First person smelled terrible and brought me the same shoes like 3 times when I asked for different ones, I asked someone else and they brought me the same shoes as first. Neither person who worked in atheistic shoes department knew what cross fit meant. This place can not hire good employees because pay is cheap and treat them terrible. Dicks lost my order and claimed it was my fault. I had a confirmation number to prove I ordered the bag that I needed and that didn't matter to them. They had the bag in stock so there should never have been an issue picking it up. They were unwilling to call their customer service department, as I later did, and found proof, using my confirm number, that I indeed paid for my order. We had to drive back and forth a couple times due to their mistake, costing not only time but a bunch for gas too. I thought a small 10% rebate ($7) would be nice as a courtesy for the inconvenience and our wasted money on gas. It was a matter of principle at this point. The manager insisted that it was my fault and wouldn't even consider a $7 rebate. Customer service is dead. Retail is dying and it is a shame. Store employees like these are just exacerbating the problem. I'll shop elsewhere. read more

Soooo, called this morning to have cup placed at the register for easy quick pick up. Neal stated he would have it at the cash register. Arrived to pick it up, not at the register, employee left to 'get it'. 10 minutes later, she said they were looking for it. Left. Also, during this time of wearing a mask...staff allowed a non-masked man to stand at the register sneezing, several times, without acting on it. Holy crap. Am I writing this review from inside Dick's Sporting Goods still waiting for help? One may never know. So I went to Dick's today (Awful name by the way) because I needed some clothing for tennis. It's a pretty big sport, so you would think that a store as big as Dick's would have tennis clothing. They may, they may not. Nothing is labeled in the store. It's awful. Tennis clothes aren't so obvious that you know you're looking at them when you may be in front of them. What Dick's did have a lot of was audit tags all over everything, which made the store look really classy. I attempted to get help, but a pack of mouth breathers obviously felt that it took three people to unlock a softball bat. They then disappeared into the back to shave each others backs, or whatever mouth breathers (None of whom looked in shape for any sport other than bowling) do when they're grunting around the backroom. Not wanting to purchase a golf shirt when I wanted a tennis shirt, I asked the pro-activ commercial at the counter if I could get some help in Men's clothing. She asked me where I would like to be helped, if I knew where the Tennis section was I wouldn't need help. I told her I would mill around. No one came for help, i was getting desperate because when you want a sweat repellent shirt you just GOTTA have it. I rang the service doorbell and waited, no one came. I did the desperate look that you give people when you need help but you aren't sure if they work there or not. The Dick's employees wear Green polo shirts, only some don't. It makes it very difficult to know who is going to help you, and who thinks you're in a store called Dick's cruising for dudes. If you were walking around Dick's with a key around your neck and do not work there, I apologize for staring at you desperate while holding onto a pair of silky shorts. Eventually I found their tennis section in their 3000 square foot mens clothing department. The selection was AWFUL. There just can't be that many size small and medium men walking around. Eventually when school let out another pro-activ commercial was finally in the men's clothing section and I walked out with a pair of shorts, though not tennis. I had to say no to the 4" inseam shorts they sell for tennis for fear of picking up an exposure charge (One you can explain away to the ladies, but two!?). In the end, Dick's can just never be profitable. Aside from having staff that's hanging out in the back playing magic the gathering, there is just far too much stock for them to ever sell in while its still popular. I wouldn't be surprised to see a pair of bell bottoms on the sales rack. I will never go back, I just needed shorts in a pinch and the experience was awful. How can there be a need for a 50,000 square foot sporting goods store? There were 3 customers in the store at 4pm, Next time I will just shop online at a tennis specialty store. read more

"Welcome to Dick's, where the customers get the shaft." I borrowed that from a former employee at the Flatirons Crossing Dick's. This describes not only this store, but all other Dick's. The service is always subpar, especially when you really need it. There are never any associates around when you need help. They will walk right past you when you need a dressing room, shun you when you need some shoes in your size, and give you the death stare when you actually want to buy something. Not a good selection of pretty much anything here. Both the men's and women's selection is slim, and prices are high. That may not be Dick's fault though, since brands like Nike and Adidas ridiculously mark up their clothing. Head to the sales rack before looking at anything else. You might find something great in your size, but I'm guessing you won't. Get with it, Dick's. Shouldn't an outdoors store in Colorado, which people claim always has the best scenery for outdoor activities, have a better selection? Lots of (free) parking here, though. I don't understand why people pay to park on the street when there's not one, but two different parking lots where it won't cost you a dime. Impractical Belmareans. Just made that up. It's patented. Here's why I hate Dick's Sporting Goods -- and this is not exclusive to just this store. The layout: Rather than be set-up like a proper sporting store with ski area in one place, running gear in another, etc., the stores are set-up by brands. So, unless you know and care that you get Reebok specific running pants, you're going to be really confused trying to see what's the best fit and price. The service: Is there any sporting knowledge necessary for hiring the sales staff at Dick's? I swear, I know more than any single person I've ever asked for help. The prices: It's not cheaper than anywhere else and, at times, even more expensive. I would rather just go to a department store if I'm not getting the benefit of knowledgable staff (like at REI or specialty store) or the ease of options (like everything in one area). I decided to stop in while in Belmar for the Italian Festival just to get out of the sun and ended up trying on some shoes I've had my eye on for a bit. They didn't have a good selection in women's shoes (boo) so I tried on some men's since they're just sneakers and pretty interchangeable unless you want pink or something....pink would've been nice now that I think about it. The woman who helped me with the shoes was great! She gets 5 stars all to herself. She helped me with styles and their functions, colors and prices. Then she laced them up and made sure they were a good fit. I usually go to places like DSW so I'm not used to that kind of service. I like! When I finally picked a pair and went to the register the cashier noticed that I had two different size shoes. Oops. After all of the checking around in back and not finding the correct size left shoe she says (and I'm not kidding here), "You tried them on and liked them. Do you want to buy them this way anyway?" -seriously. Um, no. I would prefer to spend $85 on two shoes that are the same size, thanks. The 5 star sales woman came to the 2 star cashier's rescue though. She ordered them online for me and had them shipped to my home. No extra charge. Tada! So everything worked out well for me and I have a nice comfy new pair of sneakers. I just hate to be the person who walked out of there with 2 different size shoes and never noticed. -You know it happened. read more

