I never had pho before and let me tell you this place was the best place to try it at! This dish was so freaking good it was beef pho and my first taste was the broth I kept scooping it not even eating anything else lol after I ate the beef and noodles it was even better! And the bowl was big enough to take some home. Although we got there late 9:15 the server still sat us which i appreciate but he was alittle rushy I did not get a chance to order anything other than my meal or browse at the menu to try an app when they closed at 10. Dined here on a Saturday night with friends as a group of four. Space is bright & inviting. Street parking is limited but there is a parking lot nearby as well. I went with the spicy beef pho. It wasn't overly spicy & the broth was super flavorful. I really liked the beef as well. I have only had pho a handful of times so I am no expert but I will say I really enjoyed it! Also, my friends who are avid pho eaters loved theirs and had no notes. I had read mixed things about the service but our server was very kind & funny (i.e made fun of a friend for asking for a fork but said it was okay once he came back and friend ate all of his noodles). I can see how humor could not translate well but we laughed about it. Overall, I really liked What The Pho and will most certainly return. read more

I've been to What The Pho twice now--both times since the establishment changed hands. I heard that previously, the food was just meh... but everyone I know who've been to What the Pho since the change over have said only good things! As for mains, I can only speak for the Pho -- I've tried both the Pho Ga and the Special Combo Pho (chicken, beef, and meatballs). Both were yummy and came with piles of the usual accoutrements--sprouts, lime, Thai basil, cilantro, and jalapeños! And don't forget the Hoisin sauce and chili oil -- must add-ins for Pho in my opinion! Btw, the only other items I've tried are the fried and fresh rolls -- yummy all around! As for the service, all of the wait staff are pleasant and knowledgeable and always there when you need them for a water fill-up. I always douse my Pho with a lot of chili oil, so I need my water refilled often! Check this place out if you're in Wilton Manors / Ft Lauderdale and in need of some yummy Vietnamese food! Beyonddddddddd glad I decided to pop in and give this place another try. Food was phenomenal and our waiter was adorable! So glad I took his suggestion and ordered everything we did. I went to this place because this was the first place I've seen that serves Pho in many years. The ambience was nice, nothing out of the ordinary but it was nice as you would expect a restaurant to be. Service was very pleasant and were on point when checking on me through out the meal. The food was quite good.....I ordered the deep fried bok choy and it was way better than I thought it was going to be. I then ordered one of the pho bowls, Ind the serving was way bigger than I anticipated, and the taste was great. Highly recommend the food. Downside was I'm not the best with chopsticks and I don't know if fork/knife/spoon were an option. (I didn't ask either.) but I think maybe the Waite staff could have asked if I was comfortable using chopsticks and if not offer utensils. But over all was a very good evening. read more

My wife and I saw this spot walking around Wilton Manors and decided to give it a try. The restaurant is simple inside with not much atmosphere or feel good energy. When we walked in, we were not greeted by anyone and the server who honestly sucks just pointed at a table and mumbled you can sit there. This guy had zero personality and absolutely no emotion. Just a blank look and barely spoke. Nevertheless we ordered the crispy wings to start. It's a nice portion of wings, but sadly very bland. Outside of being a nice portion I can't say anything good. We ordered dinner and my wife had the beef in red curry and I had the egg noodle pork and shrimp Pho. Both these dishes were very good. Both had great flavor and were nice size portions. The red curry has a little heat to it and a great flavor. The Pho broth had a sweet and salty flavor. Neither of which over powered the other. Ready good broth. Because of the dinner dishes we agreed we would go back, but definitely will ask to not be served by the same guy if he is there. What the Pho is a hidden gem tucked right into Wilton Manors! It's a small unassuming restaurant that serves awesome pho and so much more! We stopped in for lunch recently and we were told to sit anywhere. The server came right over with menus and took our drink orders. I ordered an ice cold Sapporo and it was delicious! Then i made sure to order my favorite apps. The calamari, wings and pork shumai. The calamari was perfectly battered, crispy and crunchy. The wings, also perfectly coated, came out piping hot and the duck sauce was the perfect addition to their seasoning. The shumai, fried to perfection was filled with a great balance and each one was amazing! Then on to the main attraction, the Pho! I got the spicy beef pho. The ingredients are so fresh, you can taste it. The noodles are nice and soft, the beef is tender, the broth is packed with flavor and it has the perfect amount of spice! I finished every last drop! I did not want to tip that much and when I asked why my price went up they informed me it's more expensive for them to charge me. I want everyone to know that there are cheaper places to go to. I love all the tongue-in-cheek names for the Vietnamese restaurants in the Miami area, and What The Pho certainly delivers with both the puns and the pho. It is located close to Fort Lauderdale, and has limited street parking options nearby. My boyfriend and I came here after looking for a late night meal and was happy to find this place opened after 10pm. Granted we were one of two customers, we still got very good service and generous bowls of food I got the Pho Special and my boyfriend tried their signature large bowl, aptly named "What the Pho". I think the broth was very good, certainly above average (but I have been spoiled by NYC pho so...) and they gave a lot of meat which is always welcomed. I would certainly love to come back if I am in the area again. I spy Bun Bo Hue(!) on the menu, so that's what I'd like to try next time. read more

