If you care about your vehicle and wheels at all, I would recommend you to not come to this shop. All four of my wheels have impact gun damage and scratches from them not taking time to torque the lug nuts on. There was also a chip on one of my wheels that was never there before. I think their pricing is fair if they actually took care of your vehicle, however that was not the case. There was also head drag along the rim of the wheel which I had to touch up because the curb rash was quite bad. Overall, if you care about your vehicle find a different place that would do quality work. read more

Came in today since I had a nail puncture in my tire. Swap with the backup tire and came into the store today with an appt that I made online for 4 pm. Was greeted by Tim at the front desk, and he provided great customer service. Was great talking to him and was out the door in about 1 1/2 hours. Fortunately the tire was patchable and save me $300 dollars for a new tire. Total came out to about $30. Now I know where to come when I need tire services. read more

I made appointment online for the the first slot, 7am. I took car in and was told that they didn't have any techs in so they wouldn't be able to work on car until techs arrived around 9am that day. Ironically, the day before someone called to confirm my 7am appointment - so, they want me to be there as SCHEDULED but they don't reciprocate? What a load of bull. Normally, Wheelworks is reliable but this was inconsiderate and a waste of my time. Wow, Long, the service manager, and his technicians do work! Their lot was full when I pulled in for a battery replacement. But I was in and out within 20 min. Can't really give much feedback on facility because I wasn't there too long, but I'm completely happy with the service.Long took the time to explain some warranty info to me and got me in and out in no time. Been there 3x. First trip no issues. Quick and stayed in the car for a quick rotation. Second trip little slower got out. Did it on jacks. One wheel cap didn't get snapped back on all the way. Found after I got to my location. No big deal. 3rd time longer wait time. Little over an hour. Ok. Got a call about an hour later. They forgot the Tesla lifting puck on my car. No big deal. I stopped by their sister company Firestone down the street to request a tire patch up since my tire had a nail and lost all its air. Firestone staff told me to stop by Wheel Works that they have a full staff and should be able to do the work. I arrive to Wheel Works to be told by their staff that the tire patch up job will be done by 4:30pm. I went in at 10:30am! Job should only take 30 minutes max. I could not wait ALL DAY since I was driving around with a spare tire. So I went next door to Ace Tireshop and they did not hesitate, took my car in, and finished the job under 30 minutes. read more

Great service and pricing! Came in to replace a flat and worn tire for our family car. Tony, the manager, helped us out with a very good replacement at an affordable price that matches the same or similar type tire you find online or at Costco. Matching that with the speedy service (under 20 mins) and helpful advice made it all the better. I've gone to Tony before at another store he managed for tires and other auto services. If you planning to do an oil change for your car i recommmend to look for another place nearby.. i did my oil change here and when i get home i noticed some oil leak on the floor and i brought it back to them and they admit that their technician broke the drain plug. We started noticing a shimmy when braking in our Toyota Tundra. Took it to Wheel works in Sunnyvale for an alignment. We were told they couldn't do an alignment until a problem with the rack and pinion was fixed. They wanted to do the work. I have only used wheel works for tires and alignments, I have a Toyota approved repair shop, Yarnell's, in mountain view that I have used for repairs since 1992. Took the truck to Yarnell's for 2nd opinion and if the work needed, would have them do. Then would go back to wheel works for the alignment. Well, per Yarnell's shop, no issue with rack and pinion. I believe wheel works lied about work being needed now that they do repairs too. I have been a long term customer of wheel works...called to complain to manager and will not go back. Have asked they dispose of my records. read more

These guys are great. They're nice, they're accomodating and charming. But they're also incompetent. After I had my brakes serviced at a different Wheel Works, my car started to vibrate at speed. I brought it to these guys, and after 4 hours of diagnostics they said my half shaft was broken and it would cost $600 to repair. But, it was really just an annoyance and I could keep driving on it for months with no problem. That's what they said. Not only was this about twice what it should cost me, according to my REAL mechanic, it's a bald-faced lie. What was really wrong is that the original Wheel Works had twisted a brake line, which caused a cascade of problems with could have eventually ended with my engine twisting free of its mountings and bursting out of my hood. Thank god I went to my real mechanic, but the repairs I have to pay for, to fix Wheel Works' mistake, came to $881. All because one of them twisted a brake line and another one was either willfully dishonest or merely incompetent. Either way, let me be a cautionary tale. Take your car to a real mechanic and don't go near these guys. read more

Three bad experiences with these guys... This is the only business about which I've ever written the Better Business Bureau. They have never repaired a tire for me. On all three visits, I've asked for my tire to be repaired. I'm experienced in this area and know that all three times my tire could be safely repaired. On two of the occasions they told me they'd call me within an hour and didn't. I had time to walk all the way home to Castro and Central in Mountain View ... they never called; I called them and they told me they wanted to sell me new tires. I walked all the way back and they refused to put my old tire back on the car. In fact, they've twice refused to put my tire back on my car when it had a perfectly pluggable/patchable slow leak. These guys use "tire safety standards" as a lever to sell you things you don't need. Stay away. read more

I had to pay them to look at my car and they told me it needed new brake pads, resurfaced rotors, new ball joints, new front left axle, and new u joints. and it would cost almost $1,800. well let me tell you i got a second and 3rd opinion and it was only ONE joint that needed replacing and with labor cost under $200. They will try and screw you. Don't trust them on any thing. read more

