Well this is the second time eating Whataburger since I'm from Chicago now that my parents live in San Antonio I haven't had lunch and I haven't had a hamburger and this is Texas's best hamburger chain and it was near my parents new house since they left Chicago since last year. I'm eating lunch and this is all I could afford since my collision and before I head off to the Alamo in my vacation in San Antonio Texas and I head back to Old Chicago Illinois. In regards to the service it was pretty fast but beware of one of the employees was really short but was friendly. In regards to the fries I feel like it's like McDonald's but not as stale in regards to having that more than a day if you don't eat those fries it's not going to be any good cuz they're thin cut. I am now going to eat their burger and I had the double beef with one cheese Whataburger. It's good. It reminds me of a Rally's or checker burger up north in Chicago when they were popular. Service was kind of interesting in regards to that the I think the manager asked how everything was you never get that that up in the north and it's just a fast food franchise. Pretty slow to bring out your food compared to other Whataburgers I go to. It was crowded but I had a bunless burger so should be faster to prepare?? Looked good when it arrived but some of the lettuce looked bad. I would visit again as my food, minus the bad lettuce was very good. read more

This place is honestly sad. It's 4 AM, there are only two customers in the lobby, and we still waited about 30 minutes for our food. While I was sitting alone, a man from outside came in, pulled up a chair, and sat right next to me. It startled me, and then he started asking me for money and leaning in closer until he finally walked away. When the employee brought my food, I told her what happened and she said, "Yeah, he comes here all the time, tells people he's God, and we have to call the cops on him." read more

First of all the service was bad- the young lady at the pick up window didn't even attempt to greet me and then when handing me my order she was short out the window and I had to almost get off the car to reach her hand out. My order was handed to me after my drinks sat in my car for 5 minutes and then I had to sit behind the car in front of me because they hadn't gotten their order! So another 5 minutes waiting for someone to come to the window to ask them to ask the front person to move up to be told oh we are gonna give them their food now. Then why give me mine first and have me wait! Then I get home to find that none of the burgers had any condiments on them! The fires were hard and cold. I've had some bad experiences at this neighborhood whataburger but this time took the cake! read more

When I order from this location my orders have been more wrong than right. I called to let them know they forgot part of my order and the person said "ok...?did you already eat it?" And then proceeded to sound annoyed. Do better, it's fast food not rocket science. read more

Just disappointed that my breakfast was ruined by someone's carelessness. How is it even possible to make this mistake? I've been eating here for years and the last thing I wanted to do was leave a bad review. Unrelated complaint ... be sure that you wipe down drinks before you hand them to people and also be sure the lid is on tight. Do better!!! Whataburger has been going down hill in general I've noticed. But this particular restaurant is awful. I've never had a good experience here. Always slow & looks like the workers don't wanna be there. Today I ordered my meal to go from the inside. After 23 minutes the lady asked the cooks in the back if my meal was ready. She then came to me and said they are gonna start on my meal. So after another 10 minutes I had my food. So at a fast food restaurant I waited a total of 33 minutes to get my food. A lot of people only get 30 minutes for a lunch break, so this is completely unacceptable. But of course nobody will blink an eye or read this review because it's Whataburger and people are gonna go anyways. But if you do read it, this place sucks. read more

Placed an order here to pick up and it was pretty bad. The staff was messing up everyone's orders. I went to the online pick up area and they took my food to the drive thru lane. By the time I got my food it was COLD, my burger was still PINK on the edges so who knows what the middle was like, onions rings were SOGGY, my burger didn't have the sauce it was suppose to have, and their Texas toast sucks. It's like regular white bread, not thick like it's supposed to be. So I submitted a complaint all I got was a copy-paste apology letter from the manger stating they hope i go back. I still had to pay full price for my meal even though I didn't even eat it everything. Go to a different location this one is not great at all. read more

Horrible experience so far. I pulled into and ordered at the drive through at 5:05, couldn't see how many people were in front. It's now 5:35 and I am still waiting with 2 cars ahead of me. I would leave but I can't, cars on one side, fence on the other. I hope the food is good because the drive through experience had been horrible! read more