I looked this place up while I was on vacation. I've eaten it at another place nearby but I wanted to try this place out. On top of the catchy name I was curious about the selection of food choices. When I got there, I decided on rice noodle pho with shrimp and pork. It's whole shrimp very tasty and fresh in the pork was excellent. The service is very friendly very cordial and very welcoming. It's amazing how much time the weight staff and cook come and talk to you and ask how you're doing. We had a nice really conversation and it felt like a bit but of home back in California. The ambience is decoration is phenomenal. It's really really a nice place where you can dress down or dress up, but I was also thinking it would be great for events. Due to the fresh ingredients in the great cooking skill in the flavor of all the food I give this a rare five stars. What the pho?? Are you pho real? Haha the name is mad catchy, I love it! In the downtown area of Wilton Manors lies this restaurant. The parking isn't too great as there aren't very many spots. First off, want to say that the portions are great and the broth has a nice aroma to it but there's a couple things to consider. The meat doesn't taste as high quality and the veggies plate is not enough for two people to share. They also don't have culantro. Another bad thing is they have these QR codes on the table that reflect the wrong pricing. Not gonna complain over 2 bucks up charge for each item we ordered but they should remove/update it if they want to keep it there. read more

Just had 'What the Pho,' and unfortunately, the food left much to be desired. I ordered the spring rolls, but they resembled egg rolls, and upon inquiry, I was told I ordered the wrong kind. Regardless, whether they were spring rolls or egg rolls, they lacked in flavor. Moreover, the portion size seemed disproportionate to the price, with around 10-12 dollars for just two spring rolls. (Picture only shows one of them). I also tried the pho chin, and it didn't meet my expectations. The noodles were tough to chew, and the broth was rather average. We had a delightful meal at What the Pho on Wilton Drive. Even though we arrived a few minutes before their official open time, they cheerfully let us in and told us to choose a table. We ordered several apps and entrees and the crispy Bok choy was definitely the star of the show. I enjoyed the Budha bowl as well. I'm so disappointed. I used to really love this place but unfortunately it's gone completely downhill since the last time I was here. Used to be 5 stars, now it's down to 1. I would feel awful for the employees there since it's so understaffed but they have seem to completely given up. We waited for a long time to get seated and I'm looking around thinking maybe I'll just sit down but there's dirty plates and cups all over the tables that haven't been bussed, and were not bussed until halfway into our meal. We were finally seated by a very unhappy seeming man who gave us menus that were really dirty and falling apart. The people working here seem absolutely miserable. I genuinely felt bad but then saw them talking instead of working so I didn't feel as bad. The food took about a hour to get to the table since we waited 15 min just to order and another 30-45 min waiting for the food to arrive. Meanwhile, the guy behind us is talking to the Waiter about finding a egg shell in his food and the woman sitting next to us has now asked 3 different people to order and to get them water. We asked for the check, it never came. We looked up the price and left the amount in cash on the table and walked out. Sad experience read more

Terrific Vietnamese with friendly service right on the main drag (pun intended) in Wilton Manors. It doesn't get any better than this excellent local place, and whoever came up with the funny name deserves a medal. First the food: any bun or pho combination I've tried here has been amazingly good. Both are variations on noodle, vegetable and protein bowls. Recent favorites are Bun Lemongrass with Chicken and their namesake What the Pho (sort of a meatlovers' delight pho combo). Prices are extremely reasonable...you'd have to go completely wild to get a bill more than $20, if that. Second the service: You won't find a friendlier bunch in south Florida. From the front desk to your server to the bartender, each and every visit it's always a warm smile, friendly side chats and helpful recommendations. These folks also really know their Vietnamese food! Third the location and ambience: It's located right on the main drag in Wilton Manors, easily the gayest town in Florida, if not on earth. It's just too bad there are no sidewalk tables the people parade outside the windows can be a lot of fun. So this is the rare triple threat. Great food, great service, great ambience. read more

I have been going to this restaurant since they opened. The food is fabulous, the service is very good. The only issue are the parking meters in the front. You can hardly see what it says and we wound up getting a $25 ticket we tried to use our debit card but we couldn't see what it was saying.
