to amplify the other reviews. They bought a building I had been a resident of for over 15 years from the previous landlord, a decent, fair, and attentive man who was absentee but hired good staff, and over the course of a little over a year they repeatedly falsely accused people of being illegal subletters, made up lease violations, reduced or ended services--anything to get the rent-protected tenants out of there. I had one interaction with Brusco where he openly volunteered that he had entered my apartment repeatedly without my knowledge, and when I told him that was illegal he just shrugged. (If only it hadn't been in the days before cheap internet security cameras.) Extermination, which had been a monthly thing under the previous owners, stopped. Mice became a problem and rather than solve it they insinuated that it was my fault. All keys had to be turned over, in person, so they could change all locks (a method for them to claim illegal subletting, I learned, and presumably also to give them the aforementioned illegal access). A backyard area was closed. The attentive live-in super was replaced by someone who couldn't be found. More than one tenant sought legal advice and we were all told the same thing: "You're right, but how much do you want to fight this?" Within three years, I'm told, there wasn't a single long term tenant left. I am also told I'm not the only one who never saw a dime of my deposit back. I was so happy to never deal with them again I didn't fight for it. I should have. Rents skyrocketed after they successfully pushed all the apartments out of regulation. I can't believe Celsa still works there all these years later. I almost feel bad for her. Almost. Believe the reviews. Brusco himself is unscrupulous and aggressive. So grateful I am now a home owner and never have to deal with unscrupulous people like the Brusco Group again. read more

The group should be disbanded immediately and thrown in jail. Celsa was not only not fit for her job, but she was top five worst people I've met in my life. We had constant issues from feces bubbling up from toilets, floods, banging pipes for months on end and they always took weeks to fix anything. They never once gave us discount on rent until you go their office and threaten them and will overcharge you to leave your apartment that is unlivable. Another favorite was when they said they didn't receive my rent check, so I wrote another in good faith. These scumbags then cashed both on the same day, but it gets better. After cancelling one of the check to prevent an overdraft, Celsa charged me a 200$ fine for a bad check that was their fault to begin with. Even after speaking to her approximately 20x she sent a bill for the $200 for the following two years. I hope celsa lives in an apartment as terrible as the one she gave us. It's surprising people would want to go through their life treating people like this and having them live in terrible conditions There is a special place in hell for celsa and the rest of this "management group". ***Yet another terrible review about Afrim Rexha, property manager at Westside Management*** I seldom write reviews (seriously, look at my review history) but I absolutely could not go on without writing about the horrific experience I had speaking on the phone and interacting with Afrim Rexha, property manager at West Side Management, over a series of days. I called about an emergency in my brownstone apartment, after being transferred to several building "supers" and contractors, and landed on the telephone with Afrim about my case. After sharing my concerns with Afrim, he proceeded to tell me my inquiry doesn't matter because I am "moving out soon anyway", laughed at my worry and belittled my character, and very soon after hung up the phone on me, without offering any help or suggestions. Completely shocked and surprised, I called him again to notify him of the emergency that is happening in my brownstone as we speak, and he proceeded to tell me not to call him any longer and hung up the phone on me *again*. What? Who does that? I am truly horrified about the way Afrim spoke to me, and I can imagine I am not the only one to have received this sort of behavior from him (and by the looks of it, this yelp page is filled with complaints about him). He is a detriment to the company, and a walking/talking liability. It was a nightmare working with him, and even his employees eluded to being unhappy in his presence. God-awful management company working for Brusco. Does not return even urgent calls for repairs; puts the onus on tenants to show up at the office in-person and fill out a work order, because -- if you can believe this -- after ignoring your phone calls, they don't even have internet access at the office. Oh, that's not to say they ignore you completely. Occasionally you get a surprise, felonious visit that is sure to delight you. The super showed up at apartment unannounced once (while we were at work) because of a leak a neighbor reported. We thought we'd been broken into, but no... just our absentee worker bee paying us a visit. He proceeded track mud around the apartment, get the bathtub filthy (I still don't want to know how) and *use our bath towels* to clean up rusty water from a radiator. Buyer beware if you work with them, because if they do ever pay attention to you it may be the kind you don't want. read more

