Decent size Whole Foods at a convenient location with plenty of parking and 3 EV chargers that are free (but as of now don't function properly and are being replaced). I don't shop at Whole Foods a lot, but if I crave something different or new I always go here first. One of my personal favorites here is the olive bar where you can mix and match anything you want in any quantities you want. Cheese selection is also outstanding, so for a charcuterie board essentials this is the place to go! Prepped food is also quite good, though not cheap. The coffee bar however is pretty good, always fresh and a latte is just $3.50. My wife and I really like WF for many things such as a good selection of relatively healthy snacks no matter what you're in the mood for. I am a big fan of baked goods....like who isn't, right? Just the smell alone makes you wanna gobble them down immediately and without taking a breath This location is beautiful, tucked in off of Six Forks Rd and plenty of parking and well lit inside and super clean. Such a great atmosphere to walk the isles and enjoy a coffee while you shop. I had stopped in to this location for a Blueberry scone and coffee and thought I'd grab a few extra for a road trip my wife and I were taking the next day. After I purchased them and they were in a paper bag for a short time, the bag was almost covered in grease and I'm like, this is what we are eating?!?! I had no idea and was shocked at this. Makes me re-think the WF thing and what I'm really getting here. This is the place I go when I'm making one of those super healthy meals with the ingredients that I can't pronounce. Just going to Whole Foods makes me feel fancy and usually broke. Whole Foods has actually surprised me, especially now with the prime deals. Recently, they've had a buy one get one on kombucha and expensive cuts of meat for $6.99 a pound or less. Thank to deals like this we had lamb shank for Easter. I really love going and getting samples. This is also my son's favorite part of Grocery shopping. Visited last Friday with 2 coworkers. 1 of my coworkers heard that there was a great selection of natural soaps sold here so that was the "initial" reason for the visit. I've heard great things about Whole Foods but never really took the time to casually browse and shop. This place is amazing.... EXPENSIVE but amazing. I picked up a small fresh fruit cup... $7. (Geeezzzz). I put that back and continued to browse. Came across some funny looking ice cream "patty" thing. Mochi to be exact. It has ice cream inside of a doughy type "thing". I did NOT enjoy that. Maybe I expected something different idk. First time for everything. Whole Foods has a vast selection on the hot food bar. I can definitely see myself stopping by for some dinner. We moved along to the soap as we were pressed for time. I'm a huge body care enthusiast. We found soaps, sprays, lotions galore. I picked up a bar of soap for $8.00. No ma'am! I put it right back where I got it. Checkout was a breeze. If you have amazon Prime, you get a discount on select items. My cashier David/Daniel (I forgot his name) was very nice. He explained the discounts to me and was all around very friendly. There isn't a Whole Foods in my area but I will surely stop in next time I'm in the area. read more

Haven't been to Whole Foods in about three years and my last memory was of a jam packed parking lot, overly crowded small store and long lines. Happily, I visited again on a Sunday night around 7 pm and what a difference! Parked close to door, store wasn't mobbed and I was second in line to check out. Overall, Whole Foods is clean and very organized. I needed help finding something and the nicest employee went above and beyond to help me find the item. Unfortunately, two items I was told Whole Foods sells weren't at my store and the employee had never even seen them there... Anyway, got some kale (unbelievably overpriced at $2.99 a bundle), Lily's chocolates, Smart Sweets (great sugar free gummy bears), cheese and some Halo Top. Whole Foods ain't cheap, I paid $53 out the door. Holy shiz. Anyway, I'll make an occasional trip down but not often. It's a 15 minute drive and eh, overpriced and I can find comparable items elsewhere. But, I do really appreciate friendly employees and cleanliness of store. read more

