This review is long overdue. We took our trip with Ko-netic in mid -November…read more I should start with saying.....our groups idea of camping was car camping, glamping or a cabin. Naomi and her team actually cater to all levels of experience. We hired Naomi and Nelson for a celebratory adventure. We didn't really know what we wanted or how much adventure we wanted (or were capable of). Ko-netic worked with us on all the large important details (fitness level of the group, location restraints, time constraints, our access to equipment, outdoor experience level). Naomi was patient and talked us through some different ideas before we finally settled on a short camping and canyoneering trip. From there, they made sure everyone was safe, prepared and ready for our adventure. They scouted the area ahead of our trip to make sure everything was good. They emailed us important information (how to pack your bag, what to bring, itinerary, weather, what to expect, last minute checklists) as we approached our trip. They checked in with every single person to make sure they understood what we had and what they needed to provide. The night that we departed, they helped us pack our bags, checked out what we were bringing, eliminated somethings, made recommendations on others and off we went. They drove us to the base of the trail where we would hike to get to our camp site. Before we started our night hike, they gave us some pointers, checked our bag loads to make sure we were comfy, helped us adjust and off we went into the night. We took the hike fairly slow and they were patient and made sure each of us was okay and having fun. Once we got to the camp site, they helped us set up our tents; made sure we changed into dry clothes to stay warm, made us a fire, made s'mores and showed us how to stay warm in our tents and bags. They even scared a few bears off that wandered into our site. When we woke up in the morning, they were making breakfast for us. It was so nice to have something warm. They helped us get packed up and off we went to rappel down a waterfall. We hiked to the fall and had lunch that they provided. They also provided the wetsuits (a must have in November) and took us down some canyons and waterfalls after we ate. We all had such an amazing time. The hikes were not difficult hikes but our group was challenged. There were a handful of us that had never carried a pack while hiking. Naomi and Nelson made that challenge fun. They kept the conversations going on the hikes, they constantly kept an eye on us, pointed things out as we passed them (caves, poison ivy, foliage, random cabins). They stayed positive and upbeat the whole time. We would absolutely recommend Naomi and Nelson for any adventure excursions. We wouldn't hesitate to take another adventure trip with them again....maybe some rafting, high ropes, or a snow adventure.

I haven't been to this lovely, peaceful, tranquil Woodley Park in years. Today after I left the…read morebakery, I had to meet up with a potential client of mine to discuss her wedding arrangements. This is a very big park that actually has free, big parking lot and also street parking is available with couple of restrooms. We found a shaded area that also had a picnic tables. They have children's playgrounds, lots of beautiful, healthy looking trees and a full grass. Nice and green. They also have wildlife and the geese and ducks were swimming in the pond. Woodley park is adjacent to Lake Balboa park, but yet divided. Has pathways, trails, people walking their dogs, kids, has a place to exercise, and also there were venders selling some snacks. The weather was perfect around noon. Wasn't too hot nor it was cold. The Japanese Garden is really something to look into. It is breathtaking and beautiful. They have a golf course, and there was a birthday party going on along with a festival on the other side. I still wonder why people don't write reviews on parks? The park itself was clean and very well maintained. Didn't see no trash anywhere except where they belong. Inside the trash cans that were around the park.

Great park day with bae…read more I haven't been to Reseda Park in quite some time, but definitely was a frequenter when I lived in Tarzana as well as in Reseda directly across the street on Reseda Blvd, where a good portion of this park resides, encompassing Victory Blvd, Kittridge St and parts of Etiwanda Ave. Easy street parking as well as in their lot off Victory. Great sunny spots, shady tree areas and an awesome lake with a walk path. The wildlife here is abundance, especially the squirrels, geese, ducks, fellow waterfowls and various bird types. Super pup friendly. Two playgrounds, one off Kittridge, with park benches and tables throughout. The playground next to the parking lot on Victory is really modern and also neighbor to their rec center as well as restrooms. Definitely appreciating Reseda Park a lot more after a nice sunny picnic day out. People are friendly, kids are kids curious, carefree, adorable and reckless at times. Don't eat that "Jessica" lol Very spacious and surprisingly more on the mellow side on a holiday weekend. Some vendors do pop up from time to time usually with snacks and eats. Near a few restaurants, shops and grocers as well.