We've been in our apartment 7 months, and he has been great, but the actual management team in this office is absolutely awful. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT rent from them (I don't care how cheap the apartment is). They will leave you with a broken fridge for weeks. They will also give zero care about you not sleeping at night because the pipes are too loud (at 4, 5, 6am). They simply don't care about you and will never respond to your requests. I currently live in one of their buildings now. Getting information from the management company is a headache. Ive had the same issue for months, and yet it is still not resolved. I call about an issue where the inside of the apartment is 50 degrees because the windows are drafty and they told me they cannot do anything. I'm pretty sure 311 says that the inside of the apartment has to be at least 62 degrees. Even worse is the fact that the heater isn't on all the time. Is it cheap? Yes...but is it worth it? I have nothing but good things to say about Brusco Group/Westside Management at 163 West 74th Street! The office is open M-F 8am-5pm and we lived in the 37 West 76th St building for the last year. We only moved out because we're leaving for the west coast. Below is a breakdown of highlights: Cost for Value: We lucked out with pandemic pricing, but their listings seem generously priced with the market for the incredible value that you get. We lived in a gorgeous south-facing (lots of sunlight) spacious duplex with exposed brick and a decorative fireplace. The unit had a dishwasher, laundry in the building, and heat/hot water included. Everything was clean and the kitchen counter was newly installed when we moved in. They were also fair negotiators when it came down to initial lease signing and lease renewal (although we didn't end up renewing the lease since we were moving out of state altogether). Repairs & maintenance: - (unit repair) Bathtub leak: immediate fix - (unit repair) Bathtub retiling: From the previous leak job, the piping had to be gutted, so the contractors left a hole in the wall, which they claimed was a separate job involving re-tiling. The contractor claimed he would inform the management company, but when we called to followup several months later, turns out the contractor hadn't mentioned the hole. Once Ahfram heard about the situation, he immediately called in a tiling contractor to fix the hole! - (unit repair) Fridge leak: This contractor ended up calling us directly to schedule, but we ended up missing his call, so he never showed. We called Ahfram again to ask if he could give the fridge person a push and that did the trick. - (building repair) No heat in building: there was one winter day when the heat seemed to shut down. Our neighbors called in and immediately Pablo (the super) was on it. - (building repair) Broken dryer: fixed pretty quickly by ordering a new dryer - (trash maintenance) Trash people come in several times a week to organize the trash and place on the curb on appropriate days - (hallway/lobby maintenance) Always clean Summary of repairs/maintenance: They hire, what seems like, third party contractors to make most in-unit and building repairs. The contractors themselves seem to be hit or miss, but the management company (Ahfram) and super himself (Pablo) seem extremely on top of helping and getting you in touch with the right people. Want to give a huge shoutout to Pablo for always picking up my calls when I had an immediate question! I also want to give a huge shoutout to Ahfram - yes he does sometimes take several calls to reach, but we're all busy working professionals here (if you leave a voice message, he always calls back). He's got what seems like a typical New Yorker personality in the sense that he's All Business (which is surprising to hear new yorkers complaining about tbh). At his core he looks out for and seems to care about the tenants he works with - he gave us great suggestions about how to leave the apartment (even suggested we take a video for our records). Many of the reviews complain about receiving the security deposit back- Ahfram had verbally confirmed with us that we should expect the full deposit within 2-3 weeks via a check in the mail. WOW I don't even know where to begin. I was waiting until I got my Security Deposit back before writing this review. I would give this negative stars if I could. This is the absolute WORST management company, so please bear with me because I feel like everyone needs to be aware of the things they put their tenants through. Stay away from Westside Management/ Brusco Realty (locates at West 74th & Amsterdam). I didn't have too many issues when living in their building. However, when I did, nothing was ever taken care of until several phone calls a week and months later (and these were not small issues to go unattended for long). The building I lived in was not well kept and it always smelled like animal feces, which could always be found somewhere on the stairs or hallway. On top of it all, Celsa is a nasty human being who should NEVER be allowed to speak with other people. She barely answered her phone and never returned any of my phone calls. When she would answer, she was absolutely no help. When I finally moved out of their hell hole of an apartment, my roommate turned in her keys before me, as she moved out before me. I went back to get a few things I left there to find the door open, lights on, and things thrown out. Let me make it clear that I was still paying for this apartment since my lease didn't end for another week. When I called Celsa to inquire, I was super nice since I know how she is, and just wanted to have a conversation so I could understand. She got sooo defensive, started giving me a nasty attitude out of nowhere and told me that once a set of keys is turned in then it's considered vacated (which was NEVER stated anywhere on our Vacate Instructions). I tried explaining to her that I never turned mine in though, my lease doesn't end for another week, and it never stated that on their letter to us. She didn't care one bit and just said goodbye in the nastiest tone. This company also doesn't have an email address, etc. It's very sketchy and best to just stay away from them. I could say so much more but I'm shocked if anyone even read this far. All I'll say is, save yourself the money and sanity of renting from them. Their apartments are way overpriced and not worth it at all! This company should have been shut down years ago. They are liars, thieves, and just overall horrible people. read more

