​Stopped by Westwood Brewing in Rathdrum for lunch recently and overall had a really nice experience. It was a bit loud inside, but honestly, that's totally normal and expected for a lively brewery! What really stood out right away was the ambiance and the decor--they've done a fantastic job making the space look great and welcoming. ​The Service: Absolutely 5 stars. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and constantly checked in on us to make sure we weren't missing a thing. You really can't ask for better hospitality. ​The Food: I ordered the Brisket Mac and Cheese. The mac and cheese itself was good, and the brisket was cooked nicely, but the dish was just a bit out of balance. The sauce and juices from the brisket were incredibly strong and completely overpowered the mac and cheese. If they dialed back the brisket juice a bit, it would be a perfect comfort dish. ​Overall, a great local spot with top-tier service and a really cool vibe. Even on a busy night you can tell they work hard to get you seated as fast as possible. Super family friendly. My husband had the fish and chips. I had the fried chicken sandwich and my daughter had the kids burger. We all were super happy with our choices! I don't say it often, but I appreciate when a restaurant prepares food for a child that is decent enough that an adult can eat it. The burger was prepared well! We will be back for sure! read more

First time trying Westwood and I can easily say it lives up to the hype. Service from start to finish was so friendly! The burger was recommended by the server and was excellent. Next level and complex all around. And icing on the cake(figuratively, I hate cake) their old fashion was also very good. Just simple, authentic flavor - a great treat for a dad with a crazy kid. We tried to go to a place down the street, but we were told there was an hour wait so we stumbled in here instead. It was a bit of a wait for our waitress to come to our table, but she was friendly enough. The food was tasty. I got the beer, braised brisket sandwich, and I expected it to be on... Bread... given that it was a sandwich, but it was more like a hamburger bun. It was a little bit sloppy, but tasty. He got the elk meatloaf and I was lucky enough to get a taste of it. It was really really good. Five star for sure. No wait for a table. Friendly enough service. Not a touristy place, but a place for a good solid meal. read more

A group of stopped by the Rathdrum location on the way from Spokane Airport to Sandpoint. We ordered avocado salads and pork tacos. The salads were fresh, large, and nicely seasoned. The smoked pork tacos were delicious! The interior is quite dark and pub-like, and the AC was way too cold, but overall we really enjoyed our lunch. read more

What a great evening with friends was had by all when we walked into Westwood Brewery in Rathdrum, Idaho on a Friday night. For dinner we ordered the Brisket Mac and Cheese (so good), Wings (I LOVED them), a Plain Jane Burger (how can you go wrong) and the Butternut Squash Pasta which was a special on the fall menu and absolutely incredible! This was my first visit here. Let's get to brass tacks, shall we? Great beer selection. The mac and cheese eggrolls are out-freaking-standing. Their Buffalo wings are on point. And the staff is awesome and friendly. I prefer the outside seating to the inside seating, as inside can get ridiculously crowded. Being crowded might be my only complaint. But it just shows you how good this place it that everybody wants to be here. read more

Nice place not your typical brewery. Total restaurant/bar setting. Friendly staff ,our waitress was very nice and helpful. Almost no wait for cocktails ( there was for of us ) appetizer followed right behind. Fish and chips were spot on and my wife's elk meatloaf was excellent. Came to Idaho to visit my Dad and he took me here for lunch and a beer. Its an old brew pub in the heart of Rathdrum Idaho( usually a good sign) A lot bigger inside with many tables, a nice bar and old mining town decor, complete with big screen tvs for the sports minded. There were many interesting choices including a deep fried hamburger! However the fried chicken sandwich peaked my interest. The server confirmed my choice as one of his favorites! What's a brew pub without an ice cold beer? I opted for a Huckleberry Blonde and it was very refreshing. The sandwich arrived with crisp flavorful Parmesan fries. My mouth watered looking at that plump chicken breast on a buttered brioche bun. It was divine!!! Succulent and crisp, it was a mouthful of heaven. The menu had some interesting choices. My dad had a brisket French dip that also looked amazing. Off the beaten track but worth a side trip! read more

Best food in N Idaho by far! Stopped in to "try" this place for the first time because it was always busy and many cars parked outside. Was pleasantly surprised with the great food! Cooked to order, fresh, hot, quality, taste, no long wait, all were superb! We went back again for a second time a week later and same experience. Great food cooked to order, no holding bins, no stale food, no prepackaged food, etc. This has become our new favorite restaurant. The only tiny niggly I could suggest is a better desert combination. We like ice cream after dinner (pie and ice cream or brownie and ice cream) and they don't offer that. I am still giving them 5 stars for the incredible food. I never give 5 stars either, so this is a first for me. read more