Not sure where to start... the restaurant looks like it hasn't been properly cleaned in a while. The whole restaurant was filled with the smell of either burned oil/ food in which after 30mins of sitting there waiting for our food, they decided to open a door to let the fresh air in. My husband and friend both ordered the Hatch green chili burger. The fries were cold and the burgers super greasy. I had to get up to ask when the other two burgers were going to be ready. After an additional 10mins of waiting we received the other 2 burgers with no fries. (Whataburger #1) When we asked for the fries the guy looked at us with a surprised face and walked soooooo slowly to get the fries. We also asked for the food fries to be remade and again they took a long time. Same with asking for condiments. We asked for napkins and their response was " we haven't gotten a shipment, but let me see if we might have some in the back". Who says that ??!!! The whole restaurant seemed like they walked in their own time and they seemed to be under the impression that the longer they took the more $$ they get. Very sad to know that the reviews are accurate, at this particular location which is not a reflection of the other whataburger's. Management should take into consideration all the reviews to make the required changes to bring up this location up to whataburger standards. read more

If I could give it a 0 I would. We were in line for 40 min for a 2 meals. Food was cold and hard when we got it. Burger had no flavor and buns were hard & stale. They were so slow for cold food. We were so upset , and we donated to get a free meal which we didn't even receive the voucher for. And also the drinks weren't carbonated. It's was just terrible. I wish I could've got a refund. read more

I was disappointed with this visit. Ordering was quick but the food took forever. I decided to eat in because I had some time to waste. I ordered honey butter sauce on the side and they put it on my receipt. When my food was delivered, there was no sauce. So I asked them for my sauce. After asking the second time, I was told, "There's a charge for that sauce." It wasn't until after I showed her my receipt that they brought my sauce. This could have been avoided if they sent my complete order. Inside was an average clean. I still had crumbs on my table when I sat down. The burger was average and the fries were subpar. 18 minutes to get a single Cinnamon roll. While waiting in the second drive through lane with 5 cars waiting behind me and 5 cars in the first lane getting their food on a timely basis. I called the manager supposedly in charge. Said his name was Caleb. Offered only "I'm sorry". Not a good enough excuse. An 18 year old Manager? What gives. The beans have a great flavor and even the rice (I'm just not a fan of most Mexican rice because it's bland) had a great flavor. The tortillas are the perfect thickness and are soft and warm. And of course - the green sauce - it's amazing! Our server was very friendly and prompt and the food came out quickly on a Saturday evening during prime dinner time. That's how I ended up trying Anthony Fish & Chicken, and honestly it turned out better than expected. The restaurant is located on the east side of San Antonio, which happens to be the area I grew up in. Some people who aren't familiar with the area might consider it a little rough, but in my experience those neighborhoods often have some of the best food in the city. I called in my order and was quoted about 25 minutes. It took a little longer than that, but it wasn't a problem. When I pulled up there were a grip of cars waiting for food, so clearly the place stays busy. One thing to know if it's your first time: if you don't call ahead, you order at the window. I accidentally tried going inside at first and was told they were serving through the window only, which was fair enough. I ordered the 15-piece lemon pepper chicken, which came with fries and two slices of bread. We also grabbed steak nachos at the last minute, and those didn't even make it home because they got demolished in the car. They were loaded with toppings and I'm pretty sure they used Doritos for the chips, which added extra flavor. The chicken itself was excellent. Crispy, fresh, and clearly made to order. The legs and thighs were seasoned well and the portion size was generous. A 15-piece could easily feed a small family of three or four. Between the nachos and a couple sides we made at home, it actually ended up feeding five people comfortably. The crinkle cut fries were also solid and had a nice seasoning on them, and the hot sauce they give with the chicken paired really well. When I arrived there were a grip of cars waiting, and after trying the food I understand why. Compared to my number one fried chicken spot, Chatman's Chicken, this place honestly holds its own. The chicken here is crispy, fresh, and flavorful all the way through. Another thing I appreciated was the value. I've seen places around San Antonio charging close to $20 for a simple three-piece meal, and the food doesn't even come close to this quality. Here the portions and price felt much more reasonable. Anthony's definitely has something going on. They have a solid menu with plenty of combos and options for a good price. Next time I'll probably try the wings because they looked great coming out of the kitchen. Overall this spot definitely satisfied my fried chicken craving. I'll be back again.