We had to move out of a BRUSCO property (244 w 109 1B) due to a rodent and bug infestation. We were only there a month and complained from the first day. Both my fiancée and pet bunny got seriously sick, had to take my SO to the Emergency Room and the bunny to vet. City officials later confirmed to me that our unit had been reported on several occasions just this year even before we moved in by previous tenants for hazardous living conditions. However, Brusco continued to rent the unit and let us move in to our later dismay. They let us out of our lease, thanks Brusco, but robbed us of over 7 thousand dollars, refusing to pay either the first month back, or the brokers fee we paid, or the 2k we spent on moving and then re-moving, or any of our medical, vet or other bills related to living in this shithole. So - definitely - consider your options. Even if one of their properties looks good, run and don't look back. The worst crooks in New York City! read more

Afrim was a big help to us during our two years at one of the properties he manages. As with any NYC apartment, we had a maintenance issues arise from time to time, but they were all handled in a reasonably timed manor. The Management office is a bit busy so sometimes it takes a bit of persistence, but the management does care about the tenants. Afrim worked with us when Covid hit to help us move into a nicer apartment in the middle of our lease, we are grateful for our time spent living here. read more

(I'm breaking my "no public reviews" policy for this.) I have just reached out to our local police precinct about this management company's refusal to offer a securely-locked residence for its tenants in my UWS building, despite multiple complaints in person and over the phone (they don't do anything online, so there's no paper trail for them) -- specifically the property manager Afrim, who wouldn't even tell me his last name when I alerted him I would be contacting the police. The front doors do not consistently lock, plain and simple. I've had three packages stolen/tampered with (and witnessed the remains of others' that had been torn open), and I've spoken with other residents who tell me they have reported to Brusco/Westside Management that they and other women do not feel safe there with how easily the building can be accessed, as well as having other service requests ignored. This is not about building conveniences; years of repeated, long-term outages of the elevator and intercom system went unreported (by me, at least) because they are just that: conveniences (my Seamless account permanently says "please call" because I just assume the intercom doesn't work at this point). Security should not a convenience -- especially not for their prices (currently in a $3,600/1 BR). Needless to say, avoid doing business with these people if at all possible. I'll update here with what happens with the police, but I'm so fed up, I'll happily help you hit the pavement to find other options. read more

Let me preface this by saying -- all NYC Management companies are difficult to deal with. The exorbitant market, the standard ridiculous price-tag of a security deposit and broker fees, barebones contracts, lack of presence from the owners. You can live anywhere else in the country better. That being said -- Brusco/Westside Management was one of the better experiences I've had in 15 years living in the city and dealing with at least eight different management companies. What makes my experience a 5 star review: - The apartment at 313 W 105th Street was below market value and a great price. (Exposed brick, large storage areas, original flooring, bathtub, dishwasher, partial river views - in the mid $2K's) - Brusco worked with me on signing offers as standard leases require 40x the rent. - The lobby and staircases were swept and mopped about every two weeks. Lobby and stairwells featured new construction and fresh paint. - Super (that didn't live in building) was always available within 24 hours of calling. - Our dishwasher broke a few months into the lease and they had a serviceman come quickly. A specialty part was ordered and fixed within days. - There was a slight mold issue with the tiles in the bathroom and they had it scheduled, treated and re-grouted within a day. - They only raised the rent 1% after the first year. (Unheard of for NY!) - They worked with me on vacating the unit when I had to move as I had resigned the lease for another year. Working around my schedule they hired an exclusive broker showing the apartment during the last month of our contract at my leisure. - When I called, they returned my security deposit in full within the first 90 days of vacating. NYC Real Estate is a pain and while there were hiccups along the way with this company I can absolutely justify giving five stars. I wish they did more through email, as it's sometimes hard to get them on the phone and their office hours are limited during the week/closed on weekends. We've moved out of state, but would have been happy to resign with them. Reading the other reviews, I understand renters frustrations. To those that are thinking of signing with Brusco -- I will tell you that as far as NY Real Estate goes -- they were completely reasonable. Overall -- I had a good experience. read more