We had to change our tires the same day. We tried Costco, but they were not taking walk-ins . We called Wheel Works, the rep checked to make sure they had our tires and we were able to get our tires changed and got our car back in about 4 hours. Went there to get two new brake pads and rotors - the quoted 3 hours turned out to be more like 10. Went there to get new tires - the quoted 3 hours turned out to be more like 11 hours and they damaged ALL 4 of my performance wheels. (Luckily - after weeks of back and forth - they finally replaced my rims with new ones but still did not verbally take accountability for the incident) If you have a beater, enjoy broken promises, and have an unlimited amount of time on your hands - go here for service. Dropped by the shop to ask a question about some odd cracking on my 2 front tires. Told them this was probably the 3rd time I saw this cracking and wanted them to take a look to see if it was anything to worry about. I had brought my car in the first time I noticed the cracked and was told not to worry. Neither the rep nor the store manager had seen anything like it, so we took some pictures to send to the manufacturer. He and I both wanted to find out what could cause something like this. Called a few days later to follow up. Manager had dropped the ball and forgotten. He told me he would call the manufacturer tomorrow and update me immediately after. No call. Waited a few more days and called again. Manager is off site. Waited another few days. Called and asked to speak with the manager. Was told he's with a customer and would call me back as soon as he was finished. Again, nothing. It's fine if there's nothing that can be done... just tell me. read more

Avoid like a plague. Incredible that a Tire changing place does not even have a decent jump box and no jumper cables. Had to call AAA from the parking lot. In other words, the car was not returned in the status it was delivered. Also one of the front desk guys (Long or short, don't remember the name) has a terrible attitude problem and such a negative energy around him, that you would rather call AAA to jump start your car, even if you have to pay, than go inside to get battery from these folks. I'm a little confused and a tiny, tiny miffed. I called in the early afternoon, asking what time they closed and they said 7pm! Perfect, so if I got there before 6:15 they would be able to help me with an oil change? Yes! So I get there at 6:10, park in front of their store and walk in. It's your typical auto parts place and while I wasn't wowed by the cleanliness, ambiance and feel - it was standard. So I walk up and ask if they have time for an oil change. The guy tells me they aren't doing oil changes because they are remodeling or something. When I try and confirm that this was the location that I called and talked to someone - he finds some one that says they can only do the expense ($52 synthetic) oil change. Um what? No thanks. Luckily the front desk guy was cute and nice. But still, no oil change, then only an expensive one. I mean, I guess things change but my little 2000 Jetta does not need the fancy stuff and a store should know what it's shop is offering in their services. Oh well, they lost a customer and perhaps a long term one. read more

I went for a wheel alignment because my regular mechanic's front end guy is out on disability. They did the alignment and then told me I needed over $300 in repairs before it could be done correctly. After taking it back to my regular mechanic, he found that a part had been put in backward which caused the pulling. After calling the manager, he said the computer diagnosed the problem, not a person and he was sorry for any mistake. I don't trust anyplace that doesn't confirm a computer diagnosis by a human. I would approach a business like this with great caution. read more

We took a car to get a tire repaired after noticing that it had a slow leak - around 45 minutes before closing time. The tires were bought from WW, so the repairs were to come free for the life of the tire. Firstly, Alex tried to tell us that run flats typically can't be repaired and gave us a gloomy prediction for the success of the repair. Then he saw us looking at Bridgestone web sites and it seemed to be the point when his attitude turned... We sat for 30 minutes while he and two other mechanics hung out and talked to another customer - never once giving us an update about the tire (like if it can even be fixed). I have had several tires repaired, in the past, and I know what the procedure is and how long it should take. Considering it is near closing time, I can understand the guys dragging a bit - that's not the problem - the problem is the attitude we got from Alex (admittedly, this review is directed toward him, but I still feel a business is responsible for the behavior of their employees - particularly the ones who are customer-facing). Short version: once we handed the keys over, we sat down and Alex and his buddies walked around us like we were furniture... only addressing us when I asked for an update. When I asked for the final update (45 mins), Alex became extremely patronizing and, basically, told me to shut up and sit down. I asked him if he thought it was a good idea to be patronizing and rude to their customers and he said "a gave you an update, you didn't need another one." I explained that I had asked for every update we got and he didn't even get my point. I have bought several sets of tires from WW, but this experience was enough to make me boycott them for good. One person's severe lack of professionalism and sense of customer service does not necessarily reflect ineptitude throughout the company, but I hope anyone reading this will, at the very least, try to avoid having any expectations if dealing with this moron. read more

Got a fine set of tires 10 months ago. Part of the deal was free rotation within the first year. Took my van by today to make it happen, but was greeted with "if you leave it here all day ...". Very disappointed. Could get this done while I wait for $20 plenty of places. Free service clearly ain't free. Had 4 tyres replaced on my CLK350, they were very friendly, very responsive and professional. Chris P ordered the Tyres then found out that there were better performance tyres recommended by Mercedes and turned out to be slightly cheaper too, so he called me and ordered them instead. They got the tyres, and managed to replace them and do the alignment in 1.5 hours. I am impressed and happy with their work. Makes such a difference to have competent people doing the job right and well. 5 starts to Sunnyvale Wheel Works. By they way, I also had my other S600 tyres changed their, earlier, consistently excellent service. read more
