[[HIGHLIGHT]]The staff are always kind and welcoming, and you truly feel like you're transported to Thailand from how authentic the food tastes and the vibe in the restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This time around there was barely any parking available in the shopping center but luckily there was only a wait of about 20-30 minutes. We were seated, greeted and served very quickly. This time around I came with a few friends and to start we had the papaya salad (not spicy {we forgot to add spice}), and the chicken wings. Both dishes were very fresh. As my main dish I ordered the Pad Woon Sen with shrimp and one of my friends ordered the Pad Thai with chicken (spicy). Both dishes were incredible and I would order them again. To drink I ordered a Thai iced tea which was rich and silky. The food here is absolutely incredible - it's a great place for a quick lunch or dinner. I've had their Spring Rolls, Pad Thai and their Massaman curry - all I would highly recommend. The only thing I didn't like about it was them hurrying us out. As soon as we finished the food, the waitress asked us "nicely" to leave so they can service the other people waiting. We weren't planning on lingering, we hadn't even finished our drinks yet, so it felt a little rushed. When my friend decided to finish her wine before we got up., they stood around staring at us until we were uncomfortable. I will come back for the great Thai food. The pineapple fried rice balanced sweet pineapple with savory curry-seasoned rice, vegetables, raisins and protein, making it both comforting and flavorful. Khao Soi is a famous northern Thai curry noodle soup with a rich coconut curry broth, noodles, meat, and crispy fried noodles on top for texture. It was our favorite. Sticky rice good, tom yum good (wife ordered two since her main course was a flop), larb was excellent and acidic. Overall Americanized. Pad Thai too sweet, Thai tea too sweet (unadjustable). Service: miss when we were there. We had 3-4 different people attend to us. Most of the waitresses were good and attentive but the first waitress we had was terrible and dodged my questions. Long story short I asked for "Thai hot" and was ignored and served a dish that had almost no spice and she gave me chilis that had no spice. Also did not get straight answers for recommendations for authentic dishes (suggesting that nothing there is authentic) Due to the Thai hot being extremely mild I would say that this place is not authentic. My usual experience with Thai hot ranges from being very spicy to burning, but this was just salty. Spent $70+ to order more dishes looking for a dish that wasn't overloaded with sugar and only found the ones I mentioned above. Makes me question what substance the higher star reviews have. Full disclosure: I have not tasted many Thai restaurants, but Larb is lauded as the best Thai restaurant in Florida. No doubt! Someone had to drive me through the menu and I was glad to have a foodie with us. Their choices were inspired. So much food!!! So delicious!! We started with the vegetable spring rolls (I am not an spring roll lover and these were awesome). The "rib" was addictive, and the Tom Kha Kai soup was coconutty delicious. In entrees my all time favorite was the Duck Curry. DELICIOSO!!!! Seriously best duck I've ever tasted. The garlic shrimp sauce was so good... I wanted a straw. But by that time I was so full!!! I didn't get to really enjoy all the other dishes that were ordered. Our server helped a lot, checked on us every moment a new entree came, everyone was courteous and happy. They were happy! We came on a Thursday and waited a little over an hour for this Michelin-recognized Thai street food spot. Thai Lettuce Wraps -- 8/10 Great flavor and a solid start. I just wished they had more acidity to balance everything out and more toppings for additional texture. We requested a side of sweet and sour sauce, which helped brighten the dish. Tom Kha (Chicken) -- 6/10 My least favorite dish of the night. The coconut milk was very dominant and took over the other flavors. I think I would have enjoyed a version with more balance between the coconut, herbs, and acidity. Duck Salad -- Star of the meal This was the standout dish. The texture was fantastic, with fresh herbs, great acidity, and a really nice contrast from the flash-fried duck. I'm usually not a huge fan of duck texture, but the crispy preparation gave it a delicious crunch and completely elevated the dish. Pad Si Ew (Pork) -- 8/10 Really enjoyed the noodles and overall flavor, but it was a heavier dish that needed something fresh to cut through it. Adding lime helped a lot. I would have loved more fresh herbs, chives, cilantro, or microgreens to bring more brightness. Khao Soi Chicken -- 10/10 (boyfriend's favorite) My boyfriend absolutely loved this dish and called it a staple curry noodle dish. Curry isn't usually my personal favorite, but he gave it a