I stopped by Whealth Kitchen for lunch, and what a fantastic find. I really love their mission of using local foods - everything tasted incredibly fresh and high-quality. I went with the daily special, a chicken stew served over rice, which was the definition of comfort food. It was warm, flavorful, and hit the spot perfectly on a cold, snowy afternoon. I also couldn't resist grabbing a chocolate chip cookie, which was equally delicious. Even though the location is a little bit out of the way for me, the quality of the meal makes it worth the trip. I would definitely eat here again anytime I'm in the area and looking for a fresh, wholesome meal. read more

With all the growing businesses in JSQ area Whealth continues to be my go to lunch spot. It's nestled away from all the hustle and bustle. The food is always fresh and tasty. The farm to table approach makes for a healthy meal that tastes home cooked. My favorites to get are the soups and the salads. I recently had a grass fed beef chili was was so good. What I enjoy about this place is the friendly vibes and how the food does not taste processed or overly salted. Love the staff and everything about the place. I haven't written a review on yelp in a while. Probably because I've been lazy to be honest. So I've stumbled upon this food place because I was working onsite. On my lunch break I went to go check this place out. In the reviews it said that it was difficult to find which I actually had a bit trouble finding until I had to ask someone who kindly pointed it out. Once I found it, I was so excited to try it out. I love eating healthy so all the food items on the menu looked very tasty and of course healthy! Their food is also locally sourced!. The ambiance of the place was very nice, I can see myself coming here everyday to do work and staying for hours because they serve breakfast and lunch. They have a large menu of coffee options which includes flat whites (my favorite). Now for the best part, the food. I ordered the farm plate with chicken which included local greens, chilled quinoa, chicken and green sauce. I really loved it! The chicken was cooked right imo, it was well seasoned and cooked to the point where it's not dry. The veggies were good especially when I added the sauce. The quinoa tasted refreshing! I also ordered a 12oz black Sumatra drip coffee which I also really liked! It's my bedtime right now I usually sleep at 9 lol but I felt the need to go out my way tonight and make this review because I loved the food! I only tried the smoothie here but unfortunately I cannot vouch for it. I got the berry blast smoothie pictured here, and the ingredients were listed as fruit and yogurt. However it was not sweet at all, in the way you would expect fruit to be naturally a little bit sweet. I really do not know how to describe the taste other than it did not taste like a smoothie. Another friend also tried it and agreed that it tasted extremely off. I am definitely open to trying their other products when I am back in the area! I am so grateful to have this spot so close to my apartment. Just picked up a GF apple cardamom muffin this morning and it was still hot and fresh out of the oven??? Incredible. All of the baked goods I've tried have been great. The scones are a particular standout since they're fluffy, soft, and unlike most scones you stumble upon in coffee shops. I can't vouch for their meal delivery service but I've never been disappointed with any of the goodies I've picked up in person. Seriously, check these guys out! Seems like a socially conscious, solid spot for lunch with a really friendly staff and a caring chef/owner. The bun is light yet crispy, the chicken is paired with all the right flavors and there's not too much creaminess (that's always my biggest fear). Most important is the lovely staff. The gentleman who checked me rung me up was quick and efficient while still walking me through their rewards program. The same guy brought the sandwich out when it was ready and was very concerned with whether I had the right silverware, napkins and a water. Lady at the cash register with the round glasses was pretty rude. Maybe she was having a bad day? I was in Journal sq meeting a client and this seemed like the only nutritious option in the area. I've never been to Whealth Kitchen, but I tried the Matcha Almond scone from a local coffee shop. I was intrigued to find something that was dairy-free, gluten-free and Vegan. For $5.00, the scone was massive, basically the size of a small plate. It had crispy edges, but still remained fluffy on the inside. The matcha flavor was distinct and the touch of icing on top added just the right amount of sweetness. If I hadn't been stuffed from the night before, I would have totally inhaled this scone in one go. It was one of the softest scones I've ever had - if only they delivered to coffee shops near me! read more

The Menu contains the must-haves for a breakfast aswell as changing daily specials and sweet, homemade treats. The music is varying depending on who is in charge. I would highly recommend this dish and Whealth in general. The one thing I was most skeptical about was the apple that came with it, but it was honestly perfectly paired. Have been to Whealth a few times since my first visit & my experiences have been pleasant. It's been a perfect place to grab a cold brew and a bite after getting out or before getting on the Path (they are right next to JSQ path!) I haven't tried any of the food yet but the cold brew is darkly toasted (local coffee: Kobrick) and the pastries are fresh & soft which compliments the cold brew well. I'm not sure where the pastries are from, I don't think they make them in-house. David, the owner of Whealth, is passionate about farm to table style food and even has a farm box program offering boxes of farm fresh produce to those in the community at a super affordable price. The produce hails from the farm Whealth personally gets all their produce from, its seasonal and fresh! It's great to feel good about what you're eating. I had jury duty nearby, and immediately took to Yelp to find a perfect spot for a solo lunch in a neighborhood I wasn't familiar with. Yelp did it again, finding me a cozy, relaxing place to enjoy my break with delicious, health conscious food. Whealth was about a 5 minute walk from the court house, and I knew where to make a left turn thanks