When i walk in to get my teeth clean i am warmed by the smile from the front desk lady.I believe her name is Kristin. i have great experience with the the team cleaning my teeth and the final inspection always very detailed crew. BUT when i leave and talk to Tracy she isnt a pleasant person to deal with and very unfriendly unwelcoming "give me your money and get out".When it should be about how did everything go ?How was your visit?There is many Dentist around town where everyone is nice and not look at you as a payment and get out. That customer relationships are key. Tracy doesnt belong in the field of customer service.This is the main reason why many people like my self wont be going back because of people like Tracy. I went to this Dentist because my original Dentist had retired a few years ago and he was a high school buddy and said he would be better that he was and he treated me as gentle as a lamb.It was and emergency because a complete cap had fallen off on rear farthest back upper molar or my primary grinding molar.They,the office,got me in within 5 days and i told them we were broke because I just started treatment for cancer and one medication I must now take has a $2000 copay.They full understood and treated me with respect and kindness plus the Dentist who fixed me up managed to clean,restore the stump plus the cap and re-installed it perfectly.The charge,because I have no dental coverage because of my age,was extremely reasonable because he carefully did a step by step process and reinstalled that cap back on with no pain to us in the process.Everyone in that office and that Dentist are just plain nice people to deal with no matter what anyone else says plus my high school buddy the Dentist was 100% correct for making this Dentist his replacement "to go to"when he retired.Try they and you will go back like we will from now on. read more

For three years they never looked at me as a person. I was just a cash cow for them to drain money from. I don't know if it is because I live in Wheaton that they just assumed I could afford anything. And foolish me, I'm not a dentist. I had to rely on their expertise when they would tell me I needed some procedure (like a crown replacement that I now know could have waited a year or two). And they love to "upsell." We recently moved to the area and it was really hard leaving my previous dentist. I am thrilled that I found Dr. C! I've had nothing but positive experiences with him. I've had a couple of needed procedures done with him and everything has been quick and pain free. My 6 year old daughter is one of those kids who acts like she's brave but I can see right through her. I know when she's nervous, and I know she's got that "white coat syndrome" that so many kids (and adults) face. When we arrived at Wheaton Prarie Dental, I could almost HEAR her heart beating faster. So I made sure to act calm and collected as we approached the front door. Once her name was called, I was surprised she didn't run out the door right then and there. But Lindsey, the hygienist, greeted her with a smile and made sure she was comfortable in The Chair. And that's when I knew my kid wasn't scared anymore. She was definitely relaxed, and this was WITHOUT the gas mask! After Lindsey did the routine xray and whatnot, we met Dr Colella. He, too, greeted her with a smile and had a good talk with her. He acted as if he was just a friend who she hadn't seen in a while. He explained that he was just going to check and make sure everything was going well and even got excited when discovering there was a FIRST LOOSE TOOTH present! At the end of the exam, he gave us a bag full of goodies which of course any kid would love. The staff here is great and despite it being on a relatively busy street, the location is great. Parking is easy and there's a lot to do to pass time if you've got to wait a while for your significant other or kid during a long visit. Our routine visit, however, was quick - something I appreciate as a busy mom. Overall I'm happy to have found a dentist/dental office that I can trust, and one that my kids will trust as well. My visit to see Dr. Collela was flawless. I was able to fill out my paperwork online before getting to the office. That allowed for a nice transition into the appointment. The waiting room was clean and cozy with water and coffee available. Dr. Collela's chair-side manner is amazing. He made me feel so calm for my appointment, which was a long one. He talked me through everything and gave me cues that decreased my stress throughout the visit. His assistant was wonderful as well. She was very kind, respectful and funny. *Updating Review* I'm updating this review to respond to Stacy because I can't reply otherwise. Thanks for acknowledging but I've already been in communication with your staff and nothing changed. I still ended up having to pay you more because of this whole issue. I did love the office and dentist but this whole thing made me lose all trust and felt like you truly didn't care of the miscommunication your office made. I'm sad because now I have to wait till next year to find another dentist. *** I'll start off with saying the dentist and staff were great and that my negative experience comes from the insurance/billing side. On my first visit for a basic checkup and cleaning, they called my insurance to understand my benefits and I really appreciated that. So from there they explained my benefits to me and how much I'd owe over with the additional procedures I'd need to come in for. Long story short, they failed to tell me I had a 1500 maximum from my insurance and that once I hit that, I'd have to pay out of pocket. I didn't think to check my insurance benefits because I thought they had and I guess that's my mistake and I'll know for the next time dentist I go to. This frustrates me because I ended having to pay hundreds extra out of pocket that I wasn't informed of until all the procedures had been done and again no where in the few times I came in did they tell me about my 1500 max until the end. I felt cheated and that it was sneaky. This gets me angry so I'll end this review. But should you choose this office, do your own research or make sure they fully tell you everything. But he is a nice dentist and I'm bummed this experience has left my with a bitter taste and no interest in returning. read more
