I love this dentist. I'm very picky when it comes to dentists since I've had a few bad experiences. But I love this one. Dr. Hope is one of the best dentist and most friendly people you'll ever meet. I'd recommend her to everyone. I've gone through a few dental hygenists in my 2 years coming here and for the most part really like them. They've had some growing pains as well as Dr. Hope going on maternity leave but I've never had anything but pleasant experiences here. Occasionally I have trouble getting an appointment since my schedule is unpredictable and the location has grown but that is my only complaint. I also got invisalign here and it was an easy experience and am very happy with the results for much less than I was quoted at other dentists. I also appreciate that they don't make up cavities just to get extra money out of you for fillings like I've had at many dentists. read more

Absolutely horrible experience. I've had a deep cleaning done by a technician at this facility and unfortunately, the tech performed the procedure in the most abrasive & painful manner which also resulted into an extremely unpleasant infection of my gums. When I reached out to see if the dentist would examine the infection and work done by their own staff, I was told that this would be impossible because the dentist is normally out if the office. I was told that a dentist wouldn't be able to examine the damage caused for over 2 weeks! What type of practice are you people running!? BEWARE! read more

I recently went to Westside Modern Dentistry for a root canal and crown. The root canal procedure itself went well, and I appreciated the kindness and professionalism of the front-desk staff. Unfortunately, my experience with the crown was very disappointing. The original crown that was made in the office by Dr. Anjali Bhatia was extremely rough and, in my opinion, unacceptable. I had to return to the office several times before a replacement crown was sent out to be made. Before the replacement crown was ordered, I specifically asked Dr. Bhatia whether I would have to pay for the new crown since the original one was not acceptable. She asked me to wait while she checked, and when she returned, she told me that I would not be charged. Because I relied on what Dr. Bhatia told me, I was very surprised when I spoke with Jordan the person who handles the financial part. She told me that I was responsible for the charge because I had signed the financial paperwork. I explained that I had spoken directly with Dr. Bhatia afterward and had been told there would be no charge. Unfortunately, the financial department did not resolve the situation in a way that I felt was fair. What could they improve? Communication and accountability, especially when it comes to financial matters. If a dentist tells a patient that they will not be charged for a replacement due to a problem with the original work, that information should be clearly documented and honored by the financial department. Patients should not be given conflicting information by different members of the practice. I was also asked if I wanted to become a regular patient. After this experience, I would not feel comfortable returning or recommending Westside Modern Dentistry to others. I do want to emphasize that the front-desk ladies were very nice and helpful throughout my visits, and I truly appreciated their kindness. read more

What is wrong with these people? I went in with a broken tooth at the end of May. I was examined and x-rays taken, then told they would email me an estimate. Fine. I returned home and waited, never to hear back about the estimate. I waited two days and called to schedule another appointment, only to be told that they would call me back. Again, I never heard back. Yesterday I called and, after being cut-off twice, I got an appointment for today. Today they called to say that they didn't have "the materials needed until the 16th and suggested that I "find another provider". Seriously? They claim to have 10 Doctors on staff and advertise "same day crowns" yet, no other Doctor could provide care for a broken tooth and they didn't have the materials needed? What kind of fucked up dental practice is that? read more

The dentist called to verify my insurance a couple days ago on 12/20 and I called back and provided my insurance information on 12/23. They said ok thanks it takes a few days to verify (with this phone call being Monday and my appointment Friday). I did not receive any further phone calls or correspondence. In fact, I received a confirmation text 12/26 that said they're looking forward to seeing me at my appointment! So I showed up at said appointment, and they said oh, we are not taking any more new patients with this insurance plan. They said I should have received a call, which I never did, only the confirmation text. Apparently the first person incorrectly entered it, and when they realized it, no one called me. However, my insurance app says this provider is in-network and able to be assigned as a PCD to my DMO plan. So now, I have to find a new dentist and coordinate around my next day off because they're disorganized. Minimal apologies or offers to make it right- just said I'm welcome to be seen as self pay. read more