Im not ashamed to say it. I have an obsession of visiting every Whole Foods in my radius of travel and each and every time I always walk away feeling like I've visited home. Insert heart emoji here. This Whole Foods market in North Raleigh offers so much more than other smaller locations which I can fully appreciate. During the pandemic, I've been looking for grass fed beef ribeyes at several Whole Foods and this location has been the only one to offer them, which puts a smile on my belly! Along with scoring these fine pieces of meat, they also had organic corn on the cobs - something I've yet to find at other Whole Food grocers. I get super excited studying each Whole Foods so that I know which location to go to for specific needs. I will say tho, their kale was not on point today. It wasn't as full and leafy as some other days but that's okay, I still stocked up and will patiently await a harvest. We all know Whole Foods doesn't have mega sales but this one did have mini sales on staples like organic ketchup and vegan cheese. Very happy about that. The cashier who rang me up was super lovely. She identified a hole in one of my potato bags which prompted her to discard it. I appreciate the detail, because I'd be quite upset to come home to discover a busted bag. She also was so helpful to explain to me how the prices on the screen work when I had a question. Wonderful experience. Wow - spacious, not crowded, plenty of selection, easy to get in and out of, plenty of parking -- do folks not know about it? Their patio is really pleasant too, and huge with lots of seating, as is the inside. The hot bar (as any Whole Foods) is the main draw for me, and didn't disappoint at all. I really enjoyed my visit at Whole Foods. The store was really clean + the staff was amazing. They have an awesome flower section. I was looking for Hazelnuts and the guy went above and beyond to make sure that I had everything that I needed. While there they had samples of their spicy crab dip and it was AMAZING! You should snag some next time you are in there. The store was well organized and everything was easy to find. I ended up parking on the side of the building (which I always luck up and get a spot there) the parking can be a little tricky so make sure you don't go around lunch time. I come from Austin with the mega Whole Foods flagship location. While nowhere near as big, I was pleasantly surprised about the size of the store. The size of grocery stores seems to vary a lot in Raleigh. The quality was good for produce and goods. I found a number of staples, especially organic, that were cheaper and/or unavailable at my usual store Publix. It was overall not nearly the shock I expected. I have a couple of general observations about stores in Raleigh, compared to Austin. The produce has a shorter shelf-life (Whole Foods included). Further from California? Prices tend to be more, especially for goat and sheep cheese. I can't eat cow cheese. What is the deal? Why is it more here? I'm used to Whole Foods salad/hot bars being much more varied than at this location. I patiently go back every so often, hoping for a change of offerings, but it's usually the omission of popular items that are replaced with less popular (a pile of red onions instead of cabbage?) Unfortunately, too, there were many empty trays of food, and many with food crusted over. This last trip I ended up with a small salad and grabbed something frozen to eat later in the afternoon. Everything else was unappetizing. The layout was odd, too. Dressings in two different places? Two tofu options available - both battered and deep fried - nothing better like some cubed smoked tofu to put on the salad. No roasted chickpeas, just straight from the can. And the hot part of the bar is often mislabeled. You may go to the 'Asian' section and find southern dishes. Some dishes aren't even labeled, including the ingredients, so if you've got food restrictions some dishes can't even be taken up for consideration. For the number of staff milling about, you think they'd be able to keep the eating area fully stocked with a wide variety of foods that vary more than one change every few months. Very disappointing location if you're coming for lunch. Unless perhaps you stop in once a year and hope they changed things up. In the meantime it'd be nice if Whole Foods kept this area clean, stocked, and they rotated in new dishes to keep things interesting. read more

Hard to believe most of these negative reviews are for real when they're talking about the employees here being rude with a tude. I have been coming to this Wholefoods for about 7+ years now on average about 6x a month. So that's probably 500+ times that I have shopped at this store and not once have I ever met one of these rude with a tude employees. Every single interaction I have had for 7+ years has been nothing but them bending over backwards to help. The prices on most items in the store are comparable to any other store in Raleigh, the "Whole Paycheck" nonsense is just that, nonsense. In fact if you shop Whole Foods correctly they're actually cheaper for anything organic than any other market on town including the much ballyhooed Wegmans which I was hugely disappointed in. Whole Foods beats Wegmans and is a far nicer shopping experience. About the only meat I buy here is whole chickens when on sale and pepperoni. All other meat I buy from Costco which is unbeatable in that department. I buy 95% of my fruit and veggies and canned goods, soaps, and such from Whole Foods. Wine I buy from Trader Joe's The one and only thing that kinda irked me in the whole 7 years is that recently they stopped doing their Thursday and Friday specials at the beer and wine bar for $2. It was so nice to come in grab a beer or glass of wine for $2 and shop. I wish they would bring that back and I am going to be petty and take off a star for that. The best trio of grocery stores in the area for what my wife and I buy is Whole Foods, Trader Joe's and Costco. This is probably one of the worst run Whole Foods I have visited. This includes many different states and many different Whole Foods. The produce people must go home around 1 and leaves us late shoppers without much to choose from. Same with the meat, they can't grind more during the day or put anything else out past 1. I go in the evening and the choices are so sparse, it is like they are disavowing a whole sector of shoppers. The food bar looks like crap most of time, been sitting there with no attention for hours so it looks like it has been heated for hours or the tray is virtually empty. My favorite was asking the person behind the fish counter if Dungeness crab comes from the west coast and she had no idea. That's comforting. What motivates the management here, I just don't get it. Mediocracy must be fine and people just keep coming back. I fit the definition of insanity as I keep coming back expecting a different result. Guess what, no change. Now having said that, when the meat is stocked, it's good if you pick right one. The produce is good, in the morning. The help is good, not overly customer focused, but fine. read more

