This location was busy but they seemed organized and methodical in how they were servicing each vehicle. My oil change was finished within the hour and the check out process was a breeze. Jason went above and beyond, and reviewed every finding on their standard diagnosis -- answered all my questions, and even offered recommendations (without pressure) for my next service visit. Everybody should learn their English properly. Yesterday, I went to a Wheelworks shop to fix my headlight, and I had called them beforehand to ask the price for fixing it, they had said around $20-30. When we got there, the worker said it would cost $70. Then they said, if it was necessary to take off the bumper, the car had to stay overnight, and it would cost $300. After, I had called over my husband to discuss with the worker, and it turned out that the headlight bulb was just loose. I felt like they were discriminating against me and attempted to scam me because my English wasn't the best. I won't be returning to this Wheelwork again. I'm extremely disappointed by Wheel Works. I brought in my car when my low tire pressure light went on. They repaired my tire same day. Within a couple of days, the light was back on again. It was supposedly a different issue, so I left my car with them again and paid a second time. Within *two weeks*, the tire went completely flat on the freeway and I had to get roadside assistance to come. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I asked the manager for a refund since it's clear that either my tire issues were missed or incorrectly repaired. She called in her mechanic and told us to sort it out between us.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] She refused to refund either of the two tire repairs, even though I now need to get all four of my tires replaced since I have AWD. I called for an appointment at 10am for tire change and alignment, when I walked in however I was not helped. Front desk gave no welcome or acknowledgment to me as a customer. Decided to call a friend to come in with me and finally they helped. When we spoke to front desk it seemed they forgot to also put my appointment in. I had called few days before to get this appointment. Because I didn't get on the appointment schedule they fit me in and it took 5 hours for them to finish my car. I had to call and check on it . Very intelligent and very pleasant to work with. I was in and out in about 30 minutes. They had a new tire for me and I was treated exactly as I would have liked to have been treated. Professionally, courteously and quickly but not exceedingly fast just perfectly. Thank you for being a 5 star place in my view and glad to have you near me. Update: I called again to get a quote for my wife's vehicle. Tony tried to sell me a credit account again and was kind of all about it, that is why I'm dialing down to 4 from 5 stars. Sorry Tony. I don't appreciate being offered a little credit account just so that I can "save" a few dollars. It's really not appreciated and jeopardizes our relationship. Another update. I hope it is Tony who is reading this review. When I arrived Tony was with another customer but he never greeted me or acknowledged me and this is why I am taking one more star away from Tony. The shop used to be my go-to place for tires (25 years, for all my 4 cars). No longer. The last two visits would indicate that the shop deteriorated both in workmanship and service to the point it should be avoided. First bad experience in December 2023. Job was 4 tires replacement. Got notified in the afternoon that job is behind schedule and agreed to leave car overnight. Next day noticed a loose wheel lug nut due to a striped lug. Was told ordering a replacement lug would require another day. Went to a local parts shop and bought lug and brought over. Still required another day. Next day was informed they failed to replace the lug. (Took car to independent mechanic who replaced while I waited.) Second bad experience in February 2024. Had to leave the car overnight for tires' replacements (In both cases I had a confirmed appointment and arrived on time before noon). Picked up the car next day and low tire pressure warning sign was on. Drove back to shop. Was told to drive until the light will turn off. Told them I already drove over 10 miles. Technician told me he noticed a bad TPMS a day before, but shop DID NOT TELL ME. Asked to replace the TPMS, but shop did not have them in stock (it's a tires shop???). Was told they will order one and call me within 2 days. Well, they did not. (After 4 days went to another shop and got a new TPMS). [[HIGHLIGHT]]During those visit, since they were multi-days visits, I noticed that front desk service people were never the same. I brought my 2000 sierra in for him engine warning. I already knew that it was the six cylinder that was needed to be repaired with a new ignition coil. They charged me $160 for diagnostics. They did not touch one of my ignition coil's or spark plugs or spark plug wires, yet on their diagnostic report they said they all needed be replaced. They said the charge was going to be $1900. The three ignition coils are in the very front of the engine on top on three spark plugs. There is "ONE" bolt whichich needs to be unscrewed the gain access to to spark play g. ONE BOLT, three times, they bill me for $1,900.00? They used to be a reputable company. read more

