Nothing says "authentic American dining" quite like pulling up to see five teenagers being arrested outside. Lights flashing, officers everywhere, the whole scene looked like an episode of COPS: Fast Food Edition. But did that scare me away? Absolutely not. I had traveled too far, dreamed too long, and waited too patiently for that orange-and-white beacon. I was going in -- call it bravery, call it hunger, call it questionable life choices, but I marched through those doors ready for greatness between two buns. And honestly? It delivered. The burger: good. Solid. Not "best of my life," but absolutely the dependable, comforting, satisfyingly greasy masterpiece I came for. The fries: crisp and plentiful. The drink options: a soda fountain wonderland. And the spicy ketchup... the true reason I risked potential witness-statement duty. That stuff is a national treasure. This fast food joint was close to our hotel and it was open 24 hours so we had a few meals from here, including breakfast. The skinny fries are amazing and the burgers are huge!! You usually have to wait since I guess everything is made to order! The fries were so good that I even ordered them for breakfast! Inside the restaurant could be cleaner. I gave them 2 stars because I like Whataburger but after today I will never go back. I went through the drive through and they somehow just didn't get my order? So I had to order at the window. Tyson was the manager and was more rude than the employees. Their whole staff was a disgrace. No one was in line when I was and they basically cried because they had to take an order. This Whataburger is so poorly managed. I have sat in line for 45 minutes or longer multiple times when there's only three or four cars in the line. Came at midnight on a Wednesday and the staff was helpful and look like they work well together, they were laughing and shooting jokes. Lobby was nice and clean and everything was orderly and inviting. When food arrived EVERYTHING was nice and hot and tasted amazing, as it should be! I love Whataburger, especially the avocado bacon burger, but this morning I wanted breakfast. When I pulled up there was no one in the drive-thru line and there's a kiosk there with with a menu with about four hamburgers. I can't read the big menu from there so I pull up to the big menu. Well There's no speaker here and I hear the guy ask me what I want behind me. So I pull up to the second window and I had to order and wait and tied everybody up for probably a couple of minutes while they prepared my order. I've stopped here a coupe times when hanging out in Pensacola and during Covid they've maintained a good availability with reasonable service. I've never had any bad experiences at a Whataburger and besides I'd be very forgiving even if I did because the burgers are worth it. We came by Whataburger when we were visiting Pensacola. We're from Atlanta and we don't have any of these there. I loved the sauce options! I got a spicy ketchup​ from the person that came to our table to deliver condiments. So nifty. I loved that but I also didnt like not being about to grab whatever. I got a burger with jalapenos - so yum! My boyfriend got whatever their number 1 is and was plenty full on that. It was quiet inside on the weekend, not many people in there right after lunch rush. The cashier was friendly. I don't have any complaints except I wish they were here. Cheaper than Wendy's and better than McDonald's. read more

Every time I use this drive-thru I have a less than good experience. Tonight, I had the worst experience I could ever imagine, and I felt like my life was being threatened. I pulled into the drive-through and waited about 10 minutes before I got up to the kiosk. When I got to the kiosk, no one greeted me, no one said anything, it was complete silence. So I waited about five minutes. Then, the people behind me started yelling at me. Like it was my fault. And it was very scary. So I telephoned the Whataburger to ask if the drive-through was even working, and they said yes, but they were backed up. IF someone had just GREETED ME, and told me that they were backed up, and it would be 10 minutes or so, I could've told the people behind me. (TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE) But instead, I said, I didn't know what was happening because I didn't... And they were honking the horn and yelling at me and it was extremely scary and horrific!!!!. When I finally placed my order and got my burger, I had to remind them to give me my drink, and when I got home, which is two minutes away, my burger was ice cold. Like it had just come out of our refrigerator!!! I will never ever ever ever ever ever be back!!! HOW IS THIS PLACE STILL IN BUSINESS??? I think its all about the yellow burger paper. Reminds me of Frostop back in Algiers as a