I have driven past Reseda park many times in the mornings in the last 6 months and the park had…read moreseemed clean at that time of day, however today I was heading home from Tarzana with my dog and I wanted to stop by with her. I parked on the street but noticed that there were several tents set up, lots of strewn trash, shopping carts, and some disheveled people walking around. The park has so much space that would have been perfect for me to throw the ball for my dog and do some training, but I just did not feel comfortable to get out of my car with this type of situation. I really really feel that this location has so much potential because it's spacious, there's so many geese walking around, beautiful trees. It is so sad to see it so dirty. I periodically come past this park so next time in the area I'll check it out and see if it's the same, because as mentioned above, in the past in the mornings when I drove by it looked much cleaner and more welcoming than it looks today.

I used 2 before I had to move to the city. When I called recently, they still had my info and told me my passes were NOT expired!?!?! I'm so grateful I held onto the barcode they gave me back then. Anyways, this location is very accessible. Lots of parking available. They have a small joint locker room available if you want to put some stuff away, but most people here just leave their stuff in the lobby or carry it with them. This is not like a Touchstone gym where guys and girls have their own locker and shower, but they have the basic necessities for a climbing gym. This specific location is more for belaying than it is for bouldering. I was hoping to coach some friends through a few easy routes, but there were maybe 3 v0's and 2 v1's. I had to throw my friends right into the deep end with some v2's and v3's. The routes felt a bit short too. They seem to make up for that here by making the starting points very low. There are definitely way more routes for belaying and the routes there go very high. I'd probably get certified just to belay here. It's just a shame that they spent so much effort for belaying, but couldn't make the routes a bit higher for bouldering.

We tried several different quarters, but the food wouldn't come out. None of the quarters went all around (imagine a gumball machine). My 1-yr old nephew was quite disapponted that we didn't stick around the area. But quite honestly, he was disappointed that he couldn't jump in with them. There were ducks in the area too. Online it says that you can take a fruit from the citrus tree, but they weren't quite ripe, so we didn't bother. My nephew enjoyed running over the bridge and checking out the HUGE Koi fish. Needless to say, he was also disappointed that he couldn't jump in with them either. Please don't bring your own food to feed the animals. Here's What I Think...The next time we come back to the area, we'll have my sister, a current student, check to see if the food canister is working.

I love to visit the ducks, turtles, and fishies. For those that do come here and are looking to feed them there are signs posted that tell you what you can feed them.....please read them beforehand. I went here for the 2nd annual Encino Fest. I had never been before and this was a good excuse to…read morecheck it out. Parking was an issue. There are metered spots all around the perimeter, but they were all taken. I ended up driving a block away and parking in front of an elementary school at a curb that's for pick up and drop off only during the school week. The park is about medium size. There's a tennis court, basketball court, a playground, tables and benches, and open grassy areas scattered with trees for shade. For the festival there were a few food trucks on the street, but you really didn't need to buy anything as long as you were willing to wait in a long line for a free pretzel, ice cream, and bottle of water. Just make sure to check in at one of the tables first where they'll ask you for your name and email and then give you tickets for the pretzel and ice cream and then you can get in line. One person is allowed to ask for multiple tickets for their family. The festival is kid centric, like the entertainment on stage were kids dancing and the live music was also aimed at kids. One song had lyrics that sounded like "Simon Says". There were also several tents that had a bunch of freebies like stickers and potato bag clips and even a booklet of the U.S. Constitution, which makes sense since a lot of the booths were promoting various local politicians. There's an onsite bathroom by the basketball courts, but beware that it's not the cleanest, but it's a public bathroom, so of course it isn't. If you have kids, this festival was made for you. If you don't, you can still enjoy the freebies, but it's not really something you'd want to stay around long for.

I've been coming to Encino Park for years, and it's one of those neighborhood spots that just feels…read moreeasy and welcoming. The park is really spacious and well-maintained. There's plenty of grass for kids to run around, toss a ball, or just roll out a blanket for a picnic. The playground is solid, clean, safe, and usually full of families in the afternoons. I like that there's enough shade from the trees so you're not baking in the sun the whole time (which is a big deal in the Valley). What I appreciate most is how relaxed the vibe is. It's not overly crowded or chaotic like some bigger parks in LA. You'll see people walking their dogs (on leash), neighbors chatting, and kids practicing soccer. There are also tennis courts and a community center, which makes it feel like a true local hub. Parking is usually pretty manageable, especially compared to other parks in Los Angeles. Bathrooms are basic but generally kept in decent shape. Overall, Encino Park is simple, clean, and family-friendly. It's not flashy, but it's dependable and sometimes that's exactly what you want in a neighborhood park.
