Big thick shakes, just the way I like them. Didn't like the recipes in the books-wish they had shakes posted on walls as it was super overwhelming to pick. I don't like that they use the torani syrups-I wish they used natural flavoring. I wanted a bananay/coffee-the girl suggested Banana Cream Pie with coffee. Might come back but I'll be previewing the menu prior to my next visit to weed out the shakes with those awful flavored syrups. read more

After having to shovel three times to dig out from yesterday's snowstorm, my body was dragging at work today; I felt a bit sore and low on energy, and it didn't help that I had less than a full breakfast, and a somewhat skimpy lunch. By afternoon, I found myself really craving a protein shake! So, my first stop after work was What's Shakin, where I ordered a large Pina Colada shake. Always listen to your body! I felt noticeably better after drinking the shake .... This was my second visit here, and I must say, I liked this flavor much better than the blueberry cobbler shake I got on my first visit. The shake was uniformly blended, went down smoothly and had a good combination of flavors. Definitely highly satisfying from a taste and texture standpoint, and also highly satisfying for providing nutrients my body badly needed after heaving shovelfuls of heavy, wet snow. There was only one employee working, and two customers ahead of me, but the person working was friendly and efficient, and I was on my way in a jiffy. As I wrote in my first review, given the prices (about $8.50 for a large shake), my budget can't justify making this a regular stop. But, under the right circumstances (like today), on limited occasions, I do look forward to returning to try some other flavors. read more

I'm new to the area and woke up starving because I work nightshift, so I wanted a nice protein smoothie. Found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a go! NOT disappointed! Staff was very friendly, place was super clean and nice inside! They have a book of smoothies/protein shakes/ingredients you can choose from and put in your smoothies/shakes! I chose the chocolate chip cookie (small size) and the girl making my shake asked if I wanted graham cracker crumbles and a chocolate drizzle, which obviously I got. Their protein shake flavors are VERY tasty - and a better option over the McDonalds Caramel Frappes which were my favorite. I also skip Del's Lemonade to get a Fruit Smoothie at What's Shakin. So happy that I found this place. I stopped in here for the first time a few weeks ago after going running on the bike path nearby. The guy staffing the place, I don't recall his name, was very friendly and eager to help me figure out the process of ordering. They have a huge variety of healthy shakes all with calories counts listed next to their respective descriptions. I tried to the Green Monster which was a mix of spinach, and various fruits. They have literally dozens and dozens of different flavors so you're guaranteed to find something that appeals to your tastes. Whey or soy protein and additional healthy add ons such as flax seeds, etc. cost $.50 cents each. What's Shakin definitely isn't super cheap and can add up quickly dependent on what types of add ons you include but it's definitely delicious a good concept and something we need more of in Rhode Island.
