Gotta love the Westside! This is an upscale area of ATL filled with plenty to do from shopping to dining galore. Here you'll find stores for home décor, athletic outfitting, jewelry, shoes and so on and so on and so on. If your hungry; good...there are all kinds of restaurants/bars to help taper that appetite. Westside Provisions District -- Design, dining & one of Atlanta's coolest little districts Calling Westside Provisions District a "shopping center" doesn't quite do it justice. This little gem off Howell Mill Road feels more like a mini design district mixed with great restaurants, specialty shops and upscale retail. If you love interiors and design, you could easily wander around here for an afternoon. The directory includes Herman Miller, Design Within Reach, Room & Board, The Shade Store, Serena & Lily, Brick + Mortar, East Fork Pottery and Anthropologie, along with fashion and specialty retailers such as Warby Parker, Free People and lululemon. Then there's the food. Little Sparrow is here, along with Marcel, Forza Storico, Taqueria del Sol, Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams and several other spots. I came for dinner at Little Sparrow, but ended up enjoying the entire district. The aesthetics are fantastic. Old industrial architecture, brick, covered walkways, string lights and thoughtfully designed storefronts give the whole place character. At dusk, it becomes especially beautiful. It feels polished and affluent without turning into a sterile luxury shopping center. My one complaint: the parking. There is plenty of it, but portions of the lot are noticeably sloped. If you park farther down the incline, unloading your car or simply navigating the grade can be awkward. Watch your footing, especially after rain. Otherwise, what a fantastic little Atlanta discovery. Come for dinner, give yourself time to wander through the design stores, do a little shopping and enjoy the atmosphere. ****Shopping, Ice Cream and a Train!**** This is a great little area to shop and eat and get some very good ice cream. The bridge that crosses over the rail road tracks is an absolute must if you have kids. It is one thing to be on the side of a road watching a train. It is quite the event to watch a train coming toward you from afar and then having it pass directly under you. Kids love it! Overall, we spent about two hours here browsing in unique little mom and pop stores and having some very good ice cream. About 30 minutes was used waiting for the train..well worth it. We did not buy anything other than ice cream but it was still nice talking to the shop owners and receiving some southern-like hospitality. Parking is plenty and very easy. Overall, I am a fan! read more

Westside Provisions District is a high-end restaurant and retail district in West Midtown (Westside). It's home to some of Atlanta's best restaurants. The shopping center was formed in 2008 as a combination of the old Westside Urban Market and White Provision district. It's located less than a mile from Atlantic Station and Georgia Tech and less than two miles from the I-75 exit at Howell Mill Rd. Westside Provisions is neat in that it's a shopping center built in and around an early 1900s meat packing plant. Today, there are residential lofts, office space, boutique shopping, and both upscale and casual restaurants. The main draw for me is the food because the restaurant selection is superb. Fine Dining, Farm-to-Table, Tapas: Bacchanalia Little Bacch JCT. Kitchen & Bar Cooks & Soldiers Marcel Casual Dining/Bars: West Egg Cafe Ormsby's YEAH! Burger Star Provisions Taqueria del Sol Little Trouble Ice Cream, Froyo, Juice Bars: Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams Yoforia dtox Bacchanalia has outstanding prix fixe meals made from many ingredients from one of the chef-owner's local Georgia farms (Anne Quatrano's Summerland farm). Little Bacch, which offers a small and simple menu, opened this past Wednesday in the old Quinones space downstairs. JCT. Kitchen is one of Ford Fry's many successful Atlanta restaurants. It presumably got its name because JCT. is shorthand for junction and this restaurant is located right next to some railroad tracks. Abattoir was replaced by Marcel, a steakhouse (also by Fry). Abattoir is the French word for slaughterhouse -- it was fitting because of the old meat packing plant and the Miller Union Stockyards, which existed nearby in the late 1800s/early 1900s. Cooks & Soldiers is a Basque restaurant serving tapas and wood-grilled BBQ. West Egg Cafe has one of the best brunches in the city. I've been going there since they were at their original location where lululemon is today. Ormsby's is a cool, two-story, indoor/underground bar-tavern with classic arcade games, darts, backgammon, bocce ball, pool, and shuffleboard. YEAH! Burger is a trendy burger joint that offers organic burgers with optional gluten-free buns. Star Provisions is a purveyor of gourmet food (meats, cheeses, seafood) and wine. They have a small deli which serves tasty sandwiches, salads, and pastries. Taqueria del Sol is a nice fast casual spot for Mexican comfort food (e.g. tacos, enchiladas), often with a line out the door. Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams serves arguably the best ice cream in Atlanta. The number of creative and unique ice cream flavors is almost overwhelming, especially considering the inventory rotates regularly with new and experimental flavors entering the mix every couple months. Yoforia offers a multitude of self-serve frozen yogurts with various fruit and confectionery toppings that we've come to know and love. Aside from the food, retail includes home furnishings and accessories (e.g. Room & Board, Anthropologie), fashion (J.Crew, Sid Mashburn), and more (e.g. Perrine's Wine Shop, simplyput Paper & Gift). Over the years, Westside Provisions' popularity has continued to grow. During peak times, parking can be hard to find, especially on the Westside Urban Market side (Star Provisions, Jeni's, Taqueria). Parking attendants are on-site to help folks move into and out of parking spaces. Fortunately, you can also park on the White Provision side, which has a free self-park deck. You can use the footbridge over the railroad tracks to walk over if you need to get to the other side. I love this shopping district and won't bother naming all the businesses that call the area home, as you can see other Yelpers' helpful reviews for that. There are so many options for places to visit here, all the way from casual dining to more upscale grubbing and everything in between (let's face it, Jeni's has really made an impression in Atlanta's ice cream scene). The footbridge connecting the two sides (which once were Westside Urban Market and White Provisions--thus the mishmash of the two in this shopping plaza's name) is really cool and the industrial, meat-packing warehouse architecture makes this place very visually appealing, even if you are not looking to shop or eat. While there are some affordable options in Westside Provisions District, do not expect to be dropping the kind of money you would on Buford Hwy. We're talking about a district that houses a wine shop with an expertly-trained French sommelier, a beautiful flower shop, upscale clothing storefronts, high-end and well-made furniture, and lots of eateries. The one thing you can count on is free parking, which leaves you with a few extra bucks to spend at the businesses here. Because of this area's popularity, Howell Mill traffic is literally a bitch. One that tests your temper and leaves you in a dismal state of despair. But the good thing is that once you poke the hood of your car into the parking space that some other schmuck was trying to claim and you stroll about WPD, you will surely find something pick up your mood. read more