PLEASE FOR YOUR OWN MENTAL STRESS AND WALLET DO NOT VISIT THIS DENTIST. They will (against the opinion of every other dentist I have visited since) scare you until you get out your credit card so they can UPSELL UPSELL UPSELL. I have visited around 4 dentists in the last 3 years due to moving - never had any significant problems noted outside of regular cleaning. My first visit they identified 'significant periodontal problems', which pushed me up to a much higher than standard cleaning cost - I was terrified, and at their recommendation spent over $500 out of pocket in this first visit for antimicrobial rinses, additional cleaning, etc. etc. Who wouldn't pick some extra expenses when we're talking about our tooth health? They scheduled 3 month visits, at each one talking about how my 'teeth and gums were getting worse, I might need to be referred to an oral surgeon', basically leaving me with an anxiety attack after every visit. After the 4th of these visits, I saw another dentist who is a family friend to get a 2nd opinion - their results after looking at the same X rays taken by Westside, and an exam - 'your teeth and gums are healthy, Westside sounds like a big box chain that is fleecing you since you have good insurance and will pay out of pocket'. Because of the convenience of how close Westside is to my home, I decided to keep my last appointment and just ask to not have any of these additional - My mistake, they asked me for $180 before I even walked into the back, because this is 'no longer a covered cleaning, these are advanced maintenance visits'. They would not allow me to limit what they were doing based on what insurance covered. And as the cherry on top, because I argued that I shouldn't be paying anything out of pocket, they said that was still a $50 charge for cancelling. My insurance covers 2 regular appointments as preventative care, I just got off the phone to verify with my insurance. They are straight up LYING about what is covered in order to get you to pull your wallet out. If you value your mental health/anxiety about your wellbeing, if you value your dollars, DO NOT VISIT THIS DENTIST. Use literally any other office. Worst experience with any sort of medical care in my life. read more

Long story short, this place diagnosed me with gum disease and told me I had 2 cavities that were so bad I needed CROWNS (not fillings); I went to get a second opinion elsewhere where I learned I had not even one cavity. Please don't waste your time and go anywhere but here. Now for the long story: I had an old filling from my childhood start to turn a darker color and a different tooth that hurt when I ate. I thought I may have to get the filling replaced and potentially have one cavity to fill. These would be the only 2 fillings in my otherwise very healthy mouth. My experience with the people at the front desk and the techs was great. They were all really nice and helpful with insurance. I got to my exam early and was taken to get x-rays which were all done before my scheduled exam time. Then, I waited over an hour for the dentist to finally come and do my exam. I was seen by Rebecca. She poked every corner of my mouth with a pointy stick and told me that because some areas bled, I had early onset gum disease. She then supposedly went to view my x rays for another 30 minutes and returned to say, and I quote, "You have a huuuuge cavity! Large and in charge!" This was for the area where I currently had a filling. Beyond her rude and unprofessional remarks, she explained that it was not possible to replace the filling without also drilling out a crap ton of extra tooth, which would then be made so weak that the only option was a crown. I mentioned that I had a different tooth that was hurting and asked if there was any cavity there, and this girl literally said "I don't actually see one but we can go ahead and schedule you for a partial crown". In other words, she had absolutely no idea what was wrong with my tooth and was ready to drill half of it out lol. I read some reviews about how this place was quick to pull teeth and was initially very apprehensive. Surely they just had bad teeth and were in denial, right? Well, I'm only in my early 20s and have been going to the dentist every 6 months on the dot my whole life. I brush my teeth twice and day and can assure you absolutely have very healthy teeth. Another thing to note is I mentioned that the dentist made me anxious and she coldly told me that she's happy to add laughing gas to the procedure. I decided to go get a second opinion to see if it were possible to avoid paying a grand. I went to Buckhead Dental Studio and saw Dr Thomspon. After taking x rays that she actually reviewed with me, she assured me that where I currently had a filling, I had no cavity. The filling itself needed to be replaced as it was getting old, but the tooth was otherwise completely healthy. She then actually took the time to take a look at my tooth that was causing me pain and informed me there was a little chip which I am experiencing pain with. All this to say, not one cavity and absolutely no gum disease, lol. She was able to do simple fillings to replace my current filling and close the chipped area. She also closed that chipped area with no extra drilling or filing - - I did not even have to get a local anesthetic. To top it all off, when I mentioned the dentist made me anxious she gave me a cute little stress ball and proceeded with more caution. This was less than a hundred dollars. The experiences were like night and day! If you actually want to keep your teeth, don't want to pay 10x the price, and would prefer to not hear unprofessional and insensitive remarks, definitely go to Buckhead Dental Studio or anywhere else instead. read more

