If you haven't been to Wheeler's Feed and Outfitters lately, you need to go experience it. I went there yesterday for the first time in about 2 years. In the past, I couldn't find shirts durable enough for work, and nice enough for rodeo and meeting guests and clients for horse training and riding instruction. This time, was different! They still have a great selection of their Western Boutique-style apparel, but they've added a great selection of women's shirts like the kind a working and competing cowgirls needs; Wrangler, Cinch, and Cruel Denim to name a few. I found 4 that fit me perfectly, that were both flattering and durable, then went to the hats, and with Beth's expert help, found great looking and durable straw hat. ALL of the staff were awesome- polite and knowledgeable. The manager even reserved a dressing room for me with my name on it! Came in for spurs, Emily was extremely helpful. She went as far to stretch out the straps for me! What a gal! Saw a Stetson straw hat on sale for $59.99 and took up on the great deal! The second time I went in, some sale associates were a bit too aggressive with selling boots. They tried to tell me Snip Toe boots with a spur ridge don't exist. =( Juan saved the day when I came in a 3rd time to get my crumpled hat reshaped. He is very kind and will entertain you while he shapes your hat. Be sure to tip him. He did an amazing job! 4/5 Stars only for the one day the sales people sent me out the door. I'm new to the area and the sport of archery. I stopped by some archery stores around town to get some opinions and this was my second stop, but it should be your first. The Archery staff was so awesome! No pressure staff, professional unbiased opinions, and went above and beyond to make me feel very comfortable. I brought my 10 month old bow and they helped me upgrade things to fit my needs instead of trying to sell me a new one. Instead of $1,500-2,000 like the other guys said I need to spend, they helped me get totally comfortable and set up for 1/4 the price. I felt more confident and learned so much through the process. Wheelers is a very nice establishment. It was my first stop in there. To be honest, it was the middle of a work day and it was nearly impossible to get into the driveway off the I-10 access road due to heavy road construction that has been ongoing for months. I have to believe this construction is killing Wheelers business. Anyway, as I was saying; it's a very nice place. They do have a lot of rifles and pistols in stock as well as supplies. I'm gonna generally say that this place caters more to the general gun owner/collector than the more modern tactical cowboy. I'd say that on average the wood to polymer ratio is about 60/40 in favor of wood. I went in wanting to compare the feel and quality of two firearms: the CZ P10C and the Canik TP9SF Elite. They had neither and I'll just be honest, the gentleman behind the counter had never heard of the latter. He knew about CZ, meaning that CZ existed, but as far as individual models, he had to read each sku to know which model he was looking at. And honestly, that's ok, I'd rather him be an honest salesman new to the field than be full of shit and try to upsell me anything and everything. But, after realizing that they had neither firearm I was interested in, I asked to see the new 365XL he had. That is such a light, easy to carry pistol. In just minutes, I really wanted one. I've carried a Glock 19 my entire adult life so you can imagine the glory in carrying a 365XL. Nearly the same barrel length (.75" less than a g19) and nearly the same capacity (13 vs 16) but in such a lighter, smaller, More carryable package. I was sold. Just not here. The people here are nice enough and I have no doubt that the customer service here would be fine. The problem for me is the prices are just too high vs what I am seeing online and in a few other locations. I'm looking for my new home base. I always pick a new home plate where I get transfers done and buy a box or two of self defense ammo. I believe wholeheartedly in supporting our local gun stores whether or not you buy guns there or not. I'd hope all of the firearms owners from the region do the same or no one will be going to the local gun store in a few more years. I certainly didn't look T all of Wheelers prices so I in no way want to give the impression that they have higher than normal gun store prices. I'm sure they are competitive. I am only speaking about the Sig 365XL I was looking at. Stop in and take a look around. It's uh a big, nice place and full of firearms, how can that be a bad experience? read more

I came in here on a Friday and bought some shoes, the young lady who helped me I believe her name was Tyler, had a poor attitude and was no help in my decision making. The same young lady checked me out and when I told her to have a nice rest of her day she picked up her phone and didn't even acknowledge me! How rude! Overall, the prices are a little high but doable and the store is very cute. I gave it three stars because of the poor customer service but I love my new shoes! read more

