Dr. Maarouf met with both of us and did an awesome job. We're accustomed to having a hygienist do the cleaning, not the dentist! We were also impressed that Dr. Maarouf had a helper for the entire cleaning. During my visit, Dr. Maarouf noticed one of my fillings was compromised. Yesterday, she repaired the filling. She was going to numb the area, but I talked it through with her and advised doing the filling without any numbing. Worked out great. I appreciated her demeanor and willingness to accommodate me. When he injected the local anesthetic into my cheek, I was surprised by how gentle he was and how painless the anesthetic was. He made sure to not rush the injection so it wouldn't hurt. He also found another cavity while doing my first filling and filled it for me while I was already numb, which I am grateful for. He took the time with me afterwards to answer all of my questions. The front desk staff and dental hygienists at this dental practice are also friendly, nice, and thorough - shout out to Evelyn, my favorite hygienist! I have seen both Dr. Edmond Woo and Dr. Wang on various occasions for cleanings and regular check-ups. My appointments are quick and there's barely a wait-time if at all every time that I have gone. My hygienist today was Evelyn and she does an amazing job as well. Staff here are all very welcoming. The facility is very clean and I've personally witnessed the staff wipe down all equipment prior to and after each patient visit. There's a nice stream of background music they play as well which is nice. There's a private lot in the back for convenient parking and street parking out in front. My teeth weren't in great shape as I hadn't been to a dentist in about 2 years, but Dr. Chopra got me on track, and I did better on my next visit in September 2020. Dr. Chopra & staff are pretty nice overall. They also had Saturday as an option, which I often did especially after I moved from Wheaton to Anne Arundel County in late 2020. I continued coming back to Wheaton for the dentist twice a year typically on a Saturday in 2021 to 2023 after moving because frankly I liked Dental Design well overall, and it's a hassle looking for a new dentist, scheduling, etc. and a risk of not liking the new dentist. Dr. Chopra scolded me a couple of times for canceling Saturday times for ones weeks, month or even more later because she said Saturday times are highly coveted for people. I get she's trying to run a business, but when booking 6 months out it's hard to know for sure if that particular Saturday works. For example, I had a trivia tournament one Saturday in 2023, so coming to the dentist too wasn't possible. My final visit was in October 2023, and I booked for a Saturday in April 2024. But as the week got closer, I realized it wasn't going to work and was concerned about possibly being scolded for switching. My girlfriend recommended her dentist in Cloverly, and I decided to go with them. Although Cloverly is still in Montgomery County, it's easier to get to from where I live, than to go all the way to trafficky Wheaton. Overall, this is a good local neighborhood dentist for people who live in Wheaton or other nearby areas. Dr. Chopra is generally nice. She can be matter of fact with the teeth, and she cares about your good dental health.
