Shout Out to Kelsey! Kelsey recently helped me get back on the road with our tandem after I broke the rear rim! She custom ordered a new rim for us and rebuilt the hub. Unfortunately, after I picked up the new rim I noticed the freewheel was mounted incorrectly. I called Kelsey, she came out the next morning and quickly remounted the freewheel. I walked in with my family of four and were greeted by 2 people who seemed very friendly. We walked towards the back to try some kid bikes as we were there to buy a bike for my son. After about ten minutes, I asked an employee for some help with questions regarding a really nice Trek bike and was told to give him a few minutes. Ten minutes later, and still no help. I gathered my family, and we promptly left the store. Maybe those 2 people who greeted us and were available could have helped? Walked in there today and didn't even get a greeting. We waited around 10 minutes to buy a bike for my son's birthday and nothing. I understand if they are serving other customers but it's very easy to say "hello, we will be with you shortly." They lost a big purchase today. Needed a brake cable rebuild- these guys came through! What a great job! It was a poor set up from the factory- but they reworked everything and it's better than new. The cables are the perfect length and therefore the brakes are efficient and effective- way more than before. And they did it right away! Don't listen to the poor reviews. This store was very welcoming. I felt like I could've had a family reunion held here. Spent a couple hours looking for a new bike. I ended up interacting with everyone in the store, the manager, the bike technicians, the sales rep and no question was to big or small. Shortly after the location opened I decided to support my new local bike shop. I went in and asked for a part for my bike. The didn't have it in stock and to order it from the manufacturer had a 2022 eta! The associate told me that she could have it sent from a location in WI and I should have it in less than a week. Now, I checked with couple of different bike shops in the area which were within about a 30 min ride and they both had the item. I decided to support local and wait the week for the item. She said they'd call when it arrived. The weeks went by & I heard nothing. After 20 days I went into the store to inquire. Another associate told me that it never arrived and that the previous clerk had ordered the part from the manufacturer and it wouldn't arrive until 2022. However, they could have it shipped from another location. Having gone down that path already, I decided to get a refund. And buy it from the other store. I could have had the thing almost 3 weeks ago but I wanted to support the local store. I realize that mistakes happen, no one is perfect. it's not the end of the world and I'm not crazed with anger but it was a frustrating experience. read more

I took my bike for what I thought was a simple derailer adjustment. Normally I head all the way up to Trek in Highland Park. But, I like supporting a local business and decided to give it a try. Dropped it off on Friday and said it would be ready the next day. When I didn't hear from them the next day, I popped in about an hour before closing. The bike was still on the stand being evaluated. They said the needed more time. So, I headed out begrudgingly. It was then I read the other reviews and got a little worried. About an hour later, I got a text saying the bike was done. I ran over even though it was technically closed. They let me in. As it turns out, it was a frayed cable. They were able to replace it and get me on my way. The price was fair and the work was professional. I would say to the other reviewers give them a second chance. These are tough times we are in and good employees are hard to find. They did their best and I feel they are conscientious. I will continue to bring my bike here for repairs. Great work guys! read more

Extremely rude service. Came in for a simple question on what size part to order for my bike and was only given rude replies. Women told me that I can't touch her bike, wasn't not even able to se look at the existing part on a bike that I thought would work. When asked her reply was absolutely not. The brakes on my walker were not working and my physical therapist suggest I go to a bike shop since the brakes are actually bike brakes. I hoped Wheel and Sprocket and asked if they would repair it for me. The gal I spoke couldn't have been nicer. She wanted to check into it and called me back quickly and told me to stop in. I went there today and they knew exactly why I was there as soon as I walked in. Within 20 minutes I walked out with repaired brakes. If I was able to actually ride a bike, that's the where I would go to purchase one. The staff was so friendly. read more
