As we are in spring there is no way my son can go without a bike that long since he is riding almost daily. I called Jerry and he said to bring it in that day. Wheels of Northbrook is the perfect example of why supporting small businesses are important. I had broke my rear axle and was going to replace the part as a weekend project. Needed last minute help on a Saturday late afternoon when most suburban bike shops close at 5pm. On the spot, Jerry was able to remove a cruddy stock freewheel, advise me on its garbage quality, and sell me a better freewheel at an affordable price on the spot. My bike needed repairs on the crank. Jerry fixed it at a very reasonable price and also calibrated the brakes. It rides like a brand new bike now. He did the repair quickly and did a great job with explaining what the issue was with the crank. You can stop in for information, for service whether repair or maintenance, and for excellent quality supplies and parts, or for fitting for a new bike that conforms to your needs and desires. The owner is very hands on and always exceeds expectations. Equipment is chosen with an eye towards the best function for the best price. I had lent my bike to a friend but it had more or less been sitting around for about 6 years, so it was not in the greatest condition. Jerry came to my house and picked up my bike and told me it would be about a week before I got it back. Having called around to other places, I realized this was about average turnaround time since it is summer and everyone is wanting to tune up their bikes and go riding.
