the number 5 on a cake

Quite a big bakery with from beverages and pastries. They sell fresh bread and pastries. There are muffins, pies, cakes, cookies, brownies, and more. Friendly staff and clean place with their own parking space outside. The taste and style of the cake is more European. Simple and sweet, but tasty.

Cute bakery with lovely presentation on their baked goods that taste good. Got a couple breakfast sandwiches and muffin to share for breakfast. Muffin was kinda tasteless but definitely freshly made. Breakfast sandwiches needed salt. Expensive for what you get, but for what is available in Gibsons, pretty good. Service was absent minded but they were teenagers who were trying their best. Cozy, small place with a lot of IKEA furnishings, silverware and decor with a cabin theme. Free wi-fi. Starbuck's was Mr. B's favorite for coffee and we prefer the smaller independently owned coffee shops and Fox and Oak is a gem. Located in downtown Squamish, really on the outskirts of downtown. This tiny little spot has a long bar with seating and then a lovely patio. The staff at the register taking orders both times was so friendly, helpful and offered great recommendations. On our first visit it was a latte for Mr. B and a Chai Latte for me, both were creamy, filled with rich flavor without being bitter. We also shared a maple walnut donut. Oh it was so good. I can't say the last time I had a donut, but when in Canada, maple anything is always so good. The donut was light and had a lovely maple glaze on the top and then toasted walnuts. So good! On our second visit, we had the same drinks, the same Maple Walnut Donut and added a blueberry fritter. The fritter was crunchy on the outside, after the first bite we could see the layers of dough much like a croissant and in the middle were loads of fresh blueberries. Wow, fresh berries and not a sweet fake blueberry gel. It truly was scrumptious. Parking is on the street and can be tight, but both times we found parking even with a short walk. Which was good to walk off our donuts and pastries.

Opting for the Basted Basic, you can't mess up a solid plate including a nicely sized biscuit, a good portion of bacon, perfectly poached eggs and freshly mashed avocado. Wifey enjoyed her eggs benny, while my son was just happy to receive a squishy pig toy with his Piglet Pack (kids meal). They also have so baked sweet or savory pastries to go as well. There is both limited internal and outdoor seating, so I could imagine how packed it can be at peak hours. Order at the counter, and they'll deliver your items, and bus your own table (one of the workers graciously offered to do it for us).

I got the Basted Baker Hash with Salmon added to it. B got the beef roll. B said the beef roll was super tasty and flavorful. I really liked my Based Baker Hash. It was a very big bowl with potato hash, spinach, onion, mushroom, pepper, avocado, salmon and a poach egg. The place makes its own ketchup in house. They also sell their ketchup in a bottle for take home. The restaurant looks small but they do have a patio area in the back. Plenty of free parking on the street or at the back.
