    Berliner. custard filled donut.

    - 4.8: pretzel croissant: Awesome, because the inside has the same moist, chewy texture as a pretzel. You must heat it up in a convection taoster oven. - 2.5: Berliner. Overhyped. no different than any other donut, not as good as a bombolini. It doesn't have enough grease. Parking is difficult/expensive.

ham & cheese pretzel croissant was pretty good. sachertorte was also tasty enjoyed the chocolate and raspberry flavors. eating in is uncomfortable, restaurant is drafty and there's only 2 small tables and a standing bar. service was nice, there seemed to just be one person running the place.

Came by on a weekend afternoon as my friends and I were making the SF double cross trail. Tried a slice of the orange cassis cake and a pretzel. I thought the pretzel was only okay. There were a lot of things that were sold out in by the time we got there, maybe early afternoon around 1-2pm. Orange cassis cake was good. Tart and sweet but not too sweet. A good balance between the flavors. The mousse was smooth, and the cake was moist. Would love to come back to try their other offerings.

Hands down one of my favorite bakeries in the city! The bakery specializes in German pastries, so they have a lot of pretzels and other cakes that I've never tried before. They also have German coffee in the summer. The store is very small and everything gets done pretty quickly if you already know what you wanna order. I think the store also has one or two tables where you can sit and have your food.

Took someone 5 minutes to even come to the window, no line just bad customer service. It's a very small place, it's literally a hole in a wall with a walk up window. They had only two things available from the menu and we got the BlackForest cake that has great reviews. It was by far the worst piece of cake we've ever had. There was no one distinguishable flavor. I don't know how that's possible. Not chocolate, not cherry, not sweet, not cream. Could care less to try anything else they have. Everything from the location to the customer service to the product sucks.

Love love love this place. Their cheesy pretzels are the absolute best! All of the pastries that I have tried have been divine. The cakes are also really yummy and are of a decent price. I've had good service anytime I've gone in person to pick up an order, but most of the time I order on DoorDash.

High quality deliciousness. Been to Germany like 5 times and you notice things that stand out. Good beer, driving fast on the freeway, and outstanding bakery goods. This place can legit add German bakery in their name cuz they are smacking. Quality control on point to how i had it in the Homeland

Go to place for their delicious cakes, so meticulously designed and constructed for a delightful celebration of any occasion! Their mango coconut torte is sublime.

Much smaller than depicted on their website.

$11 for micro star cookies that all fit in one hand. MUCH smaller than depicted on their website.

We ordered one cherry and one apple mini pies. They are great, especially the streusel. I highly recommend the bakery. I think all of their pastries I have tried were good. The bakery has one or two tables inside, they also sell coffee and sandwiches. If you're in the neighborhood, I recommend checking them out.

Quick Summary: - Unique pastries not found anywhere else - Coffee is slightly sour but it pairs well with the pastry An acquaintance recommended me to visit this bakery. It is a cozy little bakery. At one corner of the bakery, there are two tables and chairs to sit down and eat -- and that's what we did. We ordered some Berliners and a pastry that looks like a twisted rope, and in addition we decided to eat a slice of the yogurt cake. We were afraid we won't be able to take the cake safely home. Yes, we also ordered a cup of drip coffee. Usually, sour coffee is not my type. However, with the yogurt cake, it balances out. The cake was new and different because it had a nice sour punch to it. The first bite was almost puckering level sour. The layers contain fruits and one tastes like passionfruit? Maybe that was the most sour flavor in the cake. The next is the cream, the texture and flavor didn't taste like whipped cream, so happily, this made the overall cake super light and refreshing. This day, the weather was warm and overcast, so this cake brightened and refreshed us up. On the following morning, I tried the Berliner, and I liked this one as well. Both pastries are generally light; not heavy in the gut. The custard cream was my favorite. It's like a doughnut, but lighter. A very good bakery, and if I walk around the area I'll visit and buy some of their pastries again.

How fast do the berliners sell out? Is there a particular day when there is less of a crowd?

Today (Sunday) at noon there was a PILE of Berliners still in the display case. I've been at Hahdough closer to closing and have seen only a few Berliners left. I'd imagine, however, it might depend on the day/time one visits the Konditorei how many… Read more

The vibe is great, a feel of being transported to a neighborhood German bar restaurant, somewhere in Bavaria if you dined in. The staff is friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable of all the great dishes that is truly German. I ended up having sausages and fries with my draft fruh Kolsch beer. The atmosphere is exactly what you want from a place like this as it is lively but not loud, cozy but not cramped, and always buzzing with good energy, from the staff through to most of the patrons on any given night. The menu is a greatest-hits tour of German comfort food. The deviled eggs are a must to start your meal and the wienerschnitzel is my personal go‑to as it is crispy, moist, and so flavorful every time I've had it. The jägerschnitzel is another standout if you are feeling something a little lighter and saucier as it rich and savory in all the right ways, and the sausages are always banging and perfect alongside a big stein of beer. It's the kind of food that feels made for long conversations and slow sipping. What really elevates Suppenküche, though, is the people. The staff are super friendly and clearly know their stuff, always ready with a beer recommendation or a menu suggestion and the patrons tend to match that vibe; if you end up at the bar or sharing a table, which is pretty common if you come with a small group, you're likely to find yourself chatting with someone new before long. There's honestly no better way to make new friends in SF than bonding over schnitzel and a great German beer at Suppenküche.
