First timer peddling a swan floaty, and in the City Park's big lake near NOMA. Fun excursion before we headed to the museum. Takes two adults to power the swan floaty. This rental place has water and group bikes for the gang to get around this wonderful city park. Water floaty is $35/hr rental and surrey bike rentals are also available. Full day's worth of activities at the park.

City Park is a 1300-acre public park andd we were EXCITED to explore quite a bit of it on our recent November visit. As we began to explore we noticed people in canoes and large Swan Boats on Big Lake along with fellow park visitors peddling around on bicycles. We wondered if there was a rental place close by anddd to our surprise bikes & boats could be rented from the City Park Boat House on Big Lake. Wheel Fun Rentals provided both for rental. We were interested in a large Swan Boat but the wind had picked up so we opted for a Deuce Coupe Bike - $27 an hr: Side-by-side that allows for adjustable seating && to pedal at the same time. Easy-breezy to rent, we just needed photo ID (check), must be 18 yrs (check) and a credit card for deposit (check). All Rentals: One-hour minimum; After first hour all rentals are prorated in 15 minute increments. The ONLY thing that takes this down one (1) star we did enjoy our peddle around the park veryyy MUCH but when we arrived at different attractions or places inside City Park we had NO way to secure/lock up the Deuce Coupe and a lock is NOT provided for you. Otherwise enjoy your Wheel Fun Rental around the park or on Big Lake for a Fun way to see the beautiful park via bike, canoe or Swan.

Kind of hard to see but there's a line of Swan Paddle Boats where you can rent things for the park and pond. Bikes, kayaks etc

Heard about this place when researching the park. I would recommend it as the park is really large. However, if you want to leave the bike or whatever you choose to see some sites and/ or use the restroom there's no place to lock it up and one isn't provided for you. So, that's a predicament. You can also rent a kayak or swan boat as there's a lake by it. We rented a cruiser a fancy way to say a bike. The process to get a bike was easy. The deposit was just your driver's license or ID. Leave your credit card information too. They just give you some simple rules to follow and you're off. Price points are different depending on what type of ride that you choose and for how long. At the end they give you a coupon for 20% off your next ride.

I come here a lot with my nieces and nephews. This place helps me keep the cool auntie title. We like to come in the morning and rent the choppers. We've rented the surrey before too. And recently we did the swan boat. We enjoy the choppers the most. We race each other and explore the park. It's a lot of fun .

Staff was patient and helpful. Prices were good. We had a blast but I do have to say if it's really windy I don't recommend getting on a swan. haha It was fun but boy was it work. I've lived here my whole life and I've always wanted to ride a swan so we finally broke down and did it. We really enjoyed the kayaking though I love that you go through the art garden before venturing through the rest of the park. It was such a beautiful day to be on the water. We'll be back really soon!!

The top level has a bar counter and tables under a canopy. Up front there are benches so you are looking straight ahead as you travel. The middle level has a nice indoor dining room. You can order traditional Louisiana dishes. Outside the dining room are benches. We chose to sit on the top level facing forward, but it was so cold in front, we moved to the tables in the rear. There is a wonderful narrator letting you know when you pass interesting sites. The Domino Sugar factory that you pass is really something to see, and it's hard to believe it's still in use. They make a stop at the Chalmette Battlefield (you can get off the boat or stay and relax on the boat). There is a tour guide who talks about the battleground, which is pretty interesting. The best thing about the Creole Queen is the narrator. After the battlefield, the second half of the tour focuses on Hurricane Katrina. He wants that it can be disturbing and announced that if you didn't want to hear it, you can go to the dining room, as it isn't broadcasted in there. He is very candid, and I learned so much about the terrible way Hurricane Katrina was handled, as well as just how terrible the hurricane was. It was very, very sad. I highly recommend this tour. As I said, we enjoyed it so much the first time that we wanted to go back and share it with our son.

I selected the 6PM seating time so that I would be done with the meal by the time the Steamboat Natchez starts moving around 7PM. The dining area interior space was lovely and expansive with chandeliers, as well as a stage area. Each table had a bowl of Caesar Salad placed there already. Lettuce was nice and crunchy, with plenty of tangy dressing and croutons. Upon being seated, the server took drink orders and I selected Iced Tea (one of the complimentary beverages being offered). The Iced Tea was sweet and refreshing. Next, we were served Gumbo with rice, which was warm, flavorful, and comforting. As for the buffet, there was Shrimp Pasta, a few different saucy dishes made with veggies and meat, potatoes with bacon and peas, Prime Rib, Fried Chicken, and Green Beans. I really enjoyed the Shrimp Pasta, which was made with creamy, well seasoned sauce, and tender shrimp. The saucy dishes were cooked well and bold in flavor. Prime Rib was a little tough. Fried Chicken was delightfully crispy, but a bit on the dry side and could have used more flavor. Green Beans had a perfect consistency with yummy seasoning. For dessert, I tried both the Bread Pudding and Cheesecake with tasty coffee. Both were delicious in their own way. Bread Pudding was dense, with a milky, velvety smooth topping, while the Cheesecake was more light and airy, yet still rich. Service was solid. The waitress was friendly and attentive. Everything (drinks, appetizer, dessert, coffee) came out in a timely manner and the main dishes were part of the buffet. When done eating, I went out to take in golden hour sunset, then headed up to the top deck, where I found a seat. Live jazz music was performed throughout the evening. It was a perfect night for feeling the wind in my hair, watching the skyline go by along the Mississippi River, and the twinkling lights of the city as the sky turned dark. My partner and I have some experience paddling and wanted plenty of time to see wildlife and get deep in the swamp for the best scenery, and for us the extended tour was the right choice! I'd recommend it to visitors to New Orleans who love nature, the outdoors, and/or getting a fun and unique workout in during vacation. We were on the water for about 4 hours. Sunscreen, sunglasses, shoes you don't mind getting wet, and PLENTY of water are a must! There are stops at a truck stop right before and after for the bathroom and buying any drinks/snacks, plus a stop on dry land during the tour. Our guide Nick was clearly dedicated to both paddling and nature even outside of work, and our tour felt less like a scripted performance as some tours can be and more like a buddy was showing and telling you things he was passionate about. We saw several small alligators, barred owls, hawks, turtles, and water birds. It was unseasonably warm so the reptiles were a treat to see, and it was awesome getting to see owls out in daylight which I'd never be able to pick out myself. Bring binoculars if you have them! My only small complaint, which has nothing to do with the tour itself: the AI-generated content on the company's Instagram page is kind of weird.
