While the venue itself was gorgeous, I felt the space was rather cramped, especially the reception area. There were 2 bar stations but when people lined up to get drinks, there was no space to move around them, you're just stuck in one place. With 150 guests, there was seating for about 20, and limited tall tables for placing drinks and hors d'oeuvres on top for another 20. The other guests and I agreed the reception should have been held on the lawn where it was more spacious. We did catch a gorgeous view of the sunset. The outdoor deck was also a beautiful setting for photos! Inside the club house where the dinner reception was held, it was more spacious. The layout was nice and it provided a long runway for the bridal party to make their grand entrance. There was a good sized dance floor, so we all enjoyed the evening. The event coordinator did a wonderful job and I appreciated the attention to detail. Kudos to the chef and waitstaff for preparing and delivering our plated meals of steak or Chilean sea bass, it was delicious!

As a…read morelong time Marriott Bonvoy elite, I tend to look for Marriott's properties and in Solana, this was the only one with walking distance to the beach! So, we braved it! The verdict? It was NOT BAD at all! I'm not sure why there were a lot of negative reviews... Now, it wasn't great or incredible, no it was not a new property. I do think it's an older, remodeled property and the layout was interesting, a big circle with a big courtyard (hehe) in the middle with the pool and the bistro (the only restaurant on the property that serves Starbucks). Gym is tiny and felt stuff because it was in the basement floor with no window. There are only two levels and we were asked which floor was our preference and I saw second. We were given room 244 and it has a view to the bistro and the pool. Really high ceiling and since it was August, the already hot and humid weather making the first time entering the room feeling like we were transported to an island hotel room somewhere, even Hawaii. The high ceiling and interesting layout of the room was kind of nice/cool, and strange. The bathroom was unnecessary huge...but no complaints. Overall, room was really big and spacious and the only thing I would want to comment was how dusty the counter top was in the bathroom... I wiped everything off (all the counter) for some reason and there seemed to be lots of black sand on the bathroom counter top and in the sink... but, you are next to the ocean so... Overall, Courtyard doesn't provide free breakfast even for Titanium unless you book a rate with breakfast included (not free since those rates already accounted for the charge of the breakfast). However, not a problem because it is located where there are tons of places to eat any time of the day, and tons of places for coffee any time of the day. Very short walk to the beach, super simple and easy to find where beach access is. Go either from the back, turn right and short walk cross to the other side, there is the stairs down the beach. Or, if you're in the front, walk left to downtown. Super simple. Would def say again!

After returning from our day out and accepting the ant problem was not getting better, we called to change rooms. After being told by the front desk person they would look into it and call us back in a few minutes, we waited over 30 minutes then walked to the front desk where we couldn't be ignored. To then wait another 30 minutes to get a new room, delay was due to something wrong with the "system". The manager Tina (who is very friendly, if not fully effective) said she would put some Marriott Bonvoy points in my account for the trouble - the least I would expect for moving us from a double to a single and making us wait over an hour at 9pm for this change due to a pest issue in their room. Now, 3+ weeks later and multiple calls to the hotel - I do not have any bonus points nor even a call back. As much as I'd like to say the staff makes up for the state of the property, which is what I wanted to say by the time I wrote this, there does not seem to be a desire from the team to make things right, here's my honest assessment from our experience there.

They had a blast playing games and enjoying some friendly competitions. We picked Birthday Package which included pizza, drinks and dessert. There is a back party room has two tables and fits comfortably around 10 to 12 kids. I especially liked the large glass observation window, which allowed us to watch the kids while they played. Each game lasts about 18 minutes, providing a nice rhythm for the kids to cycle back to the room for snacks and drinks. However, I do have a few suggestions regarding the birthday experience and food policies. First, we were disappointed to learn we couldn't bring our own cake. My daughter was quite let down, as the provided cupcakes didn't feel quite right for a milestone 10th birthday. We were also informed that if we wanted to bring any extra food or treats, they had to be individually wrapped, which is very limiting. Additionally, our host was not very engaging. They simply explained how the room and games worked, making the experience feel a bit transactional rather than celebratory. Despite these minor issues, it was a great party overall. The kids had a wonderful time, and we will definitely be back to play again.

It's a nice cafe in Solana Beach. The service is amazing and their specialty Lattes are what I go for. I enjoy the French and Brazilian cafe music they play in the background. I enjoyed the coastal breeze. While you sip and enjoy a treat you can perhaps play tic tac toe and or other games on the front patio/ picket fenced in yard. Super cute place! The Lattes I go for are The Gardener (lavender, honey, vanilla) and The Farmer(vanilla and brown sugar). Made with organic espresso and love. We've even enjoyed visiting the bunnies for 22$ per person (plus tip if you'd like too) gives you about 20-30 minutes of interaction with the bunnies. Instead of treating customers with even basic courtesy, she was annoyed that anyone was there. A simple question was met with a nasty attitude, and the interaction left us feeling completely unwelcome. I saw her speak to other customers in the same manner, so it wasn't just us. Unfortunately, the coffee wasn't any better. It was poorly made, tasted burnt and bitter, and wasn't worth finishing. For a coffee shop, that's the one thing that should be done well. There are plenty of other local cafés where you'll be treated with respect and get a much better cup of coffee. Only draw is the bunnies, who I really hope Samantha treats with more care and kindness than she does her customers; I honestly am concerned for their wellbeing after experiencing how Samantha treats people.

We worked with Rachel and Jordan and booked about 1.5 years in advance. They were communicative and very flexible with my multitude of changes throughout the year and a half working with them. I was even able to add a cake tasting and cake later on and change certain rentals very close to wedding date. They were patient and accommodating and willing to make just about anything work! My guests were incredibly happy with the food and the service, and my husband and I absolutely loved the waiter assigned to us on wedding day! The only thing that went wrong was half of our string lights (required by DH) went out for the entirety of the seated meal due to an installation error. I'm not docking any points from rating as this was a genuine mistake and WTC reached out to their EPR contact right away to have them return to site and get it fixed. It did take about an hour+ to resolve but WTC was very apologetic and even provided a a partial refund for the lighting. One thing we were bummed about was that cake service occurred during the main dance floor time and if cake wasn't accepted from the server, it was a missed opportunity. According to my guests, about 90% of people didn't get cake as it wasn't left on tables and most people were on the dance floor. 2.5/3 sheets cakes remained at the end of the night. One big win was TWC was so organized and accommodating for the many dietary restrictions/allergies we threw at them and served our guests appropriately. We received no complaints and guests and family said it was handled seamlessly! All in all, my husband and I were so pleased with our decision to work with WTC and will forever cherish the role they played in making our day amazing!

PROS: - Perfect location day or night - quick walk to the beach, shops, and restaurants - Popular spot for bougie food or European style gelato and surprisingly even Mexican eats. - Sunsets are my weakness, but here it's even more special especially from the lobby - it's unreal and literally GLOWS! - Love coming during the evening when you have no major plans and this spot was lively! - Great for people-watching so grab a drink and enjoy the show! CHEERS! - Living room bar had live music and great vibes! Feel free to dance it off as well. - Staff and valet team were friendly and on point. - Restrooms were well-maintained and clean. - Decor is dreamy, relaxing, and very Euro-chic! CONS: - Ocean view is hit or miss depending on where you're situated. If you have a balcony you'll have the full effect. - Drinks are PRICEY (go figure!) but hey worth it-sh LOL - Gets crowded and and maybe rowdy. Some days seem chill and others not so chill. So if loud noise is not your jam on busy nights, you may have to pass. OVERALL: 4 stars for great vibes and just a beautiful spot!