perfect score. Thai Tea Sweet, but if you like Thai tea, you'll probably enjoy it. My boyfriend loved it. Overall, we had a great experience and would come back. The food is flavorful, affordable, and there are some really memorable dishes. All the servers who work there were super nice and welcoming, which added to the great experience we had. I think we ordered too much food today. But everything we ordered was really tasty as usual. This restaurant gauges spicy level to real Thai spicy standard so unless you can REALLY eat spicy food, their mild will be enough spicy for most. Medium spicy if you want to burn your mouth in a good way From calamari, beef jerky appetizers to papaya salads, crispy rice salad, to pad thai, crab fried rice, green curry, garlic shrimp, everything we ordered today was excellent. A nice find in Ft. Lauderdale! It is a Michelin star rated in a strip mall. We found ample parking when we arrived around 5:15pm. We found ample offerings and the portions were generous. I heard so many great things about this place and was so excited to try. I love Thai food so I came hungry! Like everyone says, it's such a popular place so I feel like no matter what time you come you're gonna have a wait. I arrived around 2ish on a Sunday and there was a 40 minute wait. I think we got sat a little earlier cause we went and asked the host about an empty table we saw outside that wasn't getting sat and they gave it to us. There's lots of seating outside while you wait and a bench inside as well. You can order drinks at the counter inside and take them outside to enjoy while waiting for your table which a lot of people did. Service was great, food was great, just everything was 10/10. The servings were a lot larger than the pictures looked online so we had a ton of leftovers to bring home which I wasn't complaining about. The restaurant stayed busy the entire time with dine-in guests, takeout orders, and even a line at one point, which says a lot. Customer service was excellent and fast without making me feel rushed. There's a line here for a reason and the reason is this is probably the best Thai food that I have ever had! Larb Thai-Insan has been on my must try list for a while now. The line usually takes an hour or two, this is why we went for lunch when they first opened. The staff is so friendly and sweet. They were very accommodating. Service is excellent and friendly, except for a few hiccups like no knife to cut my pork, (but I asked and one was quickly delivered). The service was extremely attentive, and our water cups were never constantly being refilled (which was appreciated while dealing with Thai spice hahaha). I started with a Thai iced tea which was perfectly sweet & served in a measuring cup. For apps we got the spring rolls & moo ping, which we both loved. We also got papaya salad & pad see ew. I will say we went with medium level spice on the pad see ew and it was HOT. Of course that is expected but if you are sensitive to heat I would go mild or no spice. This spot was recommended to me by a client. Apparently, it was also featured on a show, "Check Please, South Florida". It's located in a shopping plaza along US-1. There's definitely enough parking. The ambiance is casual. It's definitely a great spot to grab lunch with some friends. It was bustling in there, but service was pretty prompt and the staff was very attentive. My server's name was Jackpot, and he was top notch. The cuisine is north-east Thai food. My first instinct was to pick Pad Thai. But I've had that so many times from so many Thai restaurants, I figured I might as well branch out and try something different. For the appetizer, I picked Chicken Larb and Spring Rolls. The spring rolls were pretty standard, definitely not 'something different'. But the larb! Oh my goodness, it had so much flavor. I spent three weeks in Thailand and never heard about this scrumptious dish. Had they included some rice, this could've been the main meal in my opinion. For the main dish, I chose the Khao Soi Beef. That too, was delicious. The coconut milk curry broth was mildly spicy but soothing at the same time. The boiled and crunchy noodles created a nice contrast. I was full, but enjoyed every bite. Too bad I didn't have room for dessert. The prices are very reasonable. I had a lot of food and everything came up to ~$36. There are several fantastic restaurants in that neighborhood. It's a family run business which I love and there is always a wait, but it's worth it trust me! They do insane takeout business if you are in a pinch and can't eat there. It had a great mix of veggies, and cashews to complement the chicken! It also came with a side of rice which you definitely want with such a flavorful sauce. I recently went and had a good meal....we sat outside and got the chicken lettuce wrap and a pad thai. The lettuce wrap was good, a bit small, but not bad. To me, the gold standard is still PF Chan'gs