Usually I regret going anywhere else and kick myself for not just coming here. I moved to Skowhegan so I tried a couple garages near me, but again, came back to Hardings. They were ok, but didn't compare and often I'd have to take my vehicle back to fix things they missed or didn't do right. I can tell you in all the years I've been using Hardings I don't think that has ever happened! They are thorough, honest, and very competent. I have had a lot of really bad experiences over the years with repair shops so I don't trust hardly anyone!! I trust Joe at Hardings. That is saying a lot coming from me. Joe is upfront, real and honest. He tells it like it is and I know if he tells me something needs to be done it does and I don't have to wonder if he's BS-ing me. He will break it down for you also, tell you what has to be done now, what can possibly wait a bit, etc. He will work with you. I recently tried another place recommended by someone else, as they were much cheaper, big mistake! They went over their estimate by $200 & didn't even call to tell me & wanted to do other work that was not necessary. I went back to Hardings and now have my truck up and running great and inspected. Lesson learned. I'll be a customer for life. My aunt has been a customer for over 25 years and has been treated so good she NEVER goes anywhere else and always sings their praises. You truly get what you pay for, as they say. Harding's may not be the cheapest around (although still reasonable!) but they are the best, IMO. I know my car is going to be fixed right when I go there and I won't be told they can't figure out the issue, as I've had happen at other places. They do everything, including rust repair too. The hood and windshield were the parts that needed to be replaced. I was told by the body shop that I would get a used hood but it would be painted. I was told the fenders would be painted to match the hood color. When I went to pick up the car neither fender was painted even though my bill showed that the work was done. I asked why they werent painted as I was told they would be and why the charges for painting them was on my bill. The cost was taken off the bill and I was told that it wasnt necessary to paint the fenders because the color matched the hoods color which was supposedly just painted. If the hood was just painted it didnt make sense that it would match 17 year old paint on the fenders. The hood was used and where there were dings you could see that touch up paint was used and the color did not match the hood color. The car is silver and there was a red spot on the hood. If the hood was freshly painted there shouldnt be a red dot or touch up paint used. It just proved to me that I was being billed for work not done. The car was taken back in to the shop for a long time to have the ding spots and the red spot buffed. I was not impressed by this because it did not change the fact that the hood didnt look freshly painted as I was billed for. I complained to my ins. co. who said they saw the before and after pictures sent to them from the body shop and were happy with the work. I guess the owner of the vehicle being unhappy with the work doesnt matter to either the body shop or the ins co. I informed my ins. co that I am never using that shop again and I will be looking for a new ins co.

I called Randy's, told em what happened and they insisted they go get the jeep and my kid, brought him home to me and that was that. It is now Monday, the issue was the axle they put it didn't have grease in it like it was supposed to,not their fault, so they replaced it. I did need tires, didn't realize how bad they were. They gave me an estimate, I called 5 other places and they were all more expensive then Randy's quote. So now my jeep has new sneakers and other new parts. They were great with helping me, always explained stuff if I didn't understand it, and getting my jeep and especially my kid back to me safely. Soo a BIG thumbs up from me!! Where to start... I am usually the person who does all the auto repairs in the family, but around…read moreMay 2020 I had hurt my shoulder when my dads 2008 Jeep needed the front u-joints replaced. Since I couldn't do it he asked around and was told Randy's was a good place to get work done. He dropped he jeep off for the repair, a few days later they called and gave him a long list of parts that needed to be replaced, rear brakes, rear rotors, front rotors, front wheel bearings, oil pan, front differential seals, upper and lower ball joints. The price was around $2,000, my dad asked me and while I was surprised the Jeep needed that much work I assumed it needed the work and told him to go ahead. It took a few weeks and he got his Jeep back. On the way home he stopped to get an ice cream and wanted to look at his new oil pan (he's odd like that ). As he got looking he noticed the oil pan was not new, in fact it was the old one still. The next day he went into the shop and they said there was a mix up and the garage didn't end up doing the oil pan, they gave him back what he paid for the oil pan and labor to install it. He was happy with that solution. Since this is a second vehicle for him he doesn't drive it a lot, so about 2 month and ~300 miles later he noticed oil in his drive way coming from the front end. I took a quick look and it appeared the front differential seals were leaking on both sides. He called Randy's and they agreed to fix it. After a few days they called and said it was all set, he picked it up and drove it around 1,000 miles (2-3 months)before the seals started leaking again. He called Randy's again and again they took it in to look at it, the kept it for about 2 weeks and finally called to say it was fixed again. He picked it up for a third time. About 3 weeks after he got the Jeep back he started hearing a grinding noise from the rear brakes, my brother in law pulled the tire off and the brake caliper mount was MISSING one of the bolts, after going to the dealer and getting a new bolt he checked the other side and one of those bolts were also loose. Around December I was looking at his Jeep and saw the front and rear wheel seals were leaking. I had him bring the Jeep to my garage since I was all better. When I pulled the rear rotors off I was shocked to see Randy's had COMPLETELY removed the e-brake hardware from both rear tires!!! The rotors were almost new (around 4k miles on them), but under them was just the e-brake cable end!! This was a huge shock give how critical an e-brake is in an emergency. Once I got over that and fixed the wheel seals I moved to the front end..... I grabbed the right tire and it was clear the ball joints were junk, then on the left side the wheel bearing was grinding!! I got looking and they hard WELDED the lower ball joint in place!! Luckily they tried welding a steel ball joint to cast iron and it didn't hold, however what they did do was melt the boot, which would cause the ball joint to fail. Once I remove the front pumpkin and the axles I saw the issue with the seals, they had damaged them moving the axles in and out, causing them to leak. They tried to fix it by putting silicone sealant around the seal. On the left side the bearing was an old one, it had not been replaced like they said it was, and they had cross threaded the lower caliper mount bolt. I know this is long winded, but had I not seen this for myself I wouldn't have believed it. This goes beyond poor craftsmanship and into fraudulently charging customers for work that isn't performed along with removing critical safety equipment. I would strongly recommend staying away from this place.
