Hot tea and pineapple post massage!
Courtney S.

Wow. Wow. Wow. I went here for the first time today and had an hour foot massage. I can't remember the last time I was so relaxed. I was a bit worried about parking right in the heart of town but they have their own lot. Pauline was honestly amazing. She had a strong yet comforting touch and I'd go back to her again and again! To top it off they end with fresh pineapple and tea. What a nice touch. Really impressed with the quality of the massage. Definitely returning!

BEST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE -- there was miscommunication initially when booked our first appointment so they gave us a discount coming back the second time. We got an hour couples massage in the same room and it was a 10/10 experience for both of us. After the massage they gave us a seat in the front room before paying and handed us two fresh pineapple slices, chocolate and water (you could choose between that or tea) AMAZING experience. Highly recommend.

This is the second location we've been to. And, they are just as amazing as the first! As soon as you walk in, it feels like you've walked into a spa in Thailand. The entire place is clean and beautifully decorated. They have a small parking lot for approximately 8 cars and there is free street parking, as well. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. We walked in a little after they opened, requested a 90 min couples massage, and were taken right into our private room. The room was very dimly lit and you'll see that instead of a massage table, they use mats that are on the floor. Before you get started, don't forget to use the potty! You want to make sure you are as relaxed as possible and not worry about having to hold anything in or having to stop during your massage. In the private room, they asked what areas we wanted to have them focus on and the type of pressure we wanted. Then, they gave us a few minutes to undress. They have hangers on the wall to hang up your clothes. We undressed down to our underwear, but guess you can take it all off if you want. Just know that you may not always be covered as the towel might shift, especially during the stretches if they're included in the type of massage you requested. Once undressed, we were asked to lay face down on the mat and to cover ourselves with the towel that was provided. The room and the mats were a nice, warm temperature and never felt cold while there. There are nice, soothing sounds and music playing softly in the background. If you don't specify what type of massage you want, they will automatically give you the fusion massage. During our 90 min fusion massage, they used a combination of techniques: pressure points, walking on us from our feet up to our back (they have rails on the ceiling to hold on to), deep tissue massage, hot stones, assisted stretches. They used some tiger balm and a good amount of oil throughout the massage, but have damp, warm towels to wipe you down with. At times it hurt a bit, but always felt so good! They definitely went to town, trying to remove all the kinks and knots and to release all of the built up tension in our muscles. They made sure to hit practically every inch of our bodies. They did not massage our entire face, but did a bit on our foreheads and temples. Once the massage started, they made sure that we were comfortable and that their pressure was to our liking. They put in a lot of effort to ensure that our visit was as enjoyable, beneficial, and relaxing as possible. Definitely a unique, yet fantastic massage. Not comparable to any other massage we've ever had. Give this place a try! We'll be returning guests, for sure. If you plan on doing the same, don't leave there without a stamp card. You'll get a stamp for every hour of service you have and will eventually get a free one hour massage.

Had an incredible experience with Erika. She did an excellent job and knew the areas that needed more work. My back feels great.

Skylar is truly an exceptional massage therapist. I've been seeing him regularly for the past five…read moremonths for deep tissue/NMT sessions, and they are consistently the best massages I've ever had. What sets Skylar apart is his advanced musculoskeletal knowledge, his technique, and his incredible intuition. I sometimes joke that he has X-ray vision. Even if I can't name every ache or area of tension, Skylar somehow finds and treats every sore spot and addresses patterns I didn't even realize were contributing to the issue. After five months of consistent sessions, I've had a significant reduction in chronic back and neck pain, less overall soreness, and even an improvement in my overall wellbeing. Skylar's deep tissue work is firm and therapeutic while still being relaxing -- a rare combination. He is also especially skilled at treating harder-to-access areas (i.e. around and under the scapula) that many therapists don't effectively address. Barefoot Bliss Massage is a gem -- it has a soothing atmosphere; Holly, Phoenix and Stacy at the reception desk are welcoming and so helpful; easy online booking; and very reasonable pricing (the membership is a great value). Highly recommend Skylar and Barefoot Bliss.

We both had a wonderful experience and will definitely be back!

Very disappointing experience…read more I was really looking forward to this appointment, especially as a busy mom who does not get much time to carve out for myself, but unfortunately this was one of the worst massage experiences I have ever had. My massage therapist walked in through the front door five minutes after my appointment start time, already putting things off on the wrong foot. During the massage, she asked if I wanted more pressure and I said yes, but the massage remained extremely weak and half-hearted, often using only one hand. I began to suspect she was distracted or not fully present. Eventually, I could not ignore the feeling anymore. I told her I needed to use the restroom, got up, and when I checked, she was on her phone actively watching something and she tried hiding her phone under the sheet. At that point, I walked out without finishing the service. I was so uncomfortable and unhappy that I could not take another minute. While the front desk receptionist was kind, she was having an open conversation with another massage therapist, loudly discussing her neighbor and calling him a redneck, which felt highly unprofessional and inappropriate for a spa environment. To make matters worse, the bathroom felt neglected. The faucet handle did not work properly, and there was a half used open water bottle with no cap sitting on the shelf, which was unsettling and unsanitary. As I was leaving, she told me that management would call me to follow up, but I never received a call. Overall, the space did not feel relaxing, calming, or professional. I left feeling frustrated and upset that my time and money were wasted. It is incredibly disappointing when you finally make time for self care and are met with such poor service and lack of respect for the client experience. I truly hope management addresses these issues, because this was not acceptable.

You know the type: one-size-fits-all treatments with names like "Zen Renewal" or "Earth Embrace," run with the efficiency and warmth of a TSA checkpoint. But Massage Associates? Different story. No pretentious fountain gurgling in the lobby, no whispery receptionist pushing eucalyptus diffusers like they're selling snake oil. This place is raw, real, and refreshingly un-fancy. It's about the work--the grind, the muscle, the human connection. They ask questions, they listen, and they tailor the experience like they actually give a damn. Because they do. You're not just passing through. You're becoming part of something--a regular. And you're getting that at a price that doesn't make you hate yourself afterward. So if you're looking for the theatrical, the perfumed illusion of wellness... keep walking. But if you want the real deal--the kind of massage that works, not performs--then pull up a chair.