chicken lettuce wrap. This one had a nicely seasoned chicken mix, but the overall dish was small and just good...not excellent. Rated the best Thai in south Florida and for good reason. This place has been all over my timeline and my dentist happens to be near by. I couldn't help myself and ordered a healthy variety. Every dish was fresh, the staff was quick. I think we waited about 15min for a table which blew by in the beautiful south Florida weather. Loved the food but not impressed with the service. When we arrived the crowd was what we expected, and we did not mind waiting for 1 1/2 hours before being served. This Thia resturant has a reputation for offering some of the best, most authentic Thai that the one can get in the States. In this way they did not disappoint. The sausage skewers were unbelievably delicious and unlike anything I have ever tasted before. The Pad Thai was just "Stop It" good. And the Tom Kha soup may have been the best I have had. When we sat down and were greeted by our waitress and abruptly told that the kitchen is closing and we would need to place our entire order, including desert, at one time. While I understand that they closed at 10pm and the long wait put us seating around 9:45ish, it did not feel good to be rushed like this. Immediately, we wished we had gone someplace else to eat. We also didn't find the friendliness of the service to be great overall (not bad but not good). When we got to the end of out meal it seemed the friendliness picked up substantially and were even ironically asked if we wanted any dessert (despite what we were warned of in the beginning). We had a most enjoyable meal at larb Thai-isan. The one fairly big downside is that the restaurant is wildly popular and a little small ... so the wait time was around an hour for a table. The restaurant has an authentic feel, and you can see the people working in the open kitchen - including what someone described as "the grandmas in the kitchen" The service was fine, with people coming by the table to check on us and deliver the food. But it was delivered very unevenly. Some of us had entrees while the others watched, and then we watched them eat. Our companions had some meat dishes that they didn't love, but the veggie and shrimp dishes we had were quite good. And I have to say that the rice served with the curry was worth noting; it was delicious. There's a level of spiciness that this restaurant does, so if you want it mild you order with no spice. And if you order some amount of spice, it can be a little surprising. Overall, the experience was worthwhile and the food had a depth of flavor. The green curry was good. And the pad woo sen had plenty of veggies. We tried their mango sticky rice and it was good. And we tried the coconut ice cream on bread and it wasn't bad - but it was definitely unusual. read more

I'm honestly shocked I didn't write a review the first time we came here. Hands down they serve the BEST Thai food I have ever had (and I've had a lot). They offer dishes I've only seen on travel shows, the kind you don't usually find at Thai restaurants because I guess some places assume people won't order them. Not here, and I love that. Both times we've visited, the servers have been incredibly sweet and really take the time to make sure you understand what you're ordering. The second visit was especially cute because we reordered the same dishes we had before, and when our server started explaining them, we told her we'd had them already and absolutely loved them. Her face lit up when we said that, and she had the biggest smile. Must tries: Khao Soi and rib appetizer. If you're feeling adventurous, definitely try the Kanom Jeen. Been here about 3 times already and tried so many dishes and they're all so good! There was one time we went in the middle of the week and it was my husband's first time, he ordered his favorite Thai dish--Pad Thai--and he wasn't impressed. The flavors are so deep and you can tell the authenticity of each dish. Some of our fave dishes include khao soi, papaya salad, duck soup, kra pao and the massaman and red curries. Also, I've had their Thai tea and Thai coffee--both good! My husband enjoys the beer Singha. The only downsides are the long wait times (the place is small and so popular, so you can only imagine) and a couple times when we ordered mango sticky rice, either they ran out of ice cream or mangos. This place lives up to the hype and beyond. Everything we ate was so flavorful and satisfying, I sincerely couldn't believe it. Each dish had such a unique flavor profile but everything came together so nicely. If you're overwhelmed by the options on the menu, our server explained the dishes and gave great options! We were able to sit outside, which was perfect for the weather we had. Inside felt fun and bustling but some may have considered it a bit loud. I've been wanting to come here for quite awhile, but was always told