Wexford came highly recommended and it didn't disappoint! We had two smooth Guinness's to start, the Goat Cheese Dip Appetizer, and the Fish Sandwich and Stew Sandwich. It was all tasty, but hands down the table favorite was the colcannon. Now for the ambiance- live music inside and out, people watching in the patio was great, but inside was truly amazing. Historical artifacts, materials sourced from Ireland, and a real friendly staff that will tell you to explore all you want. Upstairs, traditional Celtic music starts at 7 each night. Stopped in for a couple of pints on a beautiful Saturday in Savannah. Went to the upstairs bar and really enjoyed our experience. The other people at the bar were friendly and all having a good time and the bartender was welcoming and fun to chat with. The beers were great and the decor was classic Irish Pub. The inside of the restaurant looks great and the Guinness was fantastic. Disappointed in the food, I ordered the veggie Ruben and they were out. Then ordered the grain bowl, the bowl was supposed to have potatoes, avocado, beets and pepitas which were all missing. I didn't speak up, but should have. I was a bit skeptical at first when we arrived and stood outside in the cold waiting for the hostess to find our reservation and seating assignment. As she took some time I became suspicious that she was about to send us upstairs--3 of 5 of us have mobility and health issues. Sure enough we were lead to the stairway up; we balked, and the server went back to have our placement changed to a first floor location that was ideal for us! Then the evening improved. The menu offers many offerings of soups, salads, starters, hand heads, and entrees. All of them with some authentic or relative flavor connection to the Emerald Isle. We ordered the Whipped goat cheese dip and the Celtic knot pretzel with cheese. Both were delicious and plentiful. For entrees we ordered Chicken Pub Pie with wee salad, Fish and chips (cod and fries), Corned Beef and Cabbage. No complaints from anyone! All were tasty and ample servings. Service was terrific. Very pleasant server who was attentive, courteous, and efficient. The atmosphere is great Irish pub atmosphere that you could easily find in Ireland, New York, Pittsburgh, and now Savannah--the home of the 2nd largest St Patrick's Day parade in America. My wife and I went into the very heavily staffed Wexford on a Saturday afternoon and sat at the bar upstairs. After almost 10 minutes of sitting there without being acknowledged, we just left. Although several employees walked by us, including the bartender who only had 3 other parties at that bar, not a single person said hello or told us they would be right with us. Honestly, it was just weird to be completely ignored. It made me question my existence along with my restaurant choices. The next place we went took care of us immediately and reassured me that we are in fact alive and worth being waited on. Sorry, Wexford, we will not be back. read more

The bar is upscale and right as you walk in so you kniw your walking into a nice place. Very clean and business friendly. The service is outstanding!! The food is better than the service! I will be making this my top place to go eat and have some drinks going forward when i visit! read more

Most of the food was great. The Brie was nicely melted but not enough bread and other things to eat with it. Some slices of apples and bunch of grapes would have been delicious. Entertainment really specialized the lunch experience. But the cheese dip was grainy and tasted awful. Fish and chips consisted of a long piece of beer battered fish. Great crunch with every bit. Not sure if there supposed to be two slices because the other piece was glued to the first piece and had little fish. The chips were served sparingly and no malt vinegar was on the table or offered. To start, the food was great, desert was awesome. The server was also great. The only reason for leaving 3 stars is do to the hostess. Seems we were purposely sat at the absolute worst table in the house despite showing up early for our reservation. Maybe we didn't look rich, who knows. The restaurant was not busy at all, empty tables everywhere and we were sat at the only table with stools and an oval table barely big enough for 2 plates and drinks. I was wondering the Market on a Thursday at noon and saw the Wexford. Looked like a good place for a pint. Felt like a nosh so I had the Caesar salad with grilled chicken. Excellent! The next evening my wife and I popped in to check about dinner. She had the Caesar salad with shrimp and I had the Pib Sliders. Again, excellent. This restaurant was recommended by our hotel. I had the whiskey Skillet Salmon. It was THE best salmon I have ever eaten! My husband had the Shepherds Pie, also very good. We were so full, we had no room left to try any desert. Our waiter was attentive and everything was delivered piping hot. The decor was reminiscent of Irish pubs I visited in Ireland.