WOW. I always avoided this place because of the stereotypes. I thought only hipsters shopped here and I'm not that fancy. Anywho. I stopped by for a specific brand of tea. I made the mistake of coming while hungry. Immediately I was attracted to the hot bar. I wasn't expecting much but it would be a nice change in tastes from my usual meals. I got the Cajun blackened chicken, the collards , macaroni and cheese, zucchini, mushrooms, squash, a salad, chocolate covered pretzels, cookies, egg salad, 3 different types of potato salad, a cream horn, and a fruit tart. Did I mention I was hungry? Long story short, this was the best 35$ meal I've ever had. I thought the chicken had pasta in it. Turned out to be caramelized onions. Delicious ! The collards were almost as good as mine (I use bacon in mine). I was shocked at the flavor levels. The macaroni and cheese was better than my grandmas. Don't tell her I said that . Both the egg salads and potato salads were tasty. Typically white potato salad is bland but they somehow managed to pack lots of flavor into such a small portion. Don't get me started on the salad bar. They have a large selection of toppings. I particularly enjoyed the pickled onions and roasted garlic. Tip: get your dressing on the side. It saves money and prevents ur salad from getting soggy. The toffee and chocolate covered pretZels are to die for. So are the brown sugar and pecan cookies. The fruit tart was light and buttery. Now that I have u hungry, on to the rest of the store. The frozen food section is a bargain. They even have tandoor chef , an amazing line of frozen Indian foods. Try the chicken tikka masala. The tea section could have more fruity options for me. But they do have a nice selection of hibiscus teas. The wine section is nice. And the produce is very fresh. Me and my family's go to when we need to go grocery shopping yet eat first. We are here today mostly to visit the salad bar and hot bar for lunch and pick up some things needed. Bright, beautiful flowers and produce greet you when you walk into this Whole Foods. My daughter, a proud member of the Kids Club goes to her designated area to grab a complimentary fruit, snack, or juice, I grab a coupon book found at the end of most aisles and also a free food sample for shopping energy. I Headed to the hot bar and pizza bar for my husband who likes the unique and varying toppings on the pizza the offer. Maybe because it's Sunday but there were some breakfast options on the hot bar . I am definitely a fan of this Whole Foods! I prefer this location over the one on Wade Ave, since it is way more spacious and it also just seems generally better kept up. We don't do all of our normal grocery shopping here since it is a little pricey, but we make sure to keep an eye on the ads to see when they have some good deals. I enjoy the cheese and bakery sections to the store. There is always something that looks delicious. We have also recently been getting our wine from here since they rival Trader Joe's two buck chuck with some 3 dollar wines. We got our fresh turkey from here for Thanksgiving and it was great quality and not too bad of a price since we got a discount for being Amazon Prime members. We placed our order online and it was a very simple pickup process. Speaking of holiday deals, they also have some decently priced real Christmas trees. I'm not sold on all the fuss with WFM. The place is okay, but it's just a bigger TJ's with a similar product line and sections of freshly prepared foods. A good deal of emphasis on "local" and organic products as well as an environmentally friendly store. for instance, the water used to flush the toilets is rainwater stored in a cistern. I'll give it "clean" up until you get to the bathrooms (they needed some attention tonight). Just for giggles, though, there's just something wrong about walking down the paper products aisle and seeing TP being labeled "recycled bath tissue" I mean you just can't help but think "Do they really recycle that stuff?" Okay, I know the answer already but really... Staff seems knowledgable and friendly. It would beat FL any day of the week, but I think much better of stores like Wegmans (road trip required), the Harris Teeter by Wake Forest and most local Krogers stores mostly due to selection and price. I am overjoyed at the opening of the North Raleigh Whole Foods. It's bigger than the Wade Avenue Whole Foods. There are some great deals going on now too. Since I had my youngest rug rat, I couldn't fully explore, like I would have liked but I did have a good peak around. I love the big produce section. I was impressed with the doors on the coolers for the salad area. The doors keep the energy down. I like that the bulk section is up and front too. I stocked up on my favorite steel cut oats. There seems to be a demo area and someone told me that there will be chefs to demonstrate recipes. The fish and meat section are large. I went during lunch. There is a large lunch crowd. There is a soup, salad, and hot bar. Like the Wade Avenue location, they will make sandwiches, sushi, and other items for lunch. I can't wait to go back kid free so I can truly explore. read more