Aesthetically speaking, this is one of the best shopping plazas in Atlanta. It's stunning. There's a bridge that connects two parts of the shopping center - it goes over railroad tracks and there's a nice view of the midtown Atlanta skyline; it's a popular spot for photographers, I've seen at least one on everyone visit. In terms of dining, you've hit the jackpot. Some of Atlanta's best restaurants are housed in this plaza. A few are on the pricey side (Abattoir, Bacchanalia, JCT) but they provide a nice range in more affordable dining as well in West Egg and Taqueria Del Sol (etc..). There are also a lot of options for our inner shopaholics, there are several fashion boutiques for men and women as well as several home decor shops, most notably Room & Board. There's ample parking, there are parking garages behind West Egg and next to Yeah! Burger, street parking in front of Room & Board, and Star Provisions/Bacchanalia share a parking lot with a few other of WSPD's restaurants (valet parking is also offered). I also really enjoy the events WSPD have put together, most recently the 'Really Good Strut' fashion show; featuring clothing and hors d'oeurves from their tenants. It was fun, well-organized, and not without some free swag. Always a perk. Overall, this shopping plaza is on the high end side of things (read: fancy schmancy), expect to break the budget a bit - but hey, quality not quantity right? read more

The website revisions district is a wonderful place for an interesting walk. It is dog-friendly and kid-friendly but not necessarily want friendly if you want to stop in at any of the stores. You can definitely make a date here super expensive by visiting JC T kitchen, Marcel, or some of the other restaurants here, but you could also have a more low-key day by visiting Jeni's ice cream,doing some fun window shopping, or stopping at Brash coffee bar. The clientele tends to be of the rich hipster variety, which is understandable considering that J.Crew, free people, and Anthropology along with many pricey independent boutiques are all located here. It is also a very safe area, and I have even seen extra security on site when there was a large holiday event. I think that the security was mostly there just to direct traffic, though. I think the folks who run the Westside Provisions District must be doing a good job. It has attracted some really cool shops, they have decorated for the Christmas season, and they hosted that holiday event I mentioned which involved free goodies from some of the vendors nearby and pictures with Santa. Kind of a confused jumble of shops selling expensive stuff I don't want. The layout is just bizarre. This not a shopping district conducive to shopping. There's not much in the new section for me, except Ormsby's, West Egg and maybe Little Trouble, which I've not been to. Yeah! Burger is OK but I'd never drive here for that. I'm not interested in any of the non-food stores. The original section has some winners - JCT Kitchen, Star Provisions, Bacchanalia. I fondly recall the first Attack of the Killer Tomatoes Festival at JCT. It's the four-star old section that bumps this review up to three stars; the new section rates as two. Super swanky and every soccer mom toting a designer handbag whilst pushing a designer stroller adorned in cloak-y sweaters/shawls or designer yoga gear hangs out here all day. This shopping plaza is nestled adjacent from Atlanta Station in the up and coming Howell Mill area. You could over look this area due to the industrial look and feel. I happen to work about one mile north of this located off of Howell Mill and I happened to venture over there for a business dinner and was impressed. The complex is actually quite big and there is a bridge that separated two sections with apartments in the middle. You can find restaurants, furniture stores, and clothing retailers. I happen to be attending the Sundown Series which is every last Wednesday during the summer. Sundown Series has art, music, and a movie all free of charge! Grab a bit to eat at one of the great restaurants, and enjoy the entertainment! read more

Underwelming, you can't compare this to the Vinings or where I love the Village in NYC, this is barely 1/2 block of that. Walked around and went in the stores and I wasn't at all impressed. This is an upscale place and does not have a similar setup or design like other malls. This place is spread infact so spread out that it is confusing if ur visiting it for the first time. They have couple of shops and most of the brands are ones which you don't find in regular malls. You wld find a lot of home furnishing stores here. Since this is an upscale place, prices were high in all the stores that I had visited. There was hardly any crowd inside the mall. This place has a lot of upscale restaurants like marcel, jcp, baccanelia (nearby) and few of causal dining places like yeah burger. They also house one of my favorite ice cream place, jeni's icecream. This place has a look if warehouse or factory turned into an upscale place. read more

This plaza is like a hidden treasure. A nice place to go on a date. The atmosphere wether it's day or night is attractive and refreshing. If you have not been to this part of Atlanta you should definitely visit. The restaurants in this district are all exquisite and there are boutiques to satisfy your crave for shopping. read more
