I want say I have bought a number of pairs of boots and jeans for my family at Billy's. The service and professionalism is fantastic and better than any retail store I've ever been in. Today I was buying another pair of Jeans and boot socks. There was a customer who wanted to return a pair of boots, but they didn't meet the refund requirements and the gas a store credit. He said it was fine, but kept berating the two young ladies. Threatening the young ladies with terrible reviews until he tried to bring me into it and I provided my opinion at which point he stopped. I'm here to say the young ladies handled everything very professionally and are great assets to the Billy's team. read more

Billy's just screwed me a week before Christmas by waiting several days to let me know the gift I purchased from them was not available. Their web site is inaccurate and doesn't reflect stock on hand and they wait until your payment clears to verify if they have what you need in stock. The customer service sucks. It took 4 employees standing at the register and 15 minutes to get a refund for a pair of shoes that I was sold two different sizes of. I had more than one employee try and tell me I couldn't get a refund as it was an item on clearance. I had already called ahead and been told clearly I would get a full refund as they had checked upon my call and had no others of the two sizes I was sold. The person on the phone was extremely helpful and kind. But 3 of the 4 employees at the register were snarky and unhelpful and were standing around. In order to get a refund they had to call "upper management" and get permission and I had to fill out paperwork with my name, address, and a signature even though I had the receipt and the original form of payment. This process was absolutely rediculous, I have worked in retail and I have worked selling shoes. With a receipt and the situation it should have been an apology and a refund transaction with no additional paperwork since I had the receipt and the original form of payment with me. I will not be returning to a store that cares so little about customer satisfaction. read more

I honestly love Billy's it's a good place If you're looking for a last-minute nice shirt for a man or a boy, I check out Billy's just about every time I'm looking for something for my fiancé and it is still my number one choice. I most definitely do believe that there needs to be more outgoing workers who actually want to help rather then not want to be there. It is very compact inside the stores as well as very full!! I assume this woman is the manager, acts so "large and in charge" to the employees it makes me cringe! She is berating them about dress code, gossiping and talks to them like she owns them. Prices - on par with other western stores in the area as well as those in San Antonio. Boot selection - if you are looking for something unique and/or fashionable, this is THE place for you. Seriously, they have QUITE an interesting selection. Shopping experience - unfortunately, VERY claustrophobic. A very large store but they have so much stuff crammed in here that it is difficult to navigate and even squeeze between the clothing racks. I didn't try on any boots, but there just didn't even seem to be a lot of space to sit and try different pairs/sizes and walk around. The staff didn't seem to be very professional or helpful either. We were there on a Saturday evening between 5p and 6p sometime and I counted 5 staff members. Only one of them was walking around the store working and available for questions. The other 4 were literally hanging around the cash register area gossiping, playing around, etc. We were there for at least 30 minutes and this went on the whole time. Y'all have a good concept going on, just fix these two items and you'll get 5 SOLID stars from me. read more

My dad, a true cowboy, came to town and wanted a straw cowboy hat. He doesn't like the huge George Straits but wanted what he called a "banker's hat". They staff assured me on the phone they had it. The Stetson he got was not a cheap tourist knock off, but the service was superb. He has shaped hats for years but acknowledged it was probably best to let them handle it, because Straw is not as easy as felt. Hope he can wear it for years and remember his visit here. read more

If I was able to leave no stars I would. We ordered a straw hat from Billy's and that was over a year ago. First it was it would take 6 months. Sure fine no problem. Then every month after that for the next year I have been emailing because no one answers the phone or returns messages left. And every month I get the same response of it will be another month. I have asked for a refund and they refuse to return my money because it is a custom order in production. Yet when you look at the tracking it shows it is not in production so they are contradicting themselves. I would just like our money back. read more

So I'm updating this based on what happened after my original 1-star review. Apparently, my review caught the attention of their general manager who called hubby within a couple hours of my posting. He said they'd had problems with their website, there were new people training, etc, etc... But he took it upon himself to make the situation right. Our grandson now has matching boots, although we weren't there any longer to see him wear them, other than through pictures; and hubby now has his Lucchese boots, which ended up being mailed to our home address because of the delay. Hubby really likes the boots, but now he has to take them somewhere to get them stretched. So, I suppose this store is okay, but the best thing would be to just buy your boots and leave with them. I wouldn't order anything, or try to make exchanges. read more

We went to Boerne to get some new boots in early July, and Megan assisted us at Billy's. Now, I am not Western boot savvy at all, so I needed a lot of help with understanding how they are supposed to fit and feel. Megan was exceptionally patient, as I flitted around the store, mesmerized by all of the leather colors and patterns. She was also enthusiastic and I could tell she loved her job. We finally walked out with the perfect pair of boots a few hours later. It was definitely one of the most fun afternoons I've had in a long while. We were referred to Billy's from a friend while visiting the area, and could not have been happier with our experience. The staff was friendly and so helpful in assisting us in our purchases. We had a lot of questions and they listened to every one of our concerns, even added knowledge about brands and how they are made and what types of boots and hats are useful for certain purposes. I love bags, have way to many...but wanted the cute Rattler print from Consuela for my first bag from this company. I purchased a Consuela Jet Setter bag on January 10th and was told it was on backorder. Sad, but okay I will wait for this beauty. Months later and I still have not received the bag and if you look on line it shows available. If you add it to your cart you will get emails of encouragement to purchase the item still in your cart. They have several jet setter bags for sale online with one stating to call before purchase due to low volume. So I called and was told they did not have any jet setter style bags in the store. They are not sure when they will be in. If you call Consuela Customer service they to are unhelpful with an I don't give a shit attitude!