kid. The burgers seemed to taste better in yellow paper. Its though kind of same thing here as every burger place the older I get. I crave, I over order and over eat and I am filled with regret. So when I come to Pensacola , this is on my short list of fast food after I have eaten all the Godfathers pizza I ordered the day before in the hotel room. The food is good. Orders are always right but then again I go inside to order. Mostly because I have to pee, the other part is I enjoy going in, getting my food and leaving before the 6th car in the drive thru gets to the window. I like seeing them people loose their patience for being lazy. I have learned to avoid the "special" burgers of the month. Those are just death wrapped in yellow. I went through the drive through, and I've got to tell you that the young lady taking the order was just about the most bubbly voice I've heard in months. I posted a complicated order and she handled and delivered it without a hint of hesitation. The young lady that took our money was equally as friendly. The girl that took our orders name was Whitney. She deserves a raise. We are from Houston where we kind of pride ourselves on being polite and friendly. I love Whataburger. Although I grew up in Hawaii and lived on the West Coast where we didn't have Whataburger, I have fam in Texas so I've had these burgers all my life. Why did these close down in Tampa? I love a place that doesn't assume that everyone loves mayo. Instead they assume mustard! LOL! They aren't afraid to throw some onions on that thang. It makes for a great fast food style burger and I'd rather have this than most fast food burger chains out there. This location is near downtown P'cola. I have patronizing this particular Whataburger for YEARS. I downloaded their app so I could place my orders before I arrive as I usually order burgers or chicken sandwiches at breakfast time. There were times that the drive through took longer than expected and a couple of time my order was messed up but I continued to go there on a regular basis. Probably average 2 times a week, maybe 3. Mrs. Pam who cooked in the back was always so nice. She got to know me and my order so if there was a line she would ask if I was having a burger or chicken so she could start my order. I really appreciated that because I was headed to work. All of this come to a screeching halt about 3 months ago when I sat in the drive through for 40 minutes. There is no way to get out of the line because the drive through is one narrow lane. I was late for work and when I got to the window there was an entirely new crew at work. I was livid. If fired off a email via the app was was offered a order of fries for my inconvenience. While I thanked them for their generous offer I told them I wanted to speak to a manager or even the owner. That was 3 months ago. I will never go back. It's a shame because people know how slow they are. For fans of Whataburger, familiar pleasures: no A-frame architecture here, but the same old standard menu, the same old white-and-orange color scheme. And it's open 24 hours. Pretty basic, and unnoteworthy. What potential customers should keep in mind about this place is that there seems to be an almost constant presence of street people at this location. You'll see their junk-laden second-hand bicycles "parked" alongside the building as soon as you get out of your car. You'll see them sitting at the umbrella-shaded tables on the patio outdoors, just generally taking up space, smoking, and sometimes drinking. The homeless seem to think that the restrooms at this --- are their own personal domain. And thanks to their inclination to take whatever they can get their hands on, creamers and sugar packets, for coffee, are no longer available to the paying public to take at will, from a countertop dispenser; you must ask for them at the register. (There's no free Wi-Fi here, as there isn't at any Whataburger I've ever been to, and no plugs in the walls for phone recharging, so they're not hanging around for that.) The service here is agreeable enough: usually dutifully friendly and attentive, to the extent that you'd expect it to be, but no more. (Amazingly, the morning crew is usually slow about brewing and putting out coffee, but this is when the dining room is cleanest.) Orders, in my experience, are always correct and brought out promptly. Breakfast platter portions are small and unsatisfying, for what you pay. To me, the burgers that Whataburger serves are the kind that are likely to create a mess, what with all their loose ingredients, like chopped onions and shredded lettuce. Their buns are too sweet. And they're visually unappealing. All in all, you should have a pretty straightforward, if so-so, experience at this Whataburger. But personally, I'm done with this one. read more