This review is in reference to Wheeler's Trailer Sales. If possible, the review would be a NEGATIVE 5 STARS! AVOID this dealership if at all possible. Customer service is atrocious; communication with customer is the same; words, or promises, (i.e. to deliver) are worthless. My negative experience was with a trailer consignment that fell through. Upon arranging for my trailer to be moved off the lot (at my cost) to my (not Wheeler's) repairman, I was "promised" 6 different delivery days, none of which occurred, with no communication to explain why. When I called to inquire, the manager hung up on me! Additionally, their repair estimate for minor repairs on my trailer was outrageous. It was 10x more than the actual repair cost! I wrote a detailed letter to the owners regarding my experience. The predicted result: Not even the professional courtesy of a response. Bottom Line: AVOID this dealership, the alternative could not be worse. read more

GREAT FAMILY OWNED STORE. I use to go to Bass Pro Shop before I knew about this store right off of i10. I literally get almost everything there besides food. I buy all of my ammo, guns, jeans, rat poison etc...The prices are great, and the staff is very friendly. Awesome Rifle selection. I live an hour half south of SA, and still drive all the way to Wheeler's to purchase my ranch/hunting supplies. Great store, and the remodel is really cool as well. read more

Went in here to buy ammo and deer corn. The store is nice and has a good selection of items. The price was a little high in comparison to other stores in the area. The real problem is in the feed barn. We pulled up and had to ask where we should go while 6 employees just stood around doing what appeared to be nothing. Once we pulled in to their feed barn, they just stood there with a blank stare on their faces until I got out of the truck, walked the receipt over to them and explained what it was we were there for. All of which we wouldn't have had issues with had the lady inside the store simply told us that we need to pull into the feed barn, find our items, and load them. Instead, she instructed us to pull up and that someone would come to us, take our receipt, and take care of the items. The unfortunate thing was in their employees attitudes. They seemed annoyed that they had to work and frustrated that they had to help us. There are many other feed barns, tack stores, and outfitters in the area. Maybe this one just had a bad day but you may not want to waste your time. At the very least, you may want to stay away from the feed barn. read more

Great place to deal with! Friendly, always greet you with a welcoming smile. Knowledgeable staff and large inventory. If you're into archery, be sure to see Preston and John in the archery department. They know their stuff and will help. I see some guy gave them a poor rating because the serving is coming off his Vapor Trail strings but Wheeler's doesn't make Vapor Trail strings. Vapor Trail does and his argument is with them but he hasn't figured that out. Paper tuning is not a part of installing strings and cables. read more

About four months ago I went into the trailer service area to order a skylight cover and a vent cover. The individual measured the covers and wrote up the order. A month or so went by, without contact from the service department telling that my items were in and ready to schedule an install so, I went into the store to inquire. Long story short, the individual stated they'd lost the order and blamed some guy the just left or was fired for not ordering the items. So, I had to bring my trailer back in to have measurements taken again. I arrived and the individual stated he didn't need the trailer he could use the VIN to order the items from the conversion company. I went in today and inquired about the covers and again, no one knew if the covers came in or if they were ever even ordered. Another individual stated that I'd need to bring the trailer in to have the covers measured!!! Are you kidding me, these folks (in the trailer service area) do not have a clue about customer service, they are totally unprepared and clearly do not know how to work effectively. I went to the main store and asked to see the owner and the floor manager told me that the owner and GM were not in and I would need to come back another day!!! Okay so the lack of good customer service extends to the main store as well, no customer service experience there either. Good customer service would have been something like this: I'm very sorry sir, let me take down your information and give it to the GM or owner and have them get in touch with you or let me find someone who can help you. No more Wheeler's for me. I may have to drive a distance to D&D in Sequin but at least they, (Keet Slone) know how to provide good customer service. read more

I went to Wheelers for the first time with my wife and daughter.We walked around the store and I was surprised that we walked by many sales people and were not asked if we needed any help. I was interested in buying a Compound Bow and went to the bow section. There was a young man working on a bow and never was asked if he could help or if I had any questions. I finally took a bow down and he said not to pull it back which I knew not to dry fire. They lost out on an 800 dollar sell ! We left immediately . Never will go back and went to Bass Pro. I guess they can act like they are doing you a favor by being in their store or they don't need your business . I did notice there were very few customers. Very poor service!!! read more

Used the archery shop because of the folks who used to work there. Did not know they had moved on. Will not ever return. They have a younger guy there who does shoddy work. I get the feeling I got a restrung bow that was not paper tuned or served correctly. I bought Vapor Trail strings and the serving is coming off with less than 300 shots through the bow. It took two trips to get a peep served in so it would not fly off. I will pay for service and expertise, but this was by far the worst I have ever seen with a bow. I wanted to use them because they are not a big box store and it keeps the money local. They must be paying this guy poorly because his work reflected how he feels about them. No way I am going back there for anything, let alone archery service--they need to train their staff. read more
