Box of goodies!

Sweet and stuffed is how you'll feel after a visit to Breka! We tried a variety of pastries and loved some more than others. Start with the maple pecan donut, the pillowy soft dough is a perfect bed to host the thick, maple icing and generous nut dip. Another nut choice that we all agreed on was the gf peanut butter cookie, a perfect amount of chewy and crumbly. The croissant rounds out our top three. Save your calories: skip the monster cookie, avoid the banana bread. While both look enticing behind the case, flavor was not a hit. Cafe is cute, tightly spaced and not a stay all day environment.

Location out near UBC on 4th. Parking is available in the attached strip mall lot. This location is honestly on the cramped side. Looks pretty popular with students. The downstairs area is for ordering, and most of the seats are upstairs. There are also some tables outside in front. If you've been to this chain, you already know they make good pastries and cakes and doughnuts. Decent coffee too. Not sure what else to say about this place, other than that you can't really go wrong.

Earl grey cream puff 8.52/10- this was so good, the earl grey flavor was incredibly evident and I love how they coated it frosting on top in addition to the cream inside. I wish the cream was more of a custard but this was still banging and incredibly fresh Tiramisu 7.58/10- okay this was so good tbh I really loved the lady fingers in it and the chocolate was so rich in flavor. I normally enjoy frozen tiramisu and this was not cold granted I ate it like hours later but still fire Chocolate Mousse 8.79/10- I love chocolate mousse and I'm pretty picky about it but WOW this was absolutely divine. The chocolate tasted like it came from Switzerland- high quality fr Pistachio Apple Strudel 6.87/10- not a fan of the crystallized sugar it had but the apple jam was phenomenal and I loved the flakiness of the puff pastry. Couldn't really taste the pistachio but still very yummy The Italian pocket 5.67/10- okay this was good and I loved the different meat flavors but it was honestly too cheesy for me. Also warmed it up hours later in the microwave so it wasn't as flaky as it was given to me Turkey sandwich ?/10- honestly not sure how this was but I heard it's banging White chocolate raspberry Mocha 7.13/10- this was good but I wish the expresso was a bit stronger. It was VERY sweet and I love sweet stuff but it was a bit too much tbh. I really loved the taste of white chocolate raspberry though. This cute bakery has so many sandwiches, pastries, and drinks to offer and it's open 24/7 which is great. Everything is also so fresh and quite gourmet. They also have a great study lounge upstairs. Service is awesome and it's a pretty popular place however quite quick with your order especially for how high quality everything is. Not too expensive either for what you get

Rating this place on the food alone, I'd rate it four stars. Many well-above average items and a decent selection. Items that are often too sweet at other places aren't too sweet here. Overall, a good but not outstanding bakery. But being open 24/7 makes this five stars if you ever want something outside of normal bakery hours.

This is really a 3.5 star place- it's 24/7 and with that comes a loss in quality. But it's a charming place perfect for students. We came in on a snowy rainy day. The Mediterranean rooibos tea is delightful and the apple fritter was perfectly sweet and decadent without being greasy. Everything else was meh average. The sun-dried tomato loaf looked great but was dry and flavorless and the ear grey shortbread cookie was somehow dry and chewy. No snap of a short bread. It's a great location, lots of seating area and the staff is friendly enough!

I love the positive, communal vibes here, it's open 24/7, but no matter what time you visit it feels like you're stepping outside of the passage of time for a while. They have an awesome wide selection of sweet and savoury baked goods (and I literally mean wide - the display case stretches across a whole wall and a half), and a smaller but interesting collection of sandwiches, as well as coffee, tea, and cider. I really enjoy all of their baked goods! Lots of unique flavour combos all around and portions are generous. The tofu walnut melt sandwich is also one of my favourite coffee shop sandwiches around. I think it's nice that the first floor is designated as laptop-free while the upstairs allows laptops, so you get to choose the experience you prefer. It's really busy at any time of day so expect to have a hard time finding a seat on either floor.

I feel like I've been going to Breka Bakery for as long as I can remember. When I used to live in Point Grey I was walking distance to this location. They are right next to the No Frills, but have their own unit. There are two levels here with a spiral staircase. Not only do they have amazing patisseries, they also have pastries, donuts, cookies, as well as savoury sandwiches and coffee. They're really a one stop shop cafe with spacious seating. This location can get busy and loud, but they have huge windows with lots of light coming in so it doesn't seem crowded. I also go for their single serving cakes and bring them to dinner parties or visiting friends and family. They are decently priced (not much more than if you were to buy it at Whole Foods or Stong's). Compared to other Patisseries in town, they definitely give good value for your money.

Great 24/7 bakery and cafe! Hubby and I have been going back to this location for weeks as they have a wide selection of baked goods, sandwiches and drinks to satisfy you. We love their donuts especially the dulce de leche donut with white chocolate glaze -- sweet and fluffy, perfect with coffee. Their coffee drinks are pretty good too and priced well. Sandwiches are tasty and grilled upon order and served with a pickle stick. Service is good, sometimes there's only one person at the register and making coffee so a queue can form and sometimes there's three people there - register, drinks and sandwiches. They have two floors of seating available -- ground floor where it is supposed to be a laptop free zone and the second floor where the bathrooms are and a wee bit more quiet. Tables can be filled quickly especially during the lunch rush. Free wifi is available too.