Brewery visit #238 for me and this one is pretty close to home so can be a regular stop, and it will be. Westwood Brewing Co is in a former bank building that now identifies, correctly I might add, as a brewery. It is welcoming both from the outside and the inside. Two rooms are set up with tables as well as bar space, and it is nicely decorated. The old bank vault is still there and appears to be storage for spirits. No, not ghosts! Whisky and such! There were four of us so we were taken to a table and ordered up beers. They have quite a list of beers on tap from all over, which included their own beers as well as beers from Iron Goat Brewing, Mother Earth Brewing, and Highlander just over in Montana. I went with the Smokestack Scotch Ale which was quite good. I'm not doing individual beers reviews this time around as I was sitting with my family and enjoying conversation, beers, and food. All three were excellent! I highly recommend WBC and we will definitely be back for more. I just wish it were a bit closer to me. Went here after recommendations from multiple neighbors. Not disappointed. It is a bar with a restaurant in old Rathdrum, in fact in one of the oldest brick buildings in the state. It is well maintained and clean. Staff are efficient and friendly. Beer cold and very, very good. The food was outstanding. Tasty, higher end bar food may be fair description, but then again seemed far more thoughtful than typical bar food. Brisket cheesesteak, elk meatloaf, and BBQ Mac. Well done Westwood! We are trying to get to as many different restaurants around the area to identify favorites for ourselves and our neighborhood food group. We came with a large group after a fundraiser and they were able to find room after a very short wait to put tables together. My fish and chips was good with Homemade tartar sauce! My husband and I decided to try Westwood Brewing Co since we live nearby. The positive reviews were helpful. The service was great and our waitress was friendly. My husband ordered the Smoked Brisket Cheesesteak Sandwich and an order of Garlic Parmesan Fries. He really enjoyed both items. I ordered the Barbecue Brisket Mac and Cheese. There was more cheese than macaroni but it was really tasty. The portions were generous enough for us to have another meal. We will definitely go back. read more

They've really improved. We got a gift card for here from church friends and decided to give it another try. The food is a lot better and the service is still really good. They must have gotten better cooks and it may also help that their menu has changed as well as the last few items we've ordered there are no longer on the menu. Overall, I'm pleased with the quality and taste of their food now. Cheat-Meal verb Meaning - the one meal a week the weight challenged look forward too... Yes, the above describes me these days. A rigid diet most of the week and one good meal where all bets are off. This week it was time to re-visit my best friend - beer and the fantastic (but sometimes unhealthy) food that goes with it. Westwood Brewing did not let me down. We went nice and early to ensure no wait, and that paid off. We walked in and sat ourselves in a moderately busy dining room. Our super fantastic waitress was there right away bringing us menu's and taking drink orders. I went right for the Conducter IPA and that's where I started the rest of the night. The Conductor was a wonderfully balanced West Coast IPA and there was no need for me to explore any further today. Up next, the fried pickle appetizer. Just plain good. Large pickle spears with a very crunchy (not soggy and not falling apart) coating, dipped in some fantastic (maybe house made) ranch. Our entree's consisted of the the smoked brisket mac and cheese, Idaho nachos w/brisket and the smoked pork tacos. Everything was well executed, with big portions, great flavor and cooked just right. Sweet potato fries are the bomb! Best anywhere I've ever had them. Happy hour is priced nicely, wish it was also a late night offering-like from 800pm to close. We've come in as our small family and as large groups and they've always been accommodating. The male server in the dining room with dark hair has always been so nice even though our group of football players make messes. The only downfall - they don't offer a gluten free bun that is also vegan and the beyond burger isn't always cooked all the way through. I always ask for no onions and every single time, regardless of the server, there is onions on my lettuce wrap MYO beyond burger. I really dislike onions, so this has been quite frustrating-Im guessing it's an issue kitchen side. We will be back as this is one of two places in town I can eat with my dietary restrictions. read more

Delicious food and good beer! Only 4 of their own brews in tap, but plenty of other Washington beers were available. We enjoyed the Hobo Hazy IPA and the smooth Steam Engine Stout. Happy Hour is 3-6 daily. There is a great menu of starters to entrees, along with monthly specials. Saturday Prime Rib starts at 4:00 until it's all gone. Plenty of street parking for this little sweet spot. Built in a historic building that used to be a local bank and imbibed with railroad decor take some time and stop in. Service was not good, very unfriendly staff (waitress and host) the beer cheese soup was absolutely awful, tasted like the beer had not been cooked down at all. The burger was definitely not bad but overall not worth the price.