My car was experiencing strange noises with slow turns of steering wheel (knocking sound when pulling out of parking spots, etc.) So I took my car in to the local Wheel Works in Sunnyvale, El Camino Real location. It was inspected and I was told the problem was with bad tie rods and sway bar in the suspension. I followed through with this shop to replace these. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Well, this was just the beginning of a complete customer service disaster.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It turns out, right after this repair, I started to experience rubbing sounds when making the same slow turns. So, subsequent inspection from this same shop recommended replacement of front lower control arm along with ball joint/bushings. The mechanic told me they were worn and leaking grease inside, causing these noises. The replacement cost me another $1000. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I'm now soooo very upset with this shop.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I've spoken to Lani Hayes, Store Mgr. explaining the problem. She shows little knowledge nor interest in wanting to help me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]She constantly defers my request for help to one of her staff, who don't stay employed there long enough, because each time I've returned there, I'm told whichever employee quit.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I suspect that between the recent visits and jobs this particular shop have done, have actually damaged my suspension assembly, and the company does not want to take the respondibilty for this. I've spent almost $2K on mechanical work on my car here, and still have this abnormal noise problem. I've been going to Wheelworks for years. But now realizing they are extremely unreliable, and negligent for providing shoddy, inferior work quality. I asked them to clean battery terminals as I found foamy residue from bad battery, they supplied a year ago, and under warranty. They left the battery area under the hood, dirty and dry splash marks all over from the acid now ready to corrode other parts of my car. I'm almost tempted to report this company to the CA Atty. My wife ran over a big object on 101 and suffered a blow out of her right front tire on our Nissan Leaf. Since Nissan Leafs are not sold with spare tires in the US and the rim was badly dented and side of tire sliced so that its flat repair goop would not work, we had it towed to Wheel Works in Sunnyvale where we had purchased its tires. Daniel at Wheel Works was very helpful and communicated clearly with us what he found and what they could and could not do to fix the flat and rim. He and his team were able to somewhat fix the rim that day and get us rolling again. Not a good first impression. Walked in and someone told me they'd be right with me. Not hello, or welcome. Two other employees walked to the service desk, completely ignoring myself and the customers behind me waiting to be helped. I specifically asked for a quote and felt as if promotions were being shoved very quickly. As a woman, I am very stern in not adding unnecessary promos because I know that these places usually think I wouldn't know better about cars. Employee was annoyed that I repeatedly asked for no promos. Walked out. Worst attitude ever, Everytime, without fail. I literally go out to find another tire service to stand this type treatment. The clerk is literally yelling, when I don't understand something and need clarification, he just paused and stared, and repeated with angry tone. I don't know what's his issues and what I did to make him this angry,but I'd rather go to other place and get proper treatment. BTW,here are 3 to 4 interactions for my tires, not only the warning signal is still on and tires are wobbling on the highway. I made an online appointment which got confirmed and came to to store at my scheduled time and the store rep named Tai basically told the the online appointment doesn't mean shit since they didn't confirm any appointment. I also found out they over torqued my front tire after I had my tire rotation here now I have to take care an expensive repair that was even their fault. I don't understand how can a name brand store over torqued a wheel. Wish I could give them 0 star. read more

Dishonest. Go to ACE Tires next door instead. I changed my 4 tires at this Wheel Works in Sunnyvale 2 years ago. High-end tires with 60k miles TreadWear warranty and I purchased Road Hazard warranty. Today, I rode over a nail and went there to fix it. Even though the nail was in the repairable area of the tire, they claimed that my tire was too worn for repair, they would not honor Road Hazard warranty, and could only recommend to change all 4 tires anyway. Really? My tires were inspected and deemed in good shape by the dealer just 3 months ago! I then went to the ACE Tires shop next door. Those guys told me it was an easy patch and fixed it for 30$. read more

They actually did a pretty good and *honest* job. They could have pressured me on two areas (two more tires, and lifetime alignment), but they didn't. I bought the lifetime alignment anyway. One of their techs did a good job updating me on the wear on my rear brakes. They did a good front end alignment which did indeed give me some benefits. They were kind enough to move a somewhat worn tire from the front to a spare position. In the past, this shop was notorious for trying to sell you things you didn't need. The new managers are more honest. One of the previous managers was actually rude and somewhat mad when I came in for by 5000 mile tire rotation (they are contractually obligated to provide to me free) and did not buy more services or products. In contrast, the Big O down the street in Mountain View was outright lying to me on my alignment. They said my front end suspension was frozen and could not align it and wanted complete replacement. Whereas Wheelworks Sunnyvale did not try to pressure me and I wanted the alignment, and they did a good job on it. read more

I gotta give them a very poor rating. I took my car here for a simple road force balance as I was having issues with my balance. So they managed to snap off a stud off a custom made spacer. They were clueless how to fix it. They told me they were "Researching" it and they would call me. I then brought the car to them and they still could not fix it, saying that the lug nut was odd and they couldn't find a match. After another week goes by no call again they are "researching". WTF, so I say how about I go have my mechanic fix it, they say they will pay for the lug and the stud but not labor. WHATEVER, I need to get back to 5 lugs, so my mechanic gets the car. I then notice on my way to my mechanic that the car is now making an odd noise. Turns out they bent a rotor too. I will update when i let you know if they paid me back, I plan to block the charge for $75 on my CC for the balance, but avoid they do not know what they are doing. Go to America's tires if you have to get tires, they have messed up a stud before and immediately sent me to a shop that knows how to fix. read more

