I had been thirsty for Radhaus ever since I saw it featured on Check, Please! Bay Area, so it was only a matter of time before we became regulars. It's tucked into one of the industrial-chic buildings at Fort Mason, and the setting is excellent. The outdoor seating is lovely, but if you want the best views of the Bay, sit inside. Fair warning: the acoustics in there are doing a lot. It gets LOUD. Every staff member we've encountered at Radhaus has been genuinely rad. This weekend, we were lucky enough to have the gracious Jesus taking care of us this weekend. He helped us navigate the many German beer options and, thankfully, brought us samples so we could make informed decisions. One thing we will order every time: the Brussels sprouts. They're beautifully charred and tender, with crisp little edges, then coated in a rich, velvety sauce that makes the humble brussel feel like a very serious indulgence. The sauce against those crispy Brussels is glorious. My mouth is watering just thinking about those delectable morsels. We also love the buttery pretzel, especially with the spicy mustard (my favorite) and salty beer cheese (Zak's favorite). It's a simple combination, but a very effective one. The fish and chips were our main event this time around. Crispy, hearty, and exactly what you want with a German beer. The mains are generous enough that you could easily split one, especially if you're doing what we did and filling up on Brussels sprouts and pretzel beforehand. Good beer, great food, excellent setting, friendly service. Radhaus is an instant classic. read more

Great spot in Fort Mason to get good German Beers and food. They have an outdoor seating area if you have pups and they have outdoor heating for those cold days. I really wanted to love this place because parts of the experience were excellent. The bartender was fantastic--friendly, bubbly, and genuinely welcoming. We had a lovely conversation, the coffee was delicious, and they served excellent sparkling water without charge. Those details stood out. Unfortunately, the dining room is cavernous and very loud. If you're someone who is sensitive to noise or hoping to spend time reading or working, it can be a challenging environment. Even noise-canceling headphones weren't enough for me. The reason I'm leaving three stars instead of four or five was the table service. After I'd been working quietly for quite a while, a waiter interrupted me twice to tell me he needed my table. The restaurant was largely empty, with plenty of other seating available. I repeatedly signaled that I was in the middle of something and would respond in a moment, but he continued to press the issue instead of recognizing the situation. The interaction felt surprisingly tone-deaf and unnecessary. It's unfortunate, because one staff member made me want to come back, while another made me decide to leave. read more

I'm sure Radhaus checks a lot boxes for a lot of people but many of them are irrelevant to me, namely hearty beer and hearty meats. You might think I was foolish to try it as a non-drinking vegetarian, but the Roasted Beet Salad looked strong enough to justify the visit. Unfortunately, it fell flat with AWOL lemon dressing, a dearth of goat cheese and almost-sickly sweet beets. On paper, it should be a knockout, but on the plate, only the sweetness of the beets and the bitterness of the arugula had any impact. Without the lemon or cheese to temper those flavors, it was a bit of a chore to get through. The Brussels Sprouts were a stronger dish (and I'm grateful they put the Alpine Fondue on the side), though they were a fairly generic take on ubiquitous crispy sprouts. Since I am clearly not a huge fan of the cuisine, I'll move along to the good parts. Location? Spectacular. On a sunny weekend day, there is hardly a better place to be. The dining area is boisterous and spacious, ideal for a large group (especially one better equipped for the Alpine offerings). The geography alone makes it a strong pick for certain occasions, albeit not predicated on the food itself. The service was very friendly, although both water and the bill were very slow to arrive. I won't return soon (unless guaranteed an absolute heap of goat cheese alongside the beets), but I can see why it is a worthy destination for some. read more

Radhaus has a great space with high ceilings, lots of natural light, and water views. We arrived for an earlier dinner on a Friday night (around 515pm) and there was a dj set up by the front door with uncomfortably loud music so we asked to be sat as far away as possible. That was my only hangup with this place. There's a mix of outdoor seating and indoor seating. I'd recommend outdoor seating during the day if you have a jacket because it's quieter. Indoor seating can get very loud. Pretzels - the pretzel was my favorite. It had a buttery crust on the outside and it was soft on the inside. The mustard also had a nice kick to it. Fish and chips - the batter was a little thick on the fish and chips and the oil was a little old but other than that, it's your standard fish and chips. read more

My husband and I were able to get indoor seating for brunch in a Sunday just after noon without too much issue. Views were beautiful, the staff were friendly, and the food was delicious. Always loved coming to fort mason and visit their farmers market. We decided to try out Radhaus finally as it's always packed and seemed like a fun spot. Place is large with both indoor and out sitting. Food came out relatively quick. It was my first time trying bratwurst sandwich, which was a hotdog inside a sandwich form with fries. $24 It was okay, didn't feel too special. Also got the potatoes patties with salmon. The add on for salmon was $11 making the dish $26. I feel like the food was just okay, pricy for what it was, didn't really wow me. Since it was my first time trying German food, I didn't have much expectations. read more

