Hands down one of the best burgers we've had in the area! It's a cute little spot, so it can get crowded. We had the pastrami burger and then my daughter and I split the classic burger (it was more than enough to split!) with a side of onion rings. They were so good! Back in town and the first thing we did was go back to Penny's. Flawless, tender and tasty burgers. This time we tried the John Wayne w/fries (Penny's fave), Inside-out Cheeseburger w/salad, and Classic Marilyn w/onion rings all cooked to perfection. To top it off, Penny is a delight to interact with. Just can't get enough of this place. The only drawback is having to drive 12 hours to get here. read more

There's no need to go anywhere else for the best burger in Northern Idaho. The meat is fresh ground daily. Bring an appetite because the burgers are 7 oz of deliciousness. The classic Marilyn burger is my goto, but the southwest inspired John Wayne with onion rings and bbq sauce is fighting for top position. Today I'm having the Ricardo, grilled jalapenos, crispy fried onion, spicy mayo and pepper jack cheese. This place is a local favorite. read more

Good Lord I don't know if I have ever had a burger this good before. I am sure they are all amazing but I dig the Sinatra & Marilyn burgers. The hostess is just a doll and the chef is an artist in my opinion, my compliments to the chef because I am addicted to these burgers, I keep coming back for more!! BEST burger in the area! I was referred here by family and man!!...this place didn't disappoint! I usually look at a menu ahead of time and know what I want when I go. This time, I couldn't decide and was still undecided when I got there. I finally chose the "Grilled Cheeseburger". When it arrived, it was more than I was expecting, which was great! Their burgers are huge! Crispy bun, firm and grilled perfectly. The burger was juicy and cheese/onions dripping all around (the pics don't lie). The crazy part, when I cut it in half and the juices ran under the bun on the plate...it was still crispy and firm. The bun didn't get all soft. Then the first bite.... COME ON MAN! So good! Flavors of the grilled burger, onions, cheese all over..... perfect! Onion rings were good. Take a bite and the whole onion didn't come out like some places. Place is quaint and clean. I didn't get the name of the gal who served us, she might have been the owner, not sure. But she was nice. I visit from Seattle and this place is permanently on my list of places to go eat every time I come here! Can't wait to try another one of the many selections I couldn't decide on (HAHA!). read more

We were staying in Rathdrum for a few days and decided to give this restaurant a try (6/20) since my husband and daughter love hamburgers. We were greeted promptly by the friendly waitress (can't remember her name) and were told that they only have seating for 6 outside. We didn't complain because it was nice outside. My husband ordered the Pineapple Teriyaki burger and my daughter had the Sriracha burger, we also ordered a couple grilled cheeses & truffle parm fries. Everything was very good and absolutely no complaints. Service was fast and very friendly. I would highly recommend this restaurant and we will visit again when we are back in the area. read more

These people generally complain about everything. Complaining about their hours? Micky Ds is right down the street if you want long hours. These places have a busy time. there is no need to stay open for 1 customer per hour after lunch. I got in today at 1:30 today, there were only people at one table and me to pick up a to go order. So if you can't make it in their 4 hour window, blame yourself. read more

Loved this little gem of a place... If I wasn't looking for it we would never have found it. There is no street signage and it is part of a gas station strip. I had a friend who lives in the area that mentioned it and so I hunted it out. The burger I had was amazing and they cooked it just like I love it as much pink as possible... they have a good beer menu in big mug options. The staff was super nice. This is true hidden gem. My wife and I went to this place for the first time. We ordered different items so we can share and compare items. To our surprise they were both unbelievable. I have not been that satisfied with both items in a very long time. The place is small but huge on kindness and generous on portions, my sandwich had a cheese skirt on the outside and enormous burger on inside with all the fresh fixings. I only was able to finish a half of a half and I wanted to explode. It cam with fantastic fries I could just are stand alone. I will come back again for sure when I am hungry again which after that meal it might be a week. read more

I have been wanting to try Penny's Pit for a while now.....on a chilly rainy day, we were craving a good hamburger. So we checked out Penny's Pit. Small and quaint this little place could easily be packed at lunch time. A few tables and a couple of seats at bar is all, but greeted with a smile by the only waitress. The menu has a lot of options and the burgers all have names that made old Hollywood glamourous. We ordered the classic Marilyn (as in Monroe) and the Sinatra. Service was quicker than expected, and the burgers did not disappoint! Very flavorful and fresh! They have a variety of sides and we ordered the fries and onion rings (which were top notch!) We left empty plates and very full. Highly recommend this cool little burger joint! read more
