Had a big and late lunch and wanted a light "dinner" and was feeling a smoothie. Of course, searching around all of the "smoothie" places had already been closed, but SoBol came through! Once I took a look at the menu I decided to do the Acai Bowl instead and was glad I did! The different textures and healthy ingredients definitely made my "dinner" exciting. The place is cute and small, with only indoor seating. I place my order and it was prepared right away. (I was also the only customer) I was hoping the açaí mixture to be a bit sweeter but the strawberries+bananas helped with that! Oh and the Nutella that I added to it too! It was a great portion Only reason why I would give it a 3/5 is because I thought it was on the pricier side. I paid $15! Is that what Açaí Bowls cost nowadays? If so, then oops! Other than that, great experience and exactly what I was looking for in a light yet filling dinner.

We were excited to finally find this spot after missing their food truck downtown and ended up pretty underwhelmed. This spot has nice smoothie and acai bowl options, but it's not anything crazy like we thought it would be. Clean restaurant, good location, and various options but our service was very poor. I got the new blue spirulina smoothie and it was just okay. Wasn't very flavorful, just something cold to drink. They could modify this recipe to be more exciting and tasty. He got a super acai bowl. The order took a long time to come out, and a man who ordered TWO acai bowls after us got his order before us and even apologized to us for getting his order first. It seemed like they neglected us and it was very weird when someone after us who got the same order (plus one more) got his first. They were also cutting the fruit as they went so the preparation was just poor.

SoBol was delicious! It was my first time trying SoBol, so I asked what the most popular item was and I ended up getting the açaí bowl. It was so good. The açaí was delicious, the granola was nice and crunchy and sweet, and the fruit was fresh. Regarding service, the two employees who were there when I came in were very nice and welcoming! They greeted me when I came in and we're very helpful when I told them it was my first time there. They were patient and let me check out the menu, then they gave me the recommendation for the açaí bowl. It didn't take long for them to make the bowl, maybe 2 minutes, but they were also not busy at all. The place is very cute with a great and inviting atmosphere. The reason I took off a star is because it was a bit expensive. With a 15% tip it came out to be $11 total. Now, the bowl definitely took longer for me to finish than it looks size-wise in the photos, but it is definitely not filling. That's probably because it's just fruit. Either way, I think $11 is pretty expensive for a bowl this size. But, I am not sure if certain ingredients cost more or are hard to obtain. Either way, I probably won't get bowls from here very often since one bowl costs more than $10. One of the employees gave me a card that will take $1 off my next online order, so I will probably use that next time. I will definitely be coming back to try their other bowls, just wish it was a little cheaper.

Fresh tasting bowl. The fruit was delicious. The granola and coconut gives the bowl a perfect crunch. The staff is friendly and courteous.

Finally made our way to SoBol! Great space, clean, and great staff. They offer açaí bowls, smoothies and other treats. I love açaí bowls and I like the they offer other flavors aside from Pitaya or Açaí. I order the pineapple mango açaí and tried the Spirulina açaí. The fruit toppings were fresh and enjoyed the flavors. Can't wait to be be back to try other items.

I went savory: a chicken salad croissant (flaky, generously filled, with a side of bow-tie pasta salad and a creamy poppyseed slaw) and a pressed caprese-style panini with tomato, mozzarella, and basil grilled to a deep golden crisp. Both solid, satisfying lunches. On the drinks, the cold brew made with Joe Van Gogh beans was great--smooth and well-balanced. The iced café au lait was acceptable, nothing memorable but it did the job. The bakery case alone is worth a stop: cannoli, cranberry almond muffins, strawberry streusel coffee cake, cinnamon rolls, brownies, and a rack of croissants. Friendly counter service and a comfortable spot whether you're grabbing a quick bite or lingering with a coffee. Worth a return visit. Prices are very reasonable.

This morning, I walked in and saw not one familiar face there, and I've come to learn all the staff walked out simultaneously weeks ago. After getting to know many of the staff over the years of frequenting there, anything to make every staff member walk out at the same time has to be big enough to leave a sour taste in your mouth. Am truly sad to see such a Raleigh staple not see the value in the community their staff created. Cheers to Joe, Brennan, Brett, amber, and all of the others past a present (shout out Tim and Casey and Jackie!) for their place in our lives over all of these years! Maybe it's because this time I'm not taking a work break amid student study breaks, but instead waiting for my animal friend to have some tests at the vet school with which this coffee shop shares a roof. Entirely different vibe at this different location. The coffee doesn't taste any different (sort of ordinary really) but the employees are different. Attitude. It's all attitude. Perhaps the difference is because this spot is frequented by people from the vet school or pet owners like me debating whether caffeine is a good idea when they're already stressed about their fur baby. Shared anxiety. That makes the employee attitude even more important. Nice people. Friendly people. The food here, simple wraps and sandwiches, does taste better for some reason. Even for institutionalized bites, it's served warm, tastes fresh (relative term, I know) and by employees who hand it to you instead of throwing it across the counter with a very much less than sincere "thank you".

I have been ordering my coffee and food with GrubHub, which is relatively smooth. My only complaint are the stickers that they attach to the coffees to identify the online customer that has ordered a coffee. The cup ends up being sticky because the heat of the coffee makes the adhesive glue gooey. This makes for an annoying coffee drinking experience, forcing you to pour the coffee into a new cup and washing the adhesive from your hands. Surely there must be a better way?