Went were seated by the window, which had a nice view, but a little cold. We ordered promptly and as we finished ordering, a wedding party of about a dozen people arrived. Our pretzel arrived quickly, followed by my Jaegerschnitzel. Then they completely forgot my wife's Fisch and Chips and just started taking care of the wedding party. Thank goodness we had the pretzel, because my wife's lunch wasn't served until I had finished my lunch and we had to inquire about her order twice. They did comp her lunch, but then she hardly ate any because it was time for us to go. BTW, my schnitzel was thin and cardboard like. The only tasty bit was the mushroom gravy. Very nice American German fusion with big beer selection. As a German it was fun to visit Radhaus. Lots of good beer and American-German fusion foods. It's all very tasty and the cheese spaetzle in particular was closest to real German cuisine. Everything schnitzel or doner kebab was very off the mark but definitely filling and good. The schnitzel is just rebranded thick breaded meat cutlets which were tasty but not at all what I expected (thin pounded breaded meat, prepared a particular way). I'd definitely come back. It's not authentic at all but very tasty and worth a visit. 7/10 for me. read more

The pretzel French toast was incredible it was soaked in warm cinnamon sweetness, and somehow the bread stayed crunchy even after sitting in a takeout box! You can skip the chicken sandwich. It was honestly the saddest, driest sandwich I've had in a while. The chicken patty was thin and bland, with just a tiny dollop of horseradish sauce on a pile of raw red cabbage. The bun-to-meat ratio was way off, and at $25 it felt especially painful. I wouldn't order it again even if it were free. read more

I love love love radhaus. Every time I bring friends they're always blown away if it's their first time. Recently my friend and I started a cycle social club--we've hosted 4 and this is an awesome post workout spot. We come ravenous, they're always incredibly accommodating, quick and Jesus in particular with the cool shades sends this over the top. Courteous, accurate and cool. Also, for the brunch menu (this part was new) the French toast was soooo good. I love gettin a little of everything and it all hits. There are a few tables outside and it's a nice and serene vibe. Large open areas, heat lamps and I fall in love with radhaus more and more every time! read more

Lunch here feels like a mini-vacation, the way the natural light pours in. It's also right on the water! The vibe is relaxed but energized with families, friends, and solo diners all soaking in the atmosphere. And then the food arrives, and suddenly it feels like you are eating in Germany! I really liked the food, and I went for the jagerschnitzel this time. Hearty and satisfying food with great portions. There's tons of parking, so that'll probably never be an issue. Radhaus really exceeded my expectations! We visited on a Saturday evening, and got seated right away as a party of 8. The interior was spacious, with high ceilings and huge windows. We sat at a long picnic table inside, which wasn't very comfortable but got the job done. I'm not much of a beer drinker, and was excited the see there was cocktail AND mocktail section on the menu. I chose the Die Zitronenbeere mocktail, which was super tasty and refreshing. The food menu was also unexpectedly varied, and everything we tried was great. The Oysters were fresh and buttery, and my friend loved the Haus Special Pickled & Deviled Eggs. We came back after a while before taking our fur friend to run on the Marina Green. We did not have any reservation so we just walked in. Monday is quiet so there were many empty tables for lunch. The room was kind of chilly. So we kept our jacket the entire time of dining. Our server, Claudia, was pleasant to talk to. She gave me a sample taste of the Tab 5 beer. It reminded me of Blue Moon beer. I ordered the .3L beer and the rest just had cold glasses of water for drink. For appetizers we had the BRUSSELS SPROUTS & BACON & HAUS PRETZEL & OBATZDA. The main course arrived fast and hot when I was still eating my appetizers. We had the JÄGERSCHNITZEL, FISCH UND CHIPS, PESTO FINGERNUDLN. They were delicious. My husband gave a very generous tip. I didnt think I wohld like this place at all and ive never had german food ever. I got the bratwurst and it came with sauerkraut with peices of meat. Also with mashed potatos and mustard. This combo blew me away! It was so tasty and the bratwurst was so juicy and crunchy. The potatoes went really good with it and the mustard. The gravy was a little sweet which I liked and the sauerkraut had a good kick to it. Everything just worked really well together. My total was 23 for a plate which isnt bad at all. We went on a sunday around 1 right after the craft fair so it was a 20-30 minute wait. We sat by the bar with no wait needed which was nice. Waiter was really nice but took a while to get the check. Surprised by the quality of the food they serve here, and the beer was good too. Our party made a reservation for a Saturday afternoon and were seated promptly. It's a bit noisy inside but nothing you don't expect from a big dining room. Lots of natural light come through the windows as you're at Fort Mason. There are paid parking lots around the area, but it can be quite pricy ($6-$12 for 1-2 hours on a weekend). Service was good, but they forgot 3 of our orders and we had to chase them on it. We eventually got it, but maybe halfway through our meal. The potato pancakes and French toast were great. The potatoes were thick and crispy, and you can add salmon or a single fried egg to it. The French toast was super crispy on the outside but still fluffy and chewy on the inside. For the beer, I got the dunkel and tap 7. Both were crisp and malty, and still relatively easy to drink. read more

The wait time was really long and the whole process of checking in is terrible. The same person is putting names down as well as taking folks to their table.
