The only thing that would have been better was if they had coffee and donuts for us after we got our shot (but then again, it would mean a bunch of people with no masks on, so that's probably not a good idea . . . LOL). I am already scheduled to come back again for my second shot in April, and I also will be receiving a phone call from my doctor for a "virtual checkup" soon. Cheers!

The debacle started when I attempted to add the credit union located within to the Yelp pages and it went downhill very fast. The VA as we all know is a hospital system that serves our Veterans. In Pittsburgh there are several location that you can go including the now closed Highland Drive division the HJHeinz campus located in Aspinwall, but they all tie back into this location that is in the Oakland area of the city. The address is very generic. The best way to tell you exactly where it is and by telling you that it is located across the street from the Falk School. If you still have no idea it is located on the hilltop overlooking Pitt University. If you can make your way to the Petersen Events Center, you are so close to here, go past the dorms and Greek housing and you will find the hospital. The VA offers an array of clinics, surgeries, and testing under one roof. This campus not only has the medical units but also houses a research building, pharmacy, Fisher House, and a consolidation building that holds all the behavioral health needs. Also housed within is a Patriot Store for your shopping needs, this isn't your usual hospital gift shop. Patriot Cafe for your dining needs. VA Pittsburgh Federal Credit Union for your banking needs. Two ATMs, one located at the main entrance from the parking garage and one located in the Patriot Cafe. Drop boxes for postal pick up. Starbucks coffee with a small cafe setting. Did I mention that parking is free here? When the parking is nearing capacity that is when the valet service really ramps up their service here. Also there is a bus stop located out front and shuttle service between facilities.

If you are going to Dr. Aljari for medical marijuana, I would not recommend him. First he will make…read moreyou do a drug test. So if you are already using marijuana, don't lie. Second, you pay $250 up front without knowing if you'll be approved. If it IS approved, you have to pay another $50 to the state for the actual card. It is not covered by insurance and it's not guaranteed that he'll prescribe medical marijuana, even if you have a documented history of symptoms. Third, if he does approve it, he has the option to give you a card for 3, 6 or 12 months. If he gives you less than a year, he will charge you $150 to resubmit your card. He may be a very good doctor but if your reason for seeing him is specifically to get MedMJ, it seems to me like he is using this as a way to make more money. If he is going to be one of the few doctors certified to prescribe, I wish his office would be more upfront about the costs.

I know what is wrong with me and I know what medication works for me. she insisted on doing a Covid flu swab even though I have NO symptoms of that. however I allowed it because she said otherwise I couldn't be treated. when that came back negative she wouldn't prescribe augmentin which is the only thing that works for my sinus infections, stating that they had been flagged for writing too many antibiotic prescriptions. HOW ISTHAT MY FAULT? when I told her amoxicillin doesn't work for me she then stated she didn't think I had an infection at all. then WHY BOTHER SWABBING ME AND WRITING A PRESCRIPTION FOR AMOXICILLIN? she got very condescending and talked down to me.