I came here recently to order a birthday cake for my friend! I will say that I LOVED the finished product, but ordering was a bit weird. I wish they had a list of all the specialty cakes they do and the sizes that you could order off from. This was my first time ordering from here so I didn't know what my filling options were etc. The girl helping me was friendly, but I'm sure it's hard for her to just list out all the fillings. She said you can pretty much do whatever you want so I ended up going with chocolate cake with caramel filling. She messed up my order a few times when repeating it back to me so I was worried that I wouldn't get what I ordered, you don't get a slip to verify. It wasn't messed up though! Picking a design was hard as well, I wish they had photo examples of what they could do. When I went to pickup the cake I was very happy with it. The writing on the cake was beautiful!! I thought the filling would be caramel frosting but it was legit caramel. Once you cut the cake it literally oozed out, pretty awesome and delicious. Having just left working at Whole Foods in Lake Norman, I'm pretty biased on any other locations. ; ) However, this location is less than five minutes from my new home in Raleigh, so I plan on being a regular here. First impressions: Funny how the parking lot was oddly about the size of the one at Lake Norman. Beautiful layout, I love the location specific details. They have a growler bar. The hot bar / salad bar area reminded me a lot of Lake Norman in the size. So far it seems Ashley Park (in Charlotte) wins the NC prize for largest hot bar & many more offerings. However, every thing on the hot bar looked yummy & appealing. Employees were pleasant. I wasn't sure what I wanted to eat, so I just went with a sushi roll. It was delicious! This place is great for anyone that is wanting to eat healthy. Don't forget to look for the olive man! He's by the cheeses and is an expert for those snacks for any occasion! On Thursdays and Fridays they have live demos and great food samples and great live music too especially during the summer time. Sherry is one the best chefs there. My brother loves the pizza and love the garlic knots. They have the best strawberry shortcake. I could eat the whole cake in one day. Not much to really add here...I was walking through the store on Sunday and was perusing their 6 pack and growler craft beer selection on the back wall between their meat counter and cheese counter. One of the staff members came up to me and offered me a sample of beers as he stated he had four bottles open. The employees name was Jesse and come to find out he's the beverage manager for the store. He's in charge of ordering all the craft beer they carry. They have a separate "singleton" fridge to build your own 6 pack of cold beer as opposed to total wine where it's all on a shelf. The selection is wide and eclectic. Craggie beer (Asheville) growlers are in the fridge, a wide assortment of local - Lonerider, Big Boss, Mother Earth are represented. Lagunitas, Sierra Nevada (seasonal and specialty), and the now ever popular Dogfish head along with plenty of others. I believe there's 4 coolers full of beer. I'm enjoying this place more and more - just still haunted by my skepticism (see previous review). read more

Whole Foods has done something strange - they have managed to make this a "husband" friendly store. My husband goes to other groceries, but kicks and screams the entire way there and the entire time we're inside. But, Whole Foods is a whole different experience. He actually asks to go to there! (He does get quite frustrated with me as I go in to extreme beta mode while in this store, and that drives him nuts!) This store is amazing. It is packed full of people since it is so new (though I'm not sure if the new ever wears off for stores like this...), but it is so big that they can fit a whole lotta people in and it still feels manageable. We had the opportunity to tour the store the Sunday before their opening week and that was really cool to find out all the things they offered and hear about how they created the store. It is nice to know that their meats are not allowed to have extra sodium and water added - so you're getting meat for your bucks, not salted water! Score! (Side note: I was reading my Cooking Light magazine the other day and they had a story about how the meat people add sodium to chicken - I had no idea that I should be checking the sodium levels - and am amazed now when I go to buy fresh (or frozen) chicken and just how much they are adding!) Whole Foods is expensive. No doubt. I do find it annoying that they don't bother to let people weigh the hot bar. It is easy to get $10 worth of Biryani if you're not careful. The pre-decorated cakes are really good. The cake is moist and the icing is different from the regular grocery stores - it is still sweet - but it isn't gritty sweet. I won't tell you why I know this (it has nothing to do from eating a whole cake over the last week!) Bring your re-usable shopping bags - and save $0.10 per bag off your total bill. The newest Triangle Whole Foods is BIG. Enormous! And it's stocked full of fantastic goods. The produce section was full of seasonal and not-that-seasonal fruits and vegetables of all sorts, with a very strong focus on organics. Prices? Well, I bought two bundles of organic beets at WF for less than I saw as priced the day before at Harris Teeter! The bulk section is sort of oddly arranged, with large tubs of cereal grains and dried fruits on tables in addition to the usual wall dispensers. One issue -- these bins are at perfect small-child-hand-height, and little kids do love raisins. There was also what appeared to be a demonstration area, which should prove interesting. The bath and body section had bulk bath salts available as well as the usual shampoos/lotions/vitamin selections, and there was a demo of a lotion candle they carry -- coolest thing I've seen all week! It's like a solid lotion with a wick, and when it's lit it burns at a lower temperature than traditional candles so you can just dip in a finger and smooth it up. Sandalwood Rose lotion candle, you're calling my name! Latta eggs and Maple View milks are available in the dairy/undairy aisle, which features very different doors from the usual cold cases, and are supposedly extra-'green' or something. I didn't check the details, being too giddy at sighting the Maple View buttermilk (hey, pancakes for dinner rules!). The bakery and cheese departments offered a very wide selection, and the beer department had a number of small brewery and local selections from the lightest IPA to the darkest porter. Is it crowded right now? You better believe it! Parking is much more plentiful and easier than at the Wade Ave location, and the store itself seems to have more products to offer and not just a larger amount of the same products. The hot bar in particular is bigger, and there's a case where you can buy pre-decorated cakes for birthdays and similar events. I'm not sure how this Whole Foods could get less than 5 stars. It's shiny and new. Everything the Wade Ave. location has, and then some. Larger, easier to move around, helpful and enthusiastic staff, great bulk selection, and "greener." They have an large (and very organized) beer selection. Tons of local beer. Impressive wine selection too - including a nice "Under $10" section. Mason jars are used for the bulk items, rather than plastic or paper bags. This is the first Whole Foods I've seen do this. They also have a salsa bar, where you can create your own salsa, larger bath and body section, and a healthy eating specialist on hand. There seem to be a few items here and there that I'll notice they don't carry (i.e. bulk tea) - but they're more than open to suggestions. I think, because they're new, we'll still see a lot of new products appear on their shelves in the future. A very welcome addition to the triangle - and it's even made the Wade Ave. location *much* less crowded and congested! A win-win. read more