Breka is one of the places that opens for 24 hours so if its late and you dont know anywhere to go, you should come to breka for some bakery stuff and coffee stuff. Late but still crowded with people hanging out or studying. Food was good for 24 hours and place was quite chill too. Cheers!

First time visiting this Breka location, and it's a whole different world than the one on Fraser! I loved how spacious, lively, and bright it was in here, and I really thought that the staircase and high ceiling at this location makes the whole place look very luxurious. The baked goods were lined and displayed clearly, and it allowed for me to easily choose what I want. My partner and I got the tiramisu and the Mediterranean panini and both were amazing!! The cake in the tiramisu was moist and soaked with flavour, but i just wished that there were more cake parts rather than the moussey parts. I didn't expect much from the panini because it just looked like a regular panini in the fridge, but I was pleasantly surprised at how cheesy and meaty the panini came out to be! It was perfectly toasted and was super fresh. Definitely will return to this Breka to try all their other delicious goods!!

We didn't stick around as we were on our way to the Pacific Spirit Regional Park trails. However, the setting of the café was enchanting enough for me to come back with my husband two days later for Sunday breakfast. We ordered our americanos, breakfast croissant, and breakfast sandwich and found a table in the courtyard outside the chalet-looking building of the café. There is small park in the courtyard along with about half a dozen tables. It was still rather early on a Sunday morning before 0930. It was quiet but neighbours were starting to emerge for their morning coffees, yoga stretches and dog walks. The americanos were rich. Good sign before we tasted our coffee: they were not served in mugs, foamy, and dark. Our croissant and English muffin sandwiches were pressed. My croissant had cheese and turkey slices with an addictive spicy jam. The English muffin halves of his egg and ham sandwiches were so pressed that they did not resemble English muffins. However, he said it was so good with its texture, greasiness and flavours. I think I'm going to get that next time.

I instantly remembered the ones from Grounds for Coffee! I could practically smell the cinnamon and sugar in my mind--I knew I had to have one! I stopped by for dessert around 7 pm and asked for the cinnamon buns to be warmed up. It was perfectly ooey-gooey, and the amount of icing was spot on. The overall flavor was well-balanced (not too sweet, in my opinion). I paired it with a black drip coffee, and alternating between the sweet treat and the bitter coffee was just what I needed. We sat at a nice side table and played some fun word games while we ate. It's a cozy place to spend time and enjoy a sweet treat. I would highly recommend this local favorite if you're like me and are always down for a warm, gooey cinnamon bun!

I tried ordering through their app to use points but the app was so hard to use as it kept going back and forth the same page. When I sank my teeth into it, i was like huh? So i ate another bite and had to examine my bun afterwards. The bun only had some dark brown cinnamon spots at the top. The rest of it was just doughy looking and tasted just like a regular bun. I don't think i wanted to pay $6 something for a regular bun...

The aesthetic of this cafe is contemporary and very visually clean and cute. I don't know if I can compare their bubble tea to any other bubble tea shop in the city because they use such fresh ingredients mixed with high-quality tea and the end result is absolutely delicious. In just the past week I've had the chance to drink three drinks including today's not too sweet, more subtle chrysanthemum sunrise which has grapefruit chunks. Their Garden Milk Tea was super tasty with rose syrup was gulped up last week but our ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE is the Passion Fruit Vanilla Float. This drink has the perfect mix of that passion fruit punch, with the bubbles of soda from the sparkling water, sweet chunks of aloe vera, and that creamy touch of the vanilla cream. You also get the passion fruit seeds mixed in with pearls (if you order their amazing pearls) and it's seriously the BEST drink. You won't be disappointed. I've had the chance in months pass to try the matcha strawberry with strawberry chunks and it was amazingly delicious too so my top two recommendations are the Matcha Strawberry or the Passion Fruit Vanilla Float! I still need to come by for breakfast but the waffles and macarons I've had here have been delightful.

This place is especially known for their mochi donuts, which have a really interesting texture, very chewy with a bit of crispiness on the outside. I'm generally not a huge donut fan, and this version is still a little greasy, but the texture is definitely unique and worth trying at least once. We were surprisingly the first customers of the day, which was great since the line is usually pretty long (it's a pretty hyped-up spot). Avocado Benedict ($22) 3/5 I ordered this for a lighter take on bennies, but in my opinion they added way too much hollandaise. Combined with the avocado, everything ended up tasting overly rich. The eggs were perfectly poached though, and the tater tots were also nicely crunchy. Mortadella Sandwich ($15) 4/5 My friend, who loves this place for brunch, said this is her favourite menu item and I can see why. I feel like it's underrated since most people go for the bennies or the chicken pancakes, but I'd highly recommend this instead. The texture combination is great: thinly sliced mortadella, an egg layer that almost feels like a crepe, and crispy onions. The tobasco sauce also helps balance everything out and makes the dish feel lighter.
