    Cheese meltdown pretzel
    Sydney J.

I ordered a cheese meltdown pretzel, which tastes just like an asiago cheese bagel but less sharp cheese taste. It was decent and kind of oily without being soggy, but I do wish it was a bigger amount of food for the price. The workers also gave me a sample of cinnamon flavored pretzel which I liked since it had so much sugar on it, I'd recommend that one if you like sweets. It was located in the middle of a hallway in the Westfield mall so there's foot traffic going past it, but the line itself wasn't too long and moved fast even on a Saturday.

The service was nice. The staff member was social and asked me about the rewards for the own company she works for, I guess marketing works. My choice was the pepperoni pretzel. The portion I would say is sufficient; it's big and has plenty of meat. Very warm which added a nice element to my snack time. Looks like they make food onsite as one can watch as one mingles throughout the mall or waits in the queue. Options are always abundant with variety. Pricey but nice and take advantage of coupons and whatnot if that's your thing.

You can never go wrong with a mid-shopping snack at wetzel's pretzels. We got the cinnamon bites with the sweet glaze. Simply perfection! They did not go light on the cinnamon sugar coating and the pretzels were perfectly soft. The one comment I have is that the pretzel bites were larger than I remembered. The staff was friendly and they finished making the bites fresh very quickly. There is unfortunately not much seating inside so we walked to union square to enjoy them!

You know, I did give a 5-star for my first review of this stand. So why the dramatic demotion to 1-star? When I came here last week, I was waiting in a long, long line for a pretzel. Then, when it was soon to be my turn to order, their system went down, and they could only accept cash. I got out of line for a second to get cash from a friend when it was about to be my turn, and when I tried to order, the girls at the cashier deliberately acted like I was invisible. My friend had to speak up for me, telling them that I had been waiting for a long time. So how did they respond? One of the cashier girls went, "Well, she stepped out of line, so if she wants a pretzel, she should go back to the end of the line." There must have been AT LEAST 15 people in line. My friend tried arguing for me (bless her heart and soul), but I just pulled her away to leave, because there was no point in arguing. Terrible customer service. You don't want my money? Fine. I'm not coming back, even when there's no line. Their good pretzels have been ruined by their horrible attitude.

Having just returned from Zürich, I was craving some pretzels and pretzel dogs (a ubiquitous train station on-the-go snack). While I'd normally pass by a pretzel stand in the mall without stopping, recent nostalgia kicked in. Sadly, my craving wasn't satisfied. It was better than the frozen soft pretzels you can get reheated at the movies or a bowling alley, but I've had a lot better pretzels at proper pretzel stands before. Jalapeño Cheddar Dog: It was a huge hot dog wrapped in an ultra-thin layer pretzel with tons of gratinéed cheese on top. I felt a bit conflicted. Generally, I'm all for lots of meat and tons of cheese. However, I felt a little cheated that there was so little pretzel involved. At that point, why not get a hot dog from a place that specializes in them and then load it with cheese? Also, despite the jalapeños, it wasn't hat hot. Pretzel w/ Jalapeño Cheese Dip: Their pretzels seem to be missing that barley malt profile that browner pretzels tend to have. The more dominant flavor in these is yeasty, like those pre-made dinner roll doughs you can buy in a can at the grocery store. The fact that they are warm and soft were positive factors though. I did enjoy the Jalapeño Cheese Dip; it reminded me a bit of that "spicy" version of Cheez Whiz that they don't make anymore. About what you'd expect from warm processed cheese dip.

come here if you want cold... dry....unseasoned pretzel bitz! and if you ask for more, they will give you some attitude. it is literally only this location that has an issue.

Wetzel's Pretzels are yummy, but taste is a little bit strong. Also, the staff members are unfriendly and very slow. Even the pretzels are good, I don't think I buy their pretzels in the future. I hope they will change.

Love their pretzels!! I think I like Auntie Anne's a tad more. But if it was between Wetzel Pretzel vs Auntie Anne's...I'll go to the one that's closer. Pepperoni & Jalapeno http://static.px.yelp.com/bphoto/KGH8xeRJ00mV3GS5FH2n2w/l (Monday, February 2, 2009)

I like his bun and buy one every time I pass by. I wanted to give it to five hearts, but it was too sweet this time, and I was relieved by a cup of mango juice

Pepperoni pretzel bites! It contained more but I couldn't wait...

After a day of shopping, we stopped over here to have some pretzels! We got these pretzel bites with pepperoni on them to share and could taste the yum greasiness with each bite. Since we felt sinful for eating them, we got Jamba Juice to cut the guilty feeling in half. Note: I think their lemonades are too sweet! They can totally use less sugar to save some money on production... Yes, I would eat those pretzels again but perhaps not everyday.

The vibe is great, a feel of being transported to a neighborhood German bar restaurant, somewhere in Bavaria if you dined in. The staff is friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable of all the great dishes that is truly German. I ended up having sausages and fries with my draft fruh Kolsch beer. The atmosphere is exactly what you want from a place like this as it is lively but not loud, cozy but not cramped, and always buzzing with good energy, from the staff through to most of the patrons on any given night. The menu is a greatest-hits tour of German comfort food. The deviled eggs are a must to start your meal and the wienerschnitzel is my personal go‑to as it is crispy, moist, and so flavorful every time I've had it. The jägerschnitzel is another standout if you are feeling something a little lighter and saucier as it rich and savory in all the right ways, and the sausages are always banging and perfect alongside a big stein of beer. It's the kind of food that feels made for long conversations and slow sipping. What really elevates Suppenküche, though, is the people. The staff are super friendly and clearly know their stuff, always ready with a beer recommendation or a menu suggestion and the patrons tend to match that vibe; if you end up at the bar or sharing a table, which is pretty common if you come with a small group, you're likely to find yourself chatting with someone new before long. There's honestly no better way to make new friends in SF than bonding over schnitzel and a great German beer at Suppenküche.
