A bike shop in Boulder (I forget what it's called now but it was near the Illegal Pete's on University) told us both our bikes were totaled, which seemed drastic given my bike is mostly steel, but believable as people who don't know bikes too well. But unbeknownst to him I came in there with a pocket full of cash but he didn't seem to want to spend time selling me a bike or willing to fix my existing bike because he had so many service orders in the que. I asked him if I could ride a gravel bike he passively recommended but he said no if I wasn't going to buy today because he didn't have any others in stock and assuming he didn't want it to get dirty. For all he knew if I did ride it that day I would have fell in love with it. And I can afford to buy every bike in that store at one time multiple times over. Thank goodness for the Bicycle Broker! After a really frustrating, disappointing experience at another bike shop trying to get our electric bike repaired, Bicycle Broker saved the day. We live in Boulder and would definitely go out of our way to patronize this business again. Matt was the primary contact and did a fantastic job with communication and updates on the status of our bike. Pedego sent them the wrong part to replace the throttle and Matt called Pedego, got the correct part, repaired the bike within two hours once the part came in, and gave us a call. Matt was even generous enough to deliver our bike after hours since we don't own a truck. I had a bike that needed to be put together. A cruiser bike. I was hesitant, as I was unsure if they could help me because my bike is completely different. My bike was all parts. I had some missing screws and some other small stuff. They got the parts I needed and had it in about 3 weeks almost. I was told 1 week, but it was not mentioned there were 10 other bikes ahead of mine. I checked up on it and they clarified and I had my bike done in the 3 weeks they said. At first there was the fork that was on backwards but I took it in the next day and they had it done the following day. A gentleman that was well dressed had helped me and was very polite. Overall to put it together, it was a good deal. Pros: Good customer service, well priced parts and build. Cons: Communication-regards to time it will take to build. I don't frequently go to bike shops, but today I went in looking for a single speed/fixed gear bike. Not only did I find one I liked color wise, but Lee allowed me to give it a test drive. Then I wanted to customize it with different colored rims (went with flat orange), new handlebars, and an additional rear brake. The service from Lee and his co-worker was impeccable. They both made sure the bike was in top shape. They double checked the wheels to make sure they were true, they made sure everything was tight, and they warned me that, like all bikes, things tend to stretch and loosen during the first week of riding. He told me he would give me my first tune-up for free next week, and if I wanted to add on anything else to the bike, he told me to just give him a call and he'll have the part in a few days. Also, the price for the bike was extremely reasonable! $414 for the entire thing! Can't beat that at a large bike shop! Amazing service from Lee, and he really knows what he's doing. Quality work! I'm so happy with my new single speed Pure Fix bike! Well done, boys! I'll be coming back for sure to hang out/purchase/tweak the bike as I see necessary to really make it mine! read more

Nice people, but can't recommend the business. My wife ordered a new bike from them and they ordered the wrong drivetrain from the manufacturer. They offered to order the correct gearset and install it, which was nice. But after waiting over 2 weeks, we called and they said the parts arrived but they forgot to contact us. The owner told us that his mechanic would call later in the week to schedule the gear install. That was about 6 weeks ago. Never heard back and we are just going to deal with the bike as it is. read more

Great service. I'm very happy with my bike and the condition I got it in.

The in person service may be good but the online/distance customer service is much less than mediocre. I sent one text message about a product and i received an answer within 5 minutes. I then replied with another question, I was never answered. I decided to call and was able to speak to someone. On the phone, it was good, the guy was helpful. He suggested that I write an email that would detail some of the other questions I had - which I did no later than 45 minutes later. Since then (2 days ago), I have had no response what so ever. I tried calling but my calls were screened. I left a voice message a little over 24hrs ago and still nada... I will, of course wait and see what happens next, but so far, I am not impressed at all. read more

This place is horrible. If you buy online, don't expect to get your product anytime soon, or even at all. I ordered a set of wheels, and after a few weeks they said USPS "lost" the wheels. Then they promised to send out another set 2 day shipping the next. After another 2 weeks of nothing, I tried calling and emailing a guy named Lee that works there. He screened my calls and wouldn't reply to any emails. Its been 6 weeks now and I had to file a dispute with my credit card to get my money back. This place is a joke, avoid at all costs. Shop at some of the many other bike shops in Denver or online, but just avoid this place no matter what....unless you want to get screwed over. read more

I've been in this shop several times in response to their numerous ads on Craigslist. More than once I've been told "Oh, we sold out of those"....I stopped by a few weeks ago to look at some of their fat bikes (Surly Ice Cream Truck, Wednesday, etc) and had a nice chat with the fellow who was working that day (not the same guy I'm about to tell you about). On May 31 I stopped in again, once more about a Craigslist ad, and once more was told "Oh, those are all gone". So I spent a short time looking at what WAS in stock, and asked the manager/owner? (he was giving instructions to another employee) if a bike on the floor was in stock in MY size. He replied "Are you ready to buy RIGHT NOW?"..... Of course not, I need to know if it's even IN STOCK before I'm going to make my decision. This store frequently advertises in their Craigslist ads "free test rides" as if that's something that nobody else does. I do want to RIDE a bike to see how well it fits BEFORE purchasing it. He told me to "do some research on line and decide what I want, then talk to him." Apparently, it's a great deal of trouble to look at the inventory on the computer (or simply walk into the back room?) and SEE what's there. I already knew "what I wanted", I just wanted to know if "what I wanted" was available IN MY SIZE. I looked around for a few minutes longer, and he actually came back and asked if I had any other questions. I pointed to another bike and asked "Do you have THIS bike in MY size?". Again he asked "Are you ready to buy it RIGHT NOW?". Again I told him I need to know what's in stock to make my decision. Again he told me to research on line and make up my mind what I want. Well, that's exactly what I did. I made up my mind that I would rather not give this shop my money. After being shown twice that I won't receive help unless I FIRST commit to purchase, I'd rather drive across town, or even to Boulder, Fort Collins or Colorado Springs, and shop at a place who ACTUALLY WANTS TO HELP. I truthfully don't know who the guy was who was in charge that day, but clearly, he's in the wrong line of work. If you ask a customer "Can I answer any questions for you?"....AND THEN WON'T ANSWER THE ONE QUESTION THE CUSTOMER ASKS...your customer service is horribly deficient. The only other employee visible that morning was "busy" tearing up cardboard boxes and putting them in the trash...maybe HE should have been helping me in the shop instead of the guy I ended up with... I DID end up purchasing a Surly fat bike....but not from this shop. read more