This place is a SCAM! They REFUSED to give me a cleaning that my insurance covers 100% because I didnt want to pay extra money for all these "so called extra services my teeth needed". The extra services by the way came up to almost two thousand dollars. I have NEVER had such a TERRIBLE experience at a dentists office. The staff at the front desk were unprofessional, the actual dentist looked 21 years old and was not experienced or professional enough in my opinion. I take very good care of my teeth and have NEVER been given the LONG list of problems they told me I have with my teeth. They told me it would be "unethical" for them to give me a "normal" cleaning knowing I have so much other stuff going on that they need to address. I made my appointment to get a six month exam and cleaning and the dentist herself told me a cleaning was not guaranteed because they were "busy" that day. I'm not happy at all WMD .I came to them in April and had the remaining teeth pulled , to be able to have a full set of dentures. but the teeth were so big they didn't fit my mouth , I couldn't even close my mouth , they took them back and I waited several more weeks for another set .I even took them my old set of partial to show them how my smile should be .they asked for pictures of my smile I complied. and mind you it's may now and I still don't have a smile .so they finally called me back in I was super excited only to br given a set of big horse teeth just like the ones before .at this point I was so crushed .that I just simply told then to just give me back what I paid out of pocket .they said of course we can do that well that was 5 almost 6 weeks ago .and I don't have teeth or my refund .I'm so tired of calling and getting the run around .it's not fair. I got my son an appointment for a cleaning. We have Cigna discount plan, which has been great so far, we don't have denta insurance. Before he is done, he is sending me the estimated cost. He has had wisdom teeth out, he goes to dentist every 6 months, and is very meticulus with his teeth. They told him he had receding gums, he needed a DEEP clean, which is the bs they pull to charge more. The estimate WITHOUT the discount plan for CLEANING was 1600. So, i told him to just get them cleaned and get out. So, without discount plan, 1600? this is a joke. I don't see a problem with a few hundred, but of course they saw a 19 year old, and pulled the oh, you have issues, we recommend laser, this that, etc. They should be embarrassed. I will make sure I NEVER go back or recommend. total BS. So, if I had not gotten the discount plan (which by the way is awesome) the bill would be 1600 for a routine teeth cleaning. Greedy is all I can say. Within 15 minutes of my appointment, they insisted that the tooth must be extracted, there's no hope, bone won't ever grow back, blah, ,blah. And the surgeon just . . .happened. . .to be available immediately! "And that'll be $4,600 since we have to LIFT your sinuses and insurance won't cover the implant." So I got a second opinion from a root canal expert (he wrote a book about it, Dr. Rico Short). All I needed is a root canal, better antibiotics, and a graph because, yes bone WILL regenerate and insurance covered most of it! WMD does care about your teeth, they care about selling unnecessary surgeries. And will push a doomsday prognosis (lie) to do so. read more

Went to this Dentist office excited to find a new office near my home. Unfortunately, they do not have their stuff together. I was met with pure attitude with the administration office. I told I owed money for a cleaning after I gave them insurance multiple times and told it was verified and everything was covered. All they have are young kids working their office and they charge you for things that are covered, go if you want to deal with overcharges and attitudinal office staff. read more

Upon arriving at Western Modern Dentistry all of my concerns were properly addressed. The team here IS phenomenal. Hope Marshall saw me today and walked me through the entire process of my root canal. She is very passionate and informative. I found myself more enthralled with the procedure. Everyone was so nice and helpful. When you are having work done in your personal space it can be a bit uncomfortable but Hope made sure to check in with me often. I got a routine dental check-up and cleaning at Westside Modern Dentistry and I can highly recommend them. I had been to Dr. Marshall's dental office on Towne Lake Parkway--Woodstock Dentistry--for an inlay and was delighted with the work she did. Westside is much closer for me, so when it was time for my cleaning, I decided to try them. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I got a state-of-the-art 3D X-ray, which thankfully showed no problems in an area of my mouth that I was concerned about. And they gave my teeth the most thorough cleaning I've had from any dentist or hygienist in years. My teeth were beautifully white and smooth afterward, and I was very, very happy.
