Due to Obamacare I am on state insurance temporarily and I needed a local PCP since I had Neurosurgery 10 days earlier. Being on this Insurance can create and automatic stigma that often causes issues between physician and patient. Rest assured, I pay my portion of this state insurance. Anyway, I went for the visit and was placed in a exam room. A minute or two goes by and the door opens and the doctor begins asking questions from the hallway regarding medical records no one asked me to bring, "as if I was a bother and should have known better". Basically I was grilled for the whole visit and I could not believe how rude and argumentative this physician was. At one point I thought about walking out but I decided to wait and see how nasty she would get. Working in the Surgical Setting I see real world class physicians who treat patients with care and respect, recognizing that patients often refer other patients. This doctor failed to see that this meeting today was for me to see if I wanted to move forward in the relationship as caregiver and patient. I don't want a Physician who floats across the floor. I want to be involved in my own care, I want the physician to listen, and I want the physician to be respectful. Dr. Yu-Fleming needs to step back and watch if she cannot interact as a physician should. She created the very opposite of how how I see my physician and has lost me as a patient. I will not use Porter Hospital or its physicians until I am given a written apology. In any event I will no longer see Dr. Candice Yu-Fleming. I will not refer friends or family to this provider. I paid the $40 fee for the first assessment and then they wanted $168 for x-rays in addition to that before an adjustment(which the adjustment is an additional fee) . Had I known that I would have skipped the $40 assessment. I could have had 3 adjustments at most places for that price. I've been to many chiropractors over the years, at least a couple dozen and you don't know if they are good or bad until you've actually had an adjustment. I have been to a chiropractor several times over the years and so I was aware this intake process takes time. Every patient's situation is different and the doctor needs to see what's going on with your back before jumping right into an adjustment. I started out three times a week, but as I improved. I went to two times a week, then one time a week, then one time every other week, and that's where I am now. I expect that soon I will go to one time a month for maintenance. Dr. Ryan has made an absolutely huge improvement in my quality of life. The staff at Above All Chiropractic is extremely professional, extremely accommodating and have never failed to assist me when I had a question. I was worried because I know how addicts are thought of, but my first appointment really set me at ease. One of the first things Dr. Carbone said to me was that he wasn't there to judge me and that enough people had done that to me and punished me. Dr. Carbone was right! It's nice to be with a doctor that understands. I knew Doctor Carbone was my kind of doctor anyway because he has Marvel and DC all over the place in his office. I also want to mention that the staff is also amazing! There's not one rude person that works for Dr. Carbone and that's very rare.