to a chalkboard with WHEALTH and an arrow pointing to its location. Upon entering, I received a friendly greeting and was told about the special chili of the day. I ordered the Whealth Bowl, which has chicken, kale, beets, carrots and cucumbers. All of the ingredients were SO FRESH and so well prepared - I really don't care for carrots, but I ate every single carrot on my plate. The iced latte I ordered was also tasty. The decor, plates and glasses had a rustic, old farmhouse vibe and were all so well curated. All in all, a great experience. After writing my review, Dave, the owner and chef of Whealth, quickly contacted me and provided excellent customer service along with an offer to stop in for the seated dinner service for my husband and I. We went last night and sat at the "chef's table". It is so clear Dave is a master of his craft. From the appetizers to main course and dessert, everything we had was tasty and detailed. My favorites included: the coconut sticky balls which had a nice crunch paired with delicious curry for dunking, and the "veg head" with eggplant and chickpeas. Creative dinner menu, great presentation and especially friendly service. Dave is a great host and my husband and I enjoyed talking with him. We will be back for dinner and will recommend to friends. Pro-tip: come for the healthy, quick lunch, stay for the vibes and hospitality. Decor - think lots of wood, fresh flowers in mason jars, and white/gray tones. Modern and cozy with soft lighting. The bathroom is decorated with frames of vintage seed packets (too cute). Freshly roasted vegetables are ambrosial. Roasted carrots that I tried were some of the of the best I have ever had. Soft and perfectly caramelized carrot sweetness. Same treatment to the roasted potatoes, with a nice bite. The spaghetti squash with arugula pesto and pumpkin seeds is the perfect fall dish - loved this one! Carnival pumpkin served in big chunks so they were creamy inside with a nutty flavor. Heritage pork is seasoned simply with a concentrated pork flavor. Poached pear, served with made in house ginger ice cream, was soft enough to be eaten with a spoon. I appreciated the order the dishes were served in, definitely a crescendo of lighter to heavier flavors, crowned with a palate cleansing gingery ice cream. Planing to stop in one AM for an almond milk latte, will review that once I try. Worth a visit if you are in the area looking for lunch or breakfast. Worth a special visit if you want to make a night checking out Journal Square. Friday night dinners are held every so often, and attract a great group. It's an intimate experience where David makes a point to come out and greet his guests. If you follow me on Yelp, then you know I am a huge fan of the original Whealth & Co at Harborside. I'd go there a couple times a week to grab healthy grain bowls, try their new specials, and occasionally grab a scone or two or three. The food is great, the positive vibes amazing. So when I was graciously invited to the soft opening of Whealth Cafe, their second location just downstairs from Journal Squared in Journal Square, I said "YES!!" without hesitation. I even took the hubs, who generally does not eat vegetables, and he cleaned his plate! The vibe of the new place has the same rustic, farmhouse, cozy atmosphere. From the menu, it looks like they serve the same kind of menu as the original Whealth and Co during the day and 3 nights a week, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, they do a supper club like dinner with fresh ingredients that David, the owner, picks at local farms that week. My faves from last week were: Grilled cheese sandwich bites with roasted carrots, goat cheese, and honey ( yummy! ) Fresh heirloom tomato simply dressed to bring out the deliciousness in balsamic sea salt Squash ribbons with proscuitto in the most delicious citrus and oil dressing ( nom nom nom) Creamy polenta with roasted corn and crispy chorizo on top.. ( OMG this is good. The creaminess of the polenta with the crispyness of the chorizo, was a texture match made in heaven) Peachy Keen dessert - drunken honey cake on a roasted peach with creme fraiche and black sesame.. so, so good. I left feeling full, satisfied, and happy. Dinner service is a great idea. This is a good place for a casual date or group dinner with your closest friends. My wife and I have been there twice already, and the takeaway of this review is that the food is just delightfully simple and well prepared, without any pre-tense of ultra rare ingredients or fancy avant garde techniques. David's team is super chill and friendly. The staff is attentive but not intrusive - they really allow you to enjoy your meal with your significant other or with your friends and family at a pace that is not rushed or manufactured. It's not an experience where you come in and feel forced to eat and get out. Highly encourage everyone to give it a try. Stopped into this place for lunch when I had jury duty. It was a mostly terrible day sitting in the court house. However the lunch I had here was incredible and really cheered me up. There is a very hipster feel in a good way with industrial fixtures. I had their chicken salad sandwich and it was one of the best chicken salads I have ever had. I had the pleasure of taking a cooking class with the owner a few years back at one of the downtown luxury buildings. Such a nice guy and super happy for him that he opened this place. I have followed Whealth on ig for a while and finally just got the chance to check it out. I now live in the jsq area and usually just commute straight to the Path. However, the other day there were major train issues so I thought it was the perfect time to bring my husband and friend to Whealth to kill some time and wait out the issues. All three of us got sausage, egg and cheese sandwiches. All three of us were very satisfied! Place was very cute, food was great quality and flavor, and staff was super nice. Only one complaint I had was that they didn't have decaf coffee. I know that I'm a weirdo and not many people drink decaf so it's probably not in their best interest to serve it, but I can usually get a decaf latte or americano in the least. Regardless, no hard feelings and I will definitely be back! The menu sounds great and I can't wait to try their muffins and their dinner options! Everyone should do their part and support this place!