how busy it was. Finally decided to just go on a Thursday to try to catch them at opening. I got there 20 minutes after they opened and almost every table was already full. I came by myself and luckily got sat immediately. After I was sat, more people started coming and had to wait. The waitstaff were very attentive and welcoming. I loved the decor and loved the music playing. I ordered: * thai coffee * moo ping (marinated grilled pork skewers served with jaew sauce) * isan sausage (fermented sausage made with pork and rice) * som tum pla ra (green papaya salad made with fermented fish sauce) * beef khao soi (coconut curry noodle soup with boiled and fried noodles) I enjoyed everything. I think their papaya salad is the best I've ever had. Honestly, I think this is the actually best Thai I've had outside of Thailand. Usually when I ask to make it Thai spicy at a restaurant, it never is. I'm Southeast Asian too and the papaya salad was definitely spicy (just like I love). I would definitely come here again! I visited this spot on vacation with my boyfriend, who comes here at least once a month and sometimes more, and it's easy to see why. We love Thai food and have tried it at many places, but he insists their duck curry is the best he's ever had. Fair warning, the spice levels are no joke, so order carefully if you're sensitive to heat. The restaurant is located in a very busy shopping center, so parking can be a bit limited. Once inside, it's vibrant, colorful, and incredibly authentic. The aromas hit you immediately and make you hungry on the spot. The dining room was packed, and the takeout area was lined with bags, which really shows how popular this place is. I ordered the Pad Thai and was slightly nervous because it can sometimes have an overwhelming vinegar taste at other restaurants, but this was honestly one of the most perfectly balanced versions I've ever had. The peanut flavor didn't overpower anything, the lime was just right, and the texture was spot on. I was genuinely impressed. I also had the Tom Kha soup, which was creamy, comforting, and exactly what I was craving. In addition to the duck curry, we ordered their popular noodle dish, Khao Soi, which was unbelievable. The chicken was so tender it fell right off the bone. We also got the shrimp in a blanket, one of his go to appetizers, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. Everything we tried was excellent. This is some of the best and most authentic Thai food I've ever had. Everything is really good from the curries to the noodles (drunken and pad Thai) to the tom kha soup! The spring rolls are super fresh and crispy! The service is always on point. Takeout normally takes around 20ish minutes and when I went in on a weeknight it was jam packed! Highly recommended Thai spot that we previously weren't able visit due to a 45min wait. We had time for the greater than 1 hr wait this time so finally got to try it! Net was our WONDERFUL server -- she was very knowledgeable about the menu & when we mentioned dietary restrictions (pescatarian, vegetarian & gluten free members) she thought of things we wouldn't have questioned like chicken broth in the soup noodles, fish sauce, and knowing exactly which dishes are gluten free (the curries and Pad Thai are gluten free). She also checked in multiple time despite it being very busy! She specifically checked in on spice/flavor, and offered extra spicy chili oil and Thai red crushed pepper to us (highly recommend both if you like spice!). Net definitely made our experience better. We got the papaya salad, red curry, massaman curry, Drunken Noodles, and mango sticky rice. Overall, the food is clearly authentic and my taste buds probably cater to less authentic Thai food with more salt and spice. So if wasn't my FAVORITE Thai, but still very good (and flavor helped with extra spice on top). There are also very limited options if you're vegetarian. The mango sticky rice was *amazing* though. I'm normally not a sticky rice fan at all, but this mango sticky rice was fabulous with somehow fresh mangoes in December and perfectly sweet rice. Highly recommend. Overall worth a visit! read more

Wow I truly don't know what to say. This place is truly amazing and we've been coming here for the last five years. Staff is beyond friendly. I feel like I'm at someone's house. The ambiance is so fun. Music is fun. The food is always fresh and hot. Something I love about them is that the prices are still fair even through all the price hikes almost EVERYWHERE else. Also the fact that they remain in their location feels intimate and cozy. It's important to plan ahead if you're going on a weekend... very busy and long waits. We gave up on our first attempt, not realizing how popular this place is! The second attempt was on a week night ... and although still busy, there was no wait. The open kitchen offers a fascinating view. Tables are inside and outside; closely packed!
