New Orleans City Park is beautiful and riding a bike through the park is the perfect activity for a day in the city. We caught a lyft to drop us off at the bike rental and were able to quickly grab bikes for an hour around the park. We went with the cruisers which were about $12 an hour. There are a lot of great riding paths around the park, which makes it very safe and accessible to ride around. Their price for the cruisers is comparable to the cost of the blue bikes you'll see around town. Easy process and lots of fun! read more

City Park is a 1300-acre public park andd we were EXCITED to explore quite a bit of it on our recent November visit. As we began to explore we noticed people in canoes and large Swan Boats on Big Lake along with fellow park visitors peddling around on bicycles. We wondered if there was a rental place close by anddd to our surprise bikes & boats could be rented from the City Park Boat House on Big Lake. Wheel Fun Rentals provided both for rental. We were interested in a large Swan Boat but the wind had picked up so we opted for a Deuce Coupe Bike - $27 an hr: Side-by-side that allows for adjustable seating && to pedal at the same time. Easy-breezy to rent, we just needed photo ID (check), must be 18 yrs (check) and a credit card for deposit (check). All Rentals: One-hour minimum; After first hour all rentals are prorated in 15 minute increments. The ONLY thing that takes this down one (1) star we did enjoy our peddle around the park veryyy MUCH but when we arrived at different attractions or places inside City Park we had NO way to secure/lock up the Deuce Coupe and a lock is NOT provided for you. Not worth the time nor money. We got a two person bike but we originally wanted the swan boat. They said it was closed because of a possible storm but it couldnt have been sunnier. Also we saw other people out on a swan boat and even more when we returned the bike. But i cant knock them on trying to keep my safety first. But what I can hold against them is that the bikes are dirty, rusty, and old. And the park is neither interesting enough nor well equipped to even merit an hour worth of bike riding. The map they provide you with is outdated and not even accurate. The built in cover for the bike drips rust water that colored my white shirt like moms spaghetti. By the end of the hour I was rained on more by this brown water than the so called storm they said that prevented me from renting a swan boat It took us 30 minutes to bike the whole trail and the only real view was parking lot and grass. I honestly doubt the swan boat wouldve been much better Edit: raised a star because the owner reached out, couldve just been a bad experience. Heard about this place when researching the park. I would recommend it as the park is really large. However, if you want to leave the bike or whatever you choose to see some sites and/ or use the restroom there's no place to lock it up and one isn't provided for you. So, that's a predicament. You can also rent a kayak or swan boat as there's a lake by it. We rented a cruiser a fancy way to say a bike. The process to get a bike was easy. The deposit was just your driver's license or ID. Leave your credit card information too. They just give you some simple rules to follow and you're off. Price points are different depending on what type of ride that you choose and for how long. At the end they give you a coupon for 20% off your next ride. read more

I've lived here my whole life and I've always wanted to ride a swan so we finally broke down and did it. We rented the Swan for the lakes. Yes we did lol!!!! Well.... It was actually fun. First, if you are anything like me and think one hour might not be long enough, well... IT IS!!!! 5 minutes in with the paddling and I'm feeling it in my legs so yes one hour was plenty lol It was definitely hot that day so we kept going by the water fountain area to feel the water mist. We were wet too cause we got really closed lol. We were fine with getting wet because this was our last stop before home. This is definitely a really simple thing to do with someone and it's fun. Our kids love it but note to self...make sure your kids are yall enough to help paddle because our kids couldn't reach the paddles so I was the only one really doing all the work lol read more

Wheel Fun Rentals has a lot of fun activities you can do with the family. They have swan boats, surreys, bikes, low riding bikes, kayaks, and canoes. We rented a swan boat for an hour. You get to peddle around a lake for up to 4 people per swan, and 2 people can peddle at a time. It can get a little exhausting, and 1 hour might be a bit long. Realistically 30 mins is plenty of time, especially since you can only go around the same lake so many times. I believe in the past they allowed you to peddle into the park next to it. But they have since closed that off. For $35 for the hour, the price is pretty reasonable. And they will allow you a 10-min grace period if you're unable to peddle back in time before the hour expires. Checking in and out was pretty simple and hassle-free. Would recommend checking them out if you're looking for something different to do. We'd like to check out the surreys or deuce coupes next time we're in town and ride around the park. read more

This was ok. I didn't expect a whole lot from it. We were on our honeymoon and just were looking for things to do. Came upon this. It's a little pricy to do. 11 per person for an hour. And you can't really go many places. We unfortunately got a boat that was having problems. It wouldn't turn to the left. We still had an ok time. The bikes were great and City Park was very nice. My only concern was that the guy renting us our bikes told us about how New Orleans was a dangerous place and had a high murder rate. The park seemed safe and we had no issues finding our way back. read more

Even in the rain, we had lots of fun pedalling along through the park. Our three seater 'Surrey' with a canopy was easily quicker than walking but it was quite heavy with just a single gear that also permitted freewheeling. My boyfriend and I rented bikes for a 1/2 day in New Orleans last week and had an absolute blast. John was super helpful and friendly and explained everything we could possibly need to know, and then some! We used the bikes to get to a restaurant we wanted to try a bit away from the French Quarter and as a result saw parts of the city we never would have otherwise - highly recommended you do this! If you are going to just stay in city park, though, you also can't go wrong. It's gorgeous and huge and has so much to see and so much gorgeous photo ops. Donisha & Bryan were both very friendly when they set us up with a swan paddle boat and chopper bike rental. We had fun with both, no problems at all, but will say you can get further with a kayak/canoe instead since the swan boats are too tall to pass under the bridges. Kitschy in a "must experience" kind of way. Staff was fun, things seemed clean-ish and operational, but there is VERY little paddle room (shallow banks and low inaccessible bridge, high fine if you get stuck). Hot as hell, however that is Louisiana, and you spend your time suffocating in a stinky, strangulating life vest paddling like hell to fight the wind and stay in the middle of a very small area with lots of other paddling swans. Hour rental minimum...over it in 15". Thank God the thunderstorm came and cut it short after 30", but no rainstorm refund for half off. read more