This store used to be great. Since Amazon bought Whole Foods the quality and service has been on a steady decline. My biggest complaint is that in my opinion the store is UNDER STAFFED! No express lanes were open today and now I'm told I have to slice my own $6 loaf of bread. Now for the bakery department. They used to have a great selection of HIGH quality pastries now they have an assortment of lower quality pastries. If the staffing issue does not change on the immediate future this is the end of Whole Foods for me. What a shame!!!! I used to love the shopping there. read more

I've shopped at whole food stores all over the country and they are all slightly different. I went to the north Raleigh store to buy my weekly fix of produce. I went on a Sunday afternoon which I regret. The store was so crowded and it was difficult to move without bumping into another shopper. It was also very loud as people were on the phones and kids were being kids. The produce selection was OK as its smaller than some of the other stores I've been too. I noticed the produce I bought started going bad after a day or two. I bought the produce for meals I had planned to cook within the week and I was hoping for better quality. Also I decided to buy a few cold salads from the deli and they were not fresh. I hold whole foods to a higher standard since I'm paying for the experience. After years of shopping at whole foods in Chicago I wasn't impressed with this store and will just shop at the local Harris teeter. read more

The Whole Foods on Six Forks is my fave location! As Julia H mentioned, it is huge and well stocked. I have to admit, during peak hours, it can be a madhouse, but I didn't feel the need to deduct a star for it, as the staff is able to accommodate the madness. I use this Whole Foods for most of my seasonal veggie options when I am unable to get them from my local Farmer's Market since the WF market is only open on Saturdays, sometimes the planner in me is on vacay so I have to adapt to not having items on hand. I also love that I can find anything organic and do not have to settle for any alternatives as I do in my local grocer. The prices are decent for the quality, and I feel better about my food choices when I leave. Also, they have a great selection of bulk items, so I am able to save the packaging that I am unable to avoid at other grocers. In addition, they have a wide variety of essential oils and items to make homemade recipes such as toothpaste, shampoo and conditioner, and detergent. Everything has already been said, this Whole Foods is great, and balances the line of national corporation and local grocery store. The beer selection is amazing, and they also feature homebrewing kits and knowledgeable staff. You can't write a review without including the fact that they will make you fresh guacamole as you shop. How far we have fallen.... Zero organic meet. effectively zero fresh fish. Butcher is terrible. Pretty much no lamb. Gave me terrible tips on how to prepare the roast as well. I think harris teeter has better meats at this point. read more

Pro tip: visit the wine bar first for four dollar glasses of wine or beer and shop while you sip This whole foods always has everything I need, doesn't even compare to the wade ave location. Breakfast on the weekends is lit! I think they switched out their regular chicken salad for a Sonoma chicken salad my one non veg cheat is gone so I guess that's good. read more