I had my new spinning rod wound with new line earlier this year at Dicks. My first time out with it (6months later) my line was instantly a tangled mess. I messed with it for an hour or so, sitting beside the river, but only made it worse. I finally packed up and drove back to Dick's. I had just purchased a 2018 Toyota Rav4 and was looking to buy some roof rack cross members and I remember seeing some at Dick's a few years ago and I decided to check them out and to do some price checking. The first salesman who approached seem to be confused and directed me to the bike racks and I told him not bike racks, just some cross members for my roof rack. He then asked another salesman in the back who stated that yes they do have some cross members in the back and that it would fit on my 2018 Toyota Rav4. What he brought out was 2 cross members taped together with the keys sticking in one of the locks. They were not in a box and no labels at all. I ask again, will this fit on my 2018 Rav4 and he said; " Yes ! It will fit without a doubt." When I got home and tried to fit the cross members on my car, not only where they too wide the key would not come out of the lock unless it was unlocked. I suspect that the reason this salesman LIED to me is because these cross members are pieces of SHIT that no one wants, so that he's not stuck with them. I took them back and got my credit back the same day. I will never go to any place that has sales personal that find it necessary to LIE to their customers just to make a sale. I bought an elliptical as a Christmas present for my husband and myself. The store was great, I worked with Nick who was awesome. I paid a good amount of money for them to deliver and set it up because I thought it would be easier and more convenient. WRONG. They work with a third party delivery business who has been a nightmare. Calls back and forth, cancelled delivery dates, no one following up to reschedule, me on the phone constantly, so not worth it. I now have to wait two more weeks. I would have rather saved the money and struggled through it myself. Dear Dicks, drop the third party company and do it yourself. I already spent a good amount of money with you and am now regretting it. UPDATE; called the store, spoke to the manager, John, and he was completely understanding and took care of it. He easily refunded the delivery and setup fee and we now have the plan to pick it up and do it ourselves. Thank you John! read more

I came in yesterday to this location looking for a Jersey for my significant other. Needless to say, they didn't have the jersey or size I was looking for. I wanted to have this jersey by Saturday to exchange as a gift for a date night. Mike then approached me asking if I needed any help. I told him my situation and he offered to look up the jersey, see what he could do and possibly have it ordered and shipped to my home in time. Prices are competitive. Parking a breeze. You have to ask for assistance, the millenials just aren't into customer service. However, the salespeople who care are very helpful. Parking was AWFUL (we ended up sneaking into the parking lot at the Target across the street), but the store was nice. I bothered a sales associate to pull a pair of shoes from the back after falling in love with a gorgeous pair of Joan of Arctic boots by Sorel. Beautiful, but way out of my price range. Kudos to that same gentleman for having the courtesy to retrieve the boots a SECOND time when I left the store and came back half an hour later (I'd been obsessing about them). I do get the problems stated about service and staff, as I attempted to actively count staff while we browsed, and I spotted ~4 employees in the 35K+ ft^2 store. Perhaps this is a boon for the browser who doesn't want to be bothered by over-eager sales staff, but no doubt frustrating for someone looking for assistance and specific fittings for custom equipment. read more

I'm not a lover of cookie cutter and big box, but Dicks is a WAY better choice than Sports Authority. I was pleasantly surprised with the service @ Dicks. As a Colorado native, my experiences with Sports Authority and Gart Bros before that were always horrible. (Dave Cook was way better :)) So, Dicks I found refreshing, and I have had good experiences there, contrary to the other reviews. E.g., I was routed to to 3 separate Sports Authority stores looking for Nike Shox; each store assured me the next place had it. I even made them call and check. I still got screwed, I went to Dicks and a had a very knowledgeable guy in the shoe dept that did a great job fitting me, with the shoes I wanted. BTW - the lead that got me into the store was a $10 off a purchase of $25 on the back of my ticket from the Rapids who play @ Dick's Sporting goods Park. read more