Do NOT come here for honest service. I initially deleted my review but I don't want anyone else to waste their time. Last weekend I came in to check what I thought was a tire problem. The diagnosis was only $21 so that's a pretty fair price. But everything from there felt so sales-oriented and scammy. They charged me above market rate for the actual issue with my control arms, but then added on a whole 2 pages worth of fixes they insist "NEED" to be made. I asked them to print an invoice and couldn't help but notice they double charged the last charge, "Road test vehicle before and after completing alignment." In total they found $2,000 worth of repairs for me to do! This included several lines of either false, unnecessary or just minor problems I wasn't too worries about. After they checked my car for just a few minutes a guy comes out front trying to pressure me to sign up for credit with the shop so I can pay the $2,000 over the next several months. It wasn't a question of which repairs I needed, but rather how much I was going to pay them every month. He went on to say "if you sign up for credit NOW we'll chop 10%, 20% off the price!" It feels like they are just trying to charge customers a huge one time bill instead of gaining their trust to come back again. I left and found an honest mechanic to just work on the main issue (control arms). To my surprise that mechanic actually fixed up a few of my minor issues for free which Wheel Works was trying to add hundreds of dollars onto my invoice for (like a turn signal that blinks too fast, which didn't even really bother me). THAT is how you gain trust, not by pressuring customers into opening credit with your store. read more

Horrible customer service. Discovered that I had tire with a significant leak. Made an appointment for Tuesday, the 16th of November at 4:00 PM. A technician looked at my tire and discovered a nail. Daniel, the person at the counter advised me that due to the location of the nail, my tire was unrepairable. He gave me the option of replacement and I agreed. Daniel then proceeded to tell me that he didn't have the tire in stock but could get it from their Union City location. He informed me that they should have the tire the very next day. It was now approaching closing time and thought for safety concerns that Wheel Works should keep my vehicle overnight, considering that I was told they would have the tire the next day. The following day, Wednesday, the 17th I received no call and called the shop and was told the tire hadn't arrive but was assured it should be there the following day. On Thursday the 18th, I again received no communication from Daniel or anyone from Wheel Works. As the late afternoon approached, I was forced to once again reach out to them. Daniel informed me that my tire had still not arrived. I reminded him that he has had my vehicle for 3 days and was causing me a great deal of inconvenience. I asked that even though he claimed the tire was unrepairable, under the circumstances could some kind of a temporary repair be made until the new tire arrived. Daniel placed me on hold for a couple of minutes. When he returned he stated that one of the technicians could place a temporary plug in my tire. Due to the fact that I have been without my vehicle for 3 days, I agreed and said I would pick up my vehicle the following afternoon, the 19th. After paying nearly $30 for an UBER to get to Wheel Works in Sunnyvale to pick up my vehicle, Daniel was not there. The person at the counter new nothing about my vehicle and informed me that my tire had still not arrived. I described the conversation that I had with Daniel the previous day regarding the temporary plug. He then proceeded to tell me that it didn't make any sense . While I stood there he called Daniel on the telephone. After getting off the phone, I was told again that my tire was unrepairable. I already knew that but it was Daniel that offered me the temporary plug. I understand completely that we are in unprecedented times in regard to supply chain issues but there is no excuse for the complete lack of courtesy and communication. I was told that when a Wheel Works store orders an out of stock item they have no ability to track aforementioned item. I find that quite unbelievable but if true nothing short of ridiculous. You're in the tire business and have no ability to track tire orders. I don't believe that for a moment. In short, you had possession of my vehicle for 3 days and at no time did you reach out to me to explain the issue. I picked ip my vehicle with the nail still in the tire and left to NEVER return. Fortunately America's Tire just a couple blocks away was able to take care of my issue in less than 15 minutes. I have had less than stellar service at Wheel Works locations at San Jose, and Milpitas but thought the Sunnyvale location would redeem your reputation. The customer service I received at Wheel Works, Sunnyvale turned out to be the worst of all 3. I will NEVER RETURN , and will advise as many as I can to avoid Wheel Works (especially Sunnyvale) at all costs. read more

Just wanted to share the update & clarify .. not only did the other store remove the nail & repair the tire according to MAP specs and after an inspection the price was $10. In response to Wheel works...and within FAQ's about tires you so kindly linked to: "A proper tire repair includes the following: The tire is demounted from the wheel for a complete inspection, inside and out. Some damage to the tire may only be evident on the interior of the tire." Your service person,did not follow the Firestone guidelines you provided as the tire was not demounted when he glanced at it nor was a complete inspection made. We even offed to demount the tire ourselves so it could be inspected however again WW Sp declined to do so. I'm sure we can discuss this and the SP's insistence that 4 wheel drive vehicles must buy all four tires. Apparently both MFG's of our two 4 wheel drives is also unaware. read more