GOD AWFUL!!!! RUN FOR YOU LIFE! The most corrupt company I have ever dealt with in my entire life and I work in construction. First of all the company doesn't "do email." So their paperwork trail is non existent. My landlord Afram is the worst human being I've unfortunately ever encountered. A simple conversation always ended up with him screaming at me and even mocking my accent. To say it was horrible was an understatement. Minor issues turned into days of screaming matches. The worst management I have dealt with in New York City. Avoid at all costs. They don't fix anything, they keep double security as deposit, and when you move out they will hold on to your security until you call every day and they are getting mad at YOU when they are holding YOUR money. This is a long review, but I advise that you read i thoroughly before considering renting from these scumbags. The review was written in January and I have been waiting to post it until we finally got our security deposit back. I am giving them a 1, but I wish I could give them a zero... If you like living in a mouse infested apartment where your packages get stolen and management never gets back to you then this is the perfect place for you! My roommate and I have had a mouse problem since July. We have had the exterminators visit at least once a month since then with zero results (like come on now...what kind of exterminators can't get rid of mice? especially when they SUPPOSEDLY do a full cleaning of the entire building...) These exterminators also only use poison. No traps. They think that the mice are too smart for the traps. Well guess what, they are too smart for the poison too. We have also not been able to use our oven since July because that's where the mice live. And surprise surprise, every time we ask them for a new oven they ignore us. Lucky for us we are supposed to get a new one right before our lease ends. That really helps. I won't get into the nasty details of all of the mouse droppings we have found, how our oven smells like urine unless we put dryer sheets in it / constantly light a candle, or how we constantly see mice scurrying across our floor. I get that we live in NYC and mice can be a problem, but the management company should at least have the decency to ACT like they care that we are having these problems. On to the other issues....packages. If you want to have your packages delivered to your apartment (what a luxury) they will get stolen. I had two packages in one week stolen. I don't know if it was another tenant in my building or if it was someone from UPS. Regardless, when I called Orchid her response was, "oh well maybe you should have things delivered to another address then." Umm really? Not only do I have mice, but I can't even have packages safely delivered to my apartment? Finally, let's discuss how unresponsive they are. On multiple occasions I have called Orchid three times in one day, had to call and scream at the operator who clearly has no responsibility whatsoever, and not gotten responses. It's so bad that both myself and my roommate have gone through our phone records to document how many times we have had to call the management company about problems. We've also documented how many times the exterminators have come to our apartment. I recommend to any tenant that gets stuck with this management company to keep thorough notes in case you need to get a third party involved in order to get all of your security deposit back. I agree with all other commenters here, i have called 311 on those gays so many times, they dont respond, i live in a rent stabilized apartment and they are trying every trick to get me to move out. they are the definition of slumlord. they dont respond to plumbing emergencies. they are total Assholes. if you want to rent from them save yourself the headache and find another apartment. read more

As I will be the first to comment, I wil try t be fair. As a soon to be previous tenant, I, for the last year have become unhappy with them. They have shown me their rudeness, lack of communication, attempts to evict me and just how lazy they really are. Take for instance my fridge, it's an essential apt item. Once it breaks you would think they would be in a rush to fix it, nope. Three weeks it took. It took a week to get them out from nj because that's who they subcontract to just inspect the fridge. A second week for me to find out that they did not have any idea as to what happened at the inspection. Not my job to report. And in this second week they sent the super who insulted me by lying in from of my face to the building that it was my fault, yes I know Spanish. And a third week to inconvenience me during thhe day just to install the fridge. And when I asked for some compensation, because obviously I lost all the food in the fridge and couldn't store anything for three weeks, I received nothing. Not even a response to my two letters. Just because I defrosted the mini fridge that needed defrosting. On to another subject, it's just obvious that you will have vermin, mice, rats in your apartment because there type of extermination, is to send someone out to put traps down.. Seriously, they could have paid me to do so. And then will they follow or make sure brokers follow the showing instructions so that you are not interrupted by some broker trying to show your apartment, nope. I have received over 10 calls a day for the past two weeks, each broker telling me or informing me that they have the keys and are basically outside my apartment. And then there is just thhe simple lack of communication from them on a whole. Yes they tried to evict me claiming I had not paid two months rent, when in fact one was paid and as I mentioned before, I was awaiting response as to my fridge dilemma. But as they claim this is how the paper work happens and that at some time I owed two months. Big deal, in three years when I have been so behind. Not like I was not going to pay them. In any case, we go through all the motions, I go to housing court to get my court date and give my response and at that time I was all caught up on rent. Following week, day of court, I get a call a few hours prior to the hearing, "oh we will not be going to court as you are caught up," and in the middle of this I have paid both months, put a stop payment on a check because it wasn't received and then come to find out when I give my next months rent, I get a call that supposedly the check was bounced when I asked the woman, for lack of a more accurate word, had no Idea and obviously didn't listen to her messages informing her not to cash that check, that the one I handed to her in person was to take it's place. I mean they are beyond backwards. And because the check bounced, they tried to charge me a late fee. Really, not my fault that your entire company is incompetent. No I do not recommend this company, their spaces, well that I do recommend. Is this a case of taking the good, with the really, horrific, obnoxious bad? I think so. Just think twice before signing the lease. read more
