Disclaimer: I grew up in Texas, travel there frequently, and have some nostalgia for Whataburger. This location is right by my house. I have been a handful of times, mostly for my kids. The service is usually pretty slow, whether they are busy or not. Love the large soft drinks and good ice, spicy ketchup, breakfast taquitos, and that I can get jalepenos on my burger. It's certainly better than most of the drive thru options around. That said, I don't eat a lot of fast food, so if I do want a burger, I would drive a few minutes further down to Rush's--which is cleaner, faster, and tastier. read more

Decided to try this location out. The place was last a great chicken place, so the location still looked similar but very nice. Parking lot and restaurant looked clean and inviting. Walked in and staff of three were talking about random things and it took a few moments for them to greet me. Hamburger was good, the fries were too salty, but I know everyone is different so no worries. The ¢60 for cheese is wow! An extra $1.20 on a double seems too much. Still recommend. read more

Too bad you can't give ZERO stars! We are in from out of state and ran by this location to grab dinner on our way to our hotel. They served us RAW chicken!! And then wanted US to come back to pick up a 'free' sandwich! I begged and pleaded with the manager to send us a new one on Door Dash or Uber since we had no transportation. My family and I drove past Whataburger and stumbled upon their soft opening and wow, did they roll out the red carpet! Not only did the staff welcome us with huge smiles, but they surprised us with FREE MEALS for everyone in the car! Which took dinner off my hands on a MONDAY can you believe?!!! The team was incredibly friendly, proactively explaining their app deals (hello, future freebies!) and making sure we felt valued. Now, the food... absolutely 10/10! Whataburger: Juicy, perfectly char-grilled, seasoned just right. Chicken Sandwich: Crispy outside, tender inside no skimping on flavor! Everything tasted fresh, cooked to perfection, and served with genuine warmth. This wasn't just a meal; it was an experience that turned a random drive into a highlight of our week. Give it a few weeks before you go here unless you pick at good time. Kinda challenging to get a parking spot. Kiosk doesn't work properly. Being a new fast food establishment I usually don't go unless it's firing on all cylinders. Got the triple cheeseburger pretty average. Three and a half stars wait time was 15 minutes or more today. Ok, so I was raised on In and Out (if ykyk). When I moved to South Carolina and heard there was a Whataburger opening about 20min away. I went to that one a few times, but it was 20min one way so the at least a 15min wait. When they opened this one 10 min from my house, I was game. The line is waaaaaay quicker. Whatapoopybutt What to say about whataburger. I entered the drive through with hopes and Asperger's, so naive I was. The blinding light of the menu offered a false sense of heaven, my simple order of a cheeseburger, and chicken strips was swiftly placed. "You can pull up" said Honesty, little did I know i would be spend twenty shame filled hateful minutes waiting until I tasted disappointment. I reached into the moist bag with onion rings attacking my nostrils, I grabbed my squishy cold burger. As I unwrapped it like a Christmas present from Sarah, then..... I took a bite. Extreme and udder savagery filled my blood, I was rabid with hatred I couldn't stand this putrid excuse of a "burger" even the mustard was tainted with taint. The onions were unevenly chopped and distributed like the Balkans, the patty was like my heart after this meal. Cold. The soggy, wet, half cut tomatoes stained the buns making them drenched and mushy, as I forced down this abomination I wept bitterly. Then came the onion rings, which were more ring than onion, in fact it wasn't even a ring at all. To my horror it was an onion disk. I'm not the kind of person to leave reviews but after being here a couple times and with how inconsistent it's been, i feel like i have to share. As someone from Texas, I very much grew up enjoying whataburger, and even worked at one for 2 years so I was really excited when I saw they were opening up one here in Columbia! The first two times I came, food and service was amazing! After that, there's just been so much inconsistency. I've waited over 45 minutes for a single meal, i've had my order rung up wrong at least twice now, i've had food missing or not charged correctly and today was just the last straw. I use my whataburger app a lot and they had a promo for a free chicken entree with a purchase of fries/drink. I ordered my meal and ordered everything separate so it would make applying the coupon easy at the register. I get to the window, they weren't able to apply the coupon i'm not sure what happened there but it looks like the manager on shift just gave me my sandwich promo, but then i look at the receipt and i was charged for some chicken strips additionally? Again, didn't make it a big deal, I ended up waiting about 30-40 minutes for my meal and they forgot my chicken strips. I paid for them, might as well get them right? I wait another 10 minutes, and finally get all my food. As i began to eat my meal, i have a couple undercooked fries in my bag/fry box, they aren't really that warm anymore, and just overall food wasn't the best. The project and construction team did a great job with this Whataburger, location looks great. I was excited for them to up the standards like they usually do and they didn't disappoint. Food is good but service is off to a bumpy start, small things like no ketchup when requested, wrong drinks, people running in front of cars. I'm sure it's just initial staffing. Probably some of the worst service we've recieved at a fast food chain. We got our order at the drive thru, only to find half of our food missing, no fries, no onion rings. We had to wait another 5- 10 minutes to get those items and they still forgot the onion rings (again). So we had to wait another 10 minutes. We ordered a chocolate shake for our daughter but they gave her a berry shake instead. The girl working at the drive thru lane clearly hated her job and let everyone know by her demeanor. We were looking forward to Whataburger opening down the street from us. And now that we have tried it five times, we will not be going back. First time we went, close to opening, we thought, great. Convenient place to stop on the way home from work. Then the second time we drove through, they left out part of our order. We phoned when we got home, no problem, we will get it next time. Next time we went in, we got someone else's order. Drove home, called, they will make it right next time. Fourth time, we realized we had the wrong order about two blocks up the road. Turned around, went inside the restaurant, and no one was available for about five minutes. Finally, someone came to the front, and we resolved the issue, got our food, and left. Don't know what happened to the other people who got our order. Yesterday, fifth time, done. All I ordered was a chicken sandwich. Didn't check before I drove off, but wrong order...AGAIN. Obviously, to us, at least, management needs to teach their staff what the heck they're supposed to do. But no more chances. Food is okay, but not worth the headache. read more

I grew up in Texas so when my childhood friend came to visit we went to Whataburger for a nostalgic visit. It was the worst dining experience I've had in many years. The whole place was filthy- the parking lot, the floor, the table tops, the windows were even smeared and dirty. Everything looked like it had been wiped down with a dirty rag. The soda machine was not adjusted so the coke was watery. Then the food order for 2 taquitos took 20 minutes, and it was wrong. When the staff came by to bring the order she didn't have any idea what condiments we had ordered even though we went through the whole computer ordering system and it listed each condiment on the receipt. Poor customer service on top of everything. The food didn't even taste good. My husband had never been to a Whataburger and he was so disgusted that he could not understand why we went there.
