The service was nice. The staff member was social and asked me about the rewards for the own company she works for, I guess marketing works. My choice was the pepperoni pretzel. The portion I would say is sufficient; it's big and has plenty of meat. Very warm which added a nice element to my snack time. Looks like they make food onsite as one can watch as one mingles throughout the mall or waits in the queue. Options are always abundant with variety. You know, I did give a 5-star for my first review of this stand. So why the dramatic demotion to 1-star? When I came here last week, I was waiting in a long, long line for a pretzel. Then, when it was soon to be my turn to order, their system went down, and they could only accept cash. I got out of line for a second to get cash from a friend when it was about to be my turn, and when I tried to order, the girls at the cashier deliberately acted like I was invisible. My friend had to speak up for me, telling them that I had been waiting for a long time. So how did they respond? One of the cashier girls went, "Well, she stepped out of line, so if she wants a pretzel, she should go back to the end of the line." There must have been AT LEAST 15 people in line. My friend tried arguing for me (bless her heart and soul), but I just pulled her away to leave, because there was no point in arguing. Terrible customer service. You don't want my money? Fine. Having just returned from Zürich, I was craving some pretzels and pretzel dogs (a ubiquitous train station on-the-go snack). While I'd normally pass by a pretzel stand in the mall without stopping, recent nostalgia kicked in. Sadly, my craving wasn't satisfied. It was better than the frozen soft pretzels you can get reheated at the movies or a bowling alley, but I've had a lot better pretzels at proper pretzel stands before. Jalapeño Cheddar Dog: It was a huge hot dog wrapped in an ultra-thin layer pretzel with tons of gratinéed cheese on top. I felt a bit conflicted. Generally, I'm all for lots of meat and tons of cheese. However, I felt a little cheated that there was so little pretzel involved. At that point, why not get a hot dog from a place that specializes in them and then load it with cheese? Also, despite the jalapeños, it wasn't hat hot. Pretzel w/ Jalapeño Cheese Dip: Their pretzels seem to be missing that barley malt profile that browner pretzels tend to have. The more dominant flavor in these is yeasty, like those pre-made dinner roll doughs you can buy in a can at the grocery store. The fact that they are warm and soft were positive factors though. I did enjoy the Jalapeño Cheese Dip; it reminded me a bit of that "spicy" version of Cheez Whiz that they don't make anymore. About what you'd expect from warm processed cheese dip. read more

My first job was working for a Wetzel's Pretzels. I swear, it is true. My grandfather and I used to share the pretzels bites with cheese sauce as a child and the taste of a Wetzel's pretzels, even the smell brings back many happy memories. The Wetzel's Pretzels in downtown San Francisco is hidden. That much, I guarantee. It is on the older part of the Westfield Center. It may be hidden, but it is still delicious. Each pretzel is made with fresh dough everyday. If a pretzel isn't looking it's freshest, it is thrown away. Meaning, when you bite into your pretzel, it is always the best it can be. If it is not, you are entitled to a new one. My favorites are the bites for personal reasons, as well as the cheesy pretzel. I always get my bits with salt and I always eat my cheesy pretzel as a meal. Also, the lemonade is made from squeezing the lemons, not from concentrate. It is wonderful. They have combos and these are the best deals. I love this place, for either a snack or a carb-filled lunch. If only there were more..... read more

I buy one whenever I get a chance and this Wetzel's Pretzels is probably my only source of pretzels when I'm in school (boo :( ). Their pretzels actually aren't that good compared to other Wetzel's Pretzels or Auntie Anne's. Last time I got a Cinnamon pretzel and it had a slight taste of jalapeno cheese (my guess is that they baked them together) -really disturbing for my pretzel delight. I tried this place when it first opened and it was complete crap. I thought maybe it was just because it was new so I waited. I came back a couple months later and it was just as bad and not up to par with the rest of the Westfield Mall food. The pretzels were extremely greasy (over the top greasy). You can actually see the grease soak through the paper bag as you are walking away from their booth. The dough for their pretzels and other pretzel products are too drench in grease to taste much of anything but what you could taste is rough and rubbery. The cinnamon pretzel is overly coated in sugar (which I can understand since this is the case for most pretzel places, unfortunately) but there was hardly any cinnamon taste at all. Maybe the lady forgot...? The only positive attribute for the one star is their pretzel dog. It's also extremely greasy by the way, but for the buck, you get more meat than you do at Auntie Anne's. I would recommend Auntie Anne's (located on the second floor) over Wetzel's Pretzels. You get a slightly better deal at Wetzel's Pretzels (maybe a couple pennies) but Auntie Anne's tastes much better! read more

Super yummy - I'm absolutely plagued with a weakness yet a strong aversion for carbohydrates, especially delicious freshly made warm melt in your mouth buttery pretzels which Wetzels (unfortunately for me) pops out like pop tarts. They also have the best Lemonades & Frozen drinks in Westfield that satisfy Thirst on a hot SF September's Day. Prices are incredibly reasonable for a sweet or salty craving and this place will probably end up making Annie's Pretzels on the 2nd Level go out of business! Wetzel's Pretzels is great. I go every chance I get. For the most part the pretzel bitz are great value. However the cheese, an essential part of the wetzel bite experience, is very expensive ($1.39 per cup). Additionally, one cheese cup is not quite enough for a full order of bitz.